I have really muscular legs too from years of snow skiing, gymnastics etc.  All I know is that when I was kickboxing and doing a lot of kicks, lunges, squats etc. my sister said my legs had "never looked better".  I didn't feel like they were bulkier.

I know what you mean though, I never looked great in mini skirts or skinny jeans but I have met many men who adored my legs.  Go figure!

Don't forget you can zigzag your calories a little.  As long as your deficit for the week is where you want it you can have bigger and smaller daily ones.  I find that if I eat the same calories each day then some days I'm just starving. If I eat a little more one day then it's easier to eat less the next because my body was satisified.   It also keeps your body from plateauing.

Try Victoria Secret D cup, and you can go online and find a bunch but they're never cheap.  It's always hard.  At least you're still young and probably still look great in a bikini. It's even worse for me because now I don't want my stomach hanging out and the only thing that hold these boobs up are underwire bikini tops.  I have had to search high and low for an underwire tankini!  Good luck!

How is your weight loss progressing? Are you losing slowly or quickly?  It sounds to me like you could probably use some more calories.  What I noticed is that if I eat a little more one day (smaller deficit)  I feel really satisfied and then next day I can eat less and have a bigger deficit while feeling good.  If you're overall deficit for the week is where you want it you're fine.  It's really uncomfortable to me to be hungry everyday.

Try to  add in a few hundred quality calories and watch to make sure it doesn't stall your loss.  The other day on Valentines I only had a 100 calorie deficit (I usually go for 500-900.  I felt totally good and satisfied and the next day I was hardly hungry all day which felt nice.

Good luck!

I'm in there with ya Lynn!  Great job on the 59 lbs!  WOW!

I lost 22lbs and have put 5 back on since taking on a new job and not being able to work out as often.   I'm determined to get back down those 5 lbs and lose the final 20.  This website works and I'll just have to adjust my workouts & food planning to my busier schedule.  I took a nice break from worrying about my food, but I'm starting to slip back into old habits  (mostly cold beer and chips on the beach since I'm in Hawaii) but I refuse to carry this weight anymore.

My program will be:

  •
    • Eating good healthy food, more fruits, veggies and protien
    • 4-5 days of running or kickboxing
    • 2 days of stretching and yoga
    • no wine at all, but an occasional light beer
    • continue this program while on vacation.
    • 165-15=150 (I only lose about a lb a week)
    • 150-15=135 final goal

I'm looking forward to having fresh motivation and helping each other along!

Room mates are hard...I learned later in life AFTER tippy toeing around room mates that it would have been far better to calmly, firmly and politely tell them what was pissing me off instead of clamming up because eventually the tension would ruin the living situation anyway and I'd move.  It's not like you have to yell at her and make her feel horrible but you should say something before she makes you crazy.  That is not normal behavior, she's obviously obsessed with food and you have a chance to possibly open her eyes to some really unhealthy behavior.  And if she takes it poorly, oh well, at least she might stop!   Good luck!

Hang in there girl!  You just have to do what works for you and the proof will be in the smaller rear end!  When I started here end of September, I was saving calories for some small bits of chocolate, cheese etc and my husband was like "you can't eat cheese if you're trying to lose weight, you'll never lose weight if you eat those sweets".  I had to totally ignore him and go about my routine and now I'm down 21 lbs, 20 more to go and he doesn't say that kind of stuff anymore.  He said I was looking great the other day.  There are as many menus as there are people on this site and you have to find what works for you.  There's a hundred posts on oatmeal and I can't stand the stuff. I do better on higher protien and less starch, even the good kinds. Take what you can use from here, disregard the things you're not interested in and "NEVER LET THE TURKEYS GET YOU DOWN"!!!

Yeah he's happy I am much healthier.....

Yeah he's happy I am in the best shape since we've been together.....(11 years)

Yeah he compliments me.....

BUT WHY DOES HE INSIST ON GOING OUT ONCE A WEEK TO OUR LOCAL SPORTS PUB FOR DINNER/DRINKS?

I have NO will power to sit in a pub and drink water and eat salads.  Every Thursday is beer/wing night so it's super cheap when you order wings.  (Get a pitcher of beer for $5.00)  And the worse part about it?  The food isnt even that great.  The next day I always feel like CRAP and the guilt is bad.  The guilt is REALLY bad.  i jumped on the scale this morning and I am up 1 lb.  Now I can look forward to a day of beating myself up!  How wonderful!!!!

