Weight Loss Things you can do now... that you couldn't before you lost weight! Apr 08 2008

* I don't dread going shopping with my skinny friends anymore, as I don't feel as out of place in what used to be 'their' type of shop (they're mine too now!)

* Run for 30 mins without stopping - just a month ago I would have laughed if someone told me I'd be able to run for 5 without stopping!

* Not feel like the fattest person at work, and feel like everyone is watching what you eat so they can think 'god no wonder she's so big!'

* Cross my legs properly

* Biggest of all, I no longer live in the shadows of my two older and very beautiful sisters.

Thanks to all of your replies, I am certainly going to get myself to a bodypump class and start doing lunges etc, will keep you all up to speed on how it's going!  Have just bought a pair of 'target' jeans 2 sizes smaller than what I am now, and will need to do some serious leg and butt work to get into them - so I'm def going to take on board all of your advice!

Unfortunately I work odd hours and miss every spinning class my gym offers Undecided so thats out I'm afraid; but I have been spending a lot of time on the elliptical and am hoping that will pay off!  What is classed as a medium heart rate?  I'm pretty new to all of this, sorry!

Thanks guys, it's really appreciated!  Just started going to the gym, so will try all of the weights Bodyscience suggested and make sure I'm doing extra time on the bike!  I've been going on the elliptical trainer q. a bit, will this be the same or better/less effective than the bike do you think?

Thanks!

Weight Loss Advised To Stop Exercising In Order To Lose More??? Nov 20 2007

Hi, was just having a quick read over the thread and i'd like to thank Jenmcc for your breakdown of the body's composition when you exercise.  I have recently joined the gym, and was unbelievably disheartened to find that after a week of eating well and exercising daily I stayed the same weight.  As you can imagine I wasn't impressed and was feeling very down about it; but you have made my day!  Now i understand why measuring inches is just as important (if not more important) than weighing in.

 Thanks once again!
