I signed up for a Turkey trot in the morning so that I won't feel guilty if I overdo it at dinner. Also planning on filling up on the veggies with a small portion of stuffing (my favorite) and dessert - have to have a piece of pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving. |

How are you planning on detoxing? I am hooked on juicing and have to say I don't feel hungry and have more energy than ever! Even if you just replaced one meal with a juice (mixing fruit and veggies works best), I am sure you will do your body good. |

Wow - didn't realize I haven't posted since Nov 17th - I am down one more pound at 119 since last post. Still 4 pounds to go for my ideal goal weight of 115. Would like to be 113 - 115 at maintenance. 4 pounds by Christmas - hmmm - is it doable? I am exercising everyday and only having a small treat after dinner at night. I guess only time will tell - have a great day everyone! |

Just realized today is Wednesday - weigh in day :) - I was 120 this morning; down a pound from last week. 7 pounds to go. I've just been cutting out the snacking and desserts and once I hit my calorie goal for the day I am done for the day - even if its 3pm - yikes. Going out to dinner tonight so need to stay strong - Hope everyone else is seeing the scale go down or at least maintaining - wishing you much luck and success! |

Personally - NO WAY!!!! I am an avid tennis player and runner and I never mix the 2 - I think they stole the idea from the tennis world! When I run, I want to feel strong, athletic and fit - the skirt just doesn't do that for me. Leave them for the tennis courts and keep the runners in the short shorts - Not only more comforable but more practical IMO - :) |

Original Post by aasil: aasil - why are you on this thread posting if you are an atheist. Are you just trying to antagonize people. The thread wants to know how God has helped you - if God hasn't helped you, so be it - move on. This doesn't seem like the arena to tout atheism. We can respect your feelings, now respect theirs! |

I found your post quite interesting. I have suffered pain under my right rib for quite awhile. I hear its quite common. Could be gallbladder, pancreatitis, liver, small colon, etc. One thing I never heard of before is a B12 deficiency. I'm vegetarian and now I'm wondering if that's the culprit. Have you had the blood work to rule that out? It could be gallstones too. If the pain went away, maybe it could have been a gallbladder attack. Good luck. Wish I could be more helpful. As far as fiber, can't you eat fruit, beans and legumes? Not too familiar with celiac disease so its probably best to just check with your doctor or a nutrionist. Even searches on line often help. Again, best of luck to you and feel better |

More importantly is your daughter as upset as you are? She did invite them. She could have said she doesn't have the room or wouldn't be around and given them local hotel information. If your daughter is an adult, she should be able to handle it. Next time tell her to just say no.

| I've never really thought about it because I have a deadbolt lock on my door. I have to agree with sun123 that you can't get locked out this way. Also, I have a garage door opener with a key code to open the door - can also gain access that way as well. When vacationing, we always leave a key with a neighbor - if you have one you can trust that's also a possibility. | |||

| I've found that if I eat foods that aren't mentally satisfying to me, eventually I end up binging on all the bad stuff. What works for me is eating what I want but counting the calories. So when you hit your daily limit - stop. The idea of eating carrots, is that you can eat a ton of them with little calories. One slice of pizza for lunch will not blow your diet. If you start making small healthy choices everyday, eventually you will develop a liking to a more healthy diet. Hope this helps. | |||

| If that isn't enough reason to stop purging I don't know what else you would need. Your body is the temple of your soul - love it and take good care of it! Stop abusing your body, its trying to tell you its had enough. | |||

Is it because I came from poverty? Sometimes I feel coming from abuse and poverty also gives you an automatic disadvantage in life. I don't want to believe that though because it's a victim attitude, although I think a part of it is reality. I don't think of myself as a poor deprived ghetto girl who made good. I think of myself as somebody who from an early age knew I was responsible for myself, and I had to make good. |

| Have you not been listening? People will see you the way you want them to see you. Its all about perception. Take some acting classes if you feel you can't pull off anything but a macho image. I know plenty of big guys who are more like baby dewey than arnold schwartzenegger. They are the biggest woosies and have women who mother and smother them. You want to be a comedian, look at that goofy guy borat, or how milton berle acted. You want to be sexy, buy some designer tight jeans and prada shoes. IMAGE is everything. Try to be a little more imaginative. If you want it bad enough you'll figure it out. | |||

| Yes, you could definitely get more of a waif look by losing weight, but lets face it - you're never going to be built like Howard Stern or Marilyn Manson. Then again, I''m never going to look like Elle McPherson or Kate Moss - some things we just have to learn to deal with. Make the best of what you've got to work with, that's all any of us can do. | |||

| I take that back. I was able to see your other pictures posted and the DC pic with the facial hair looks the most true to your writing. The yosemite picture makes you look like a preppy jock. The other picture with the facial hair makes you look more artsy; intellectual and deep. Go with that look or the top pic. that suits you better. Don't wear polo sweaters if you don't want to come off masculine. I also take back the dying of hair as the strawberry blond suits what you are going for. I don't think you'd look more ridiculous getting a facial and waxings. Remember something, to thine own self be true. | |||

Just have to put in my 2 cents - saw your pic and you're writing does not fit your pic. Not at all what I expected. If you really want to appear more feminine, why don't you model yourself after other big guys who come off that way. Dennis Rodham comes to mind. He's way bigger, 6'7 or 6'8. He doesn't like his height and claims he's only 6'6. You could dye your hair and get some piercings. Wax off all body hair and wear mascara and lip gloss. Not lipstick, just a clear gloss. Paint your fingernails (clear) like the metrosexuals out there, and even if you get buff, you will still appear more metrosexual than masculine. You can definitely change your image. If you believe you are not masculine, then others will believe it, but if you can't believe it, how do you think you can convince others. Its all in your perception. Hope this helps. |