Have a great day :)
~H~

oooh, that's a toughy.  I LOVE beer!  And I love good wings.  So, I'd probably eat good all day and have a salad, with a few wings, and beer.  If you gained a lb it's probably water weight anyway.  Of course you can ask for a new place to go as well.  The other day I had grilled chicken with the wing sauce and dipped it in some ranch dressing.  Still had calories/fat but the grilled chicken was SO good that way.  Less grease, no skin, but lots of flavor.  You're doing so well to  have lost 80lbs, I'm sure he thinks you have it all under control.  Just let him know it's still really hard.  Good luck!

Great job on the weight loss!  BUT, please hold off because your body/breast may still be changing for another 4-5 yrs!  As a person who is unhappy with her own breasts (mine are too big, and now are saggy) I DO understand your feelings.  Since it's not about boys yet, and no one should be seeing your breasts but you, try to consider waiting until you're older to make any major changes.  There are ways to tighten and tone your chest so start with those.  A good bra like someone mentioned will also help.  Then, when you're ready, you can look at surgery.  I know it's hard to be told to wait!  I'm the most impatient person I know, but you're getting some very valuable advice so please consider.  :)  All the best to you and ENJOY your success!

I  had bacon three times this month, hadn't had it for a long time.  It tasted SO good!  I also pounced on my daughter's doughnut the other day.  She had decided to eat a fruit roll up instead and so the darn thing was sitting on the counter staring at me and I ate it faster than Garfield in a pan of lasagne.  SHe was mad at me and I had to buy her another one the next week.  I don't EVER eat doughnuts.  Even when I get them for the girls I don't get one.  But that one tasted amazing.  Then I was fine again.  Sometimes you just gotta say- what the ****!

Nope, uh uh Kajikit!  No way are we letting you quit!  I know you won't, you're just tired of doing this.  Well, I have those days too and trust me, I started before you and have only lost 16 lbs!  BUT, it's worth it.  I can see a change in your photos, and you will see more too.  One thing that's been helping me not get too tired of this is eating maintenence a couple times a week, and I'm still losing.  It helps me feel full and allows me to indulge a little more.  All I can say is what's the alternative to keep this up?  Being uncomfortable?  Gaining weight?  Starting this whole process again at a heavier weight?  UGG.  Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and next thing you know you will be that much furthur down the road.  I stepped on the scale hoping to see a change today and saw none.  Oh well.  My pants that were too tight when I started are now starting to bag on me.  :)       & nbsp;      &nbs p; Good luck  and keep it up,   Wink

Try eating some protien before you eat that.  When I have my cereal or oatmeal I feel better if I have egg whites, or a few slices of ham or turkey first.  Almonds help, as does the cinnamon.  Maybe you just don't do well with a lot of carbs in the am.  Good luck!

Throw some garbanzo beans on for fiber and more protien.  If you're afraid  you'll still be  hungry and you have a lot of calories to work with then add a 1/2 can of organic black bean chile or something that you like.  Or take all the ingredients and stuff it into a tortilla or pita pockets.

John Travolta is still hot with the extra pounds. Jack Nicholson is getting a bit old but he was looking pretty good for a short fat man.  It's all about the confidence.  That's the one lesson we can learn from this.   Body language, loving yourself and feeling sexy and not being afraid to project that.  I'm a big flirt, would never cross that line since I'm married but love to have fun, get laughs and smiles.

The great thing about waking up to a new day is a chance to change what we don't like about our lives.  If you're job is no fun and people are being rude to you...QUIT!  You can get another job.  It' s not worth it.  As for your mental health, you can also get help.  Your webpage made me so sad...you are forgetting that you are not powerless in your life.  YOU can make the changes that need to be made to be happier.   What would you say if it was your sister cutting herself and talking about suicide?  How would you help her?  What would be your first step?  and the next?  Now apply that to yourself.  You're worth it.

I don't think a person has to be thin to be hot.  Queen Latifah, Greg Grunberg (Matt Parkman on Heroes), Jack Black, Raven, Chaka Khan, etc.  There are a LOT of heavier people out there with a LOT of sex appeal and charisma.

For me, being thinner is more about being healthy, and I personally look and feel a lot better when I'm not heavy.  But some people look terrible without a little extra padding.  Can anyone imagine a really skinny Jack Black?  It would be depressing to look at.

You're SO right!  Have you ever seen a scrawny hula dancer? They look goofy on stage.  Serious. The ones who are chubby  look the most graceful and pretty when they dance.   Even the ones who would be classified as downright fat look good.  The skinny ones just look bony.  Anyone want to move to Hawaii and be a hula dancer?  Remember, it's our wester society feeding us this skinny is beautiful crap.  HEALTHY IS BEAUTIFUL.

We HAVE to make time for ourselves.  If it's a long work day, then a quick 20 min run/walk won't suck up a lot of time, and you'll feel better.  I progressed from walking to running so now my 2-3 miles takes less time . My kids have been home for winter break and my runs have been clipped except for when my hubby is home late afternoon.  I found myself getting cranky about it so I put myself to bed early last night, got up early and did a quick run before DH left for work, kids are still asleep.  I feel so happy that it's 7:30 am and I've already handled my workout.  YAY . Now I can get on my bike later, take the kids on their scooters and burn a few more calories.  PS, my husband never gains either. SO ANNOYING.

abortion is stupid..do some form of birth control if youre not gonna want a baby..dont kill it cuz youre a ******* imbecile and dont know how to live in society..get a soul

That's right, young girls and their little boyfriends DON'T know how to live in society and handle all of the issues.  This morally corrupt crap that's shown on TV, internet, magazines etc push push push sexuality down our childrens throats everyday long before they know how to handle it.  We show images of girls looking like little hoochie mamas, acting like little bratz and it's all about glamour and surface glitz.  But then, people got pregnant in the 40's, 50's and 60's too.  They just got sent to convents, out of state or into a marriage they weren't ready for.   This society is more sexual than ever but god forbid we educate them, have condoms in public places or anything.  NO, then we go back to our puritan morals and say that we're condoning them having sex.  It's so lame.

PS, calling people ******* imbeciles is not really a good way to exist in society either.  :)

My daughters tell me that my butt is chubby but still cute.  ( They're 4 & 7). Seriously.  Now I've lost 14 lbs and they tell me it's getting smaller.  I try to really talk about the health aspect of my losing to them so they don't get the wrong idea.  The other day, my very helpful daughter stood over me waving cookies up and down with each stomach crunch that I did.  I couldn't stop laughing!!!!   The she told me that she would get donuts next time, but since that's not usually my problem I told her a cold beer would probably work better.

Hey there!  Just stick to the logging food and working out.  It will happen I promise!  I had 40 to lose, I've lost 14 of that.  Started the last week of Sept.  I've spent almost my whole 30's getting pregnant, being pregnant or just FEELING pregnant.  I turn 38 this March and I refuse to head into my forties fat frumpy and unhappy!  It's time for me!   It's even more important for you, two girls under the age of 2 is HARD and not getting enough sleep will also mess with your metabolism.  Making time for you is important!  Good luck!  Cool

Look for ingredients you can't pronounce...Avoid partially hydrogenated oils, High fructose corn syrup, MSG if you can (not always possible but I limit it). Try to eat as much fresh as possible but if you're really busy it's okay to keep some frozen Kashi meals around if it keeps you out of the McDonalds drive through. If you can buy organic try to. If MOST of your choices come from whole/organic/unprocessed foods then the occasional food that's not won't have as much impact. If you're not a chef then try to keep it simple as someone else said. Make some chicken breasts at the start of your week and keep them for salad toppers, sandwich fillers etc. Keep a few sweet treats around that you can have a small piece of without starting a binge. I have certain sweets that I can just eat a little of and some that I can't so I don't buy those things. Eat some things you love buy tweak the receipe to be healthier. I lOVE ceasar salads but they can have up to 1200 calories depending on who makes them so I make them myself and still love them. It's a huge learning process and you will come a long way here. MOST people are very helpful. Good luck!

Wow, sounds good!  I'll have to find some apple butter!?!?!  One of my favorite low cal lunches is chicken breast sauteed with a little pesto, more garlic and cabbage (bell peppers too if you have some)   Warm up a tortilla and wrap it up.  Filling, satisfying and doesn't add up to much.  The pesto/garlic really gives the flavor burst I need, the oil from the pesto keeps it from being dry and cabbage is cheap, healthy and last a long time in the fridge.

EAT!  Make sure your calories burned are correct and then EAT so you're body doesn't starve.  More protien and even a few nuts etc will satisfy you more.  Also people talk about cycling food, more one day and less the next and I tried that over New years,  I didn't over eat but had small deficit if any and the next few days it was easy to not go above my cals, I wasn't hungry.  AND I lost another lb.  I think I'll try it more often.  Sometimes when I eat small mealsall day I get annoyed because I never really feel full enough.  Keep it up, you're doing great!
