| Weight Loss | Will the stretch marks fade a bit? | Oct 28 2008 13:38 (UTC) |
|
I have plenty of stretch marks everywhere and a little sun or tanning makes them far less noticeable. If you are anti-tanning or sunning - the spray tan had the same effect on me, and even one of the newer gradual tanning lotions. It just seemed to make all the skin the same color and make them "less" noticeable....but they are still there, I don't think they ever go away. |

| Foods | Splenda = EVIL. | Oct 28 2008 13:33 (UTC) |

I asked my doctor and nutritionist about splenda, after I read a story about it being bad. According to them, the original testing was done on mice, and they were fed enough to equate to a human eating a whole garbage can of splenda - and this was over a small time frame! Well no wonder they got sick. I don't think in my lifetime I could come remotely close to eating a whole garbage can of splenda....

My entire family likes to "butter" their hotdog buns with peanut butter. Its the weirdest thing I have ever seen, and thankfully I didn't inherit a taste for it. UG! |

I don't know if I am totally off base here or not, but I tried your link. My BMR was 1842 - but if I read the information right, (which i might not have!) I still had to take that number times 1.2 (for sedentary) and that number ends up being around 2200 which is what CC tells me is what my body burns as sendentary - AND then I have to minus 500 to make my calorie goals 1700 to lose weight. So when I used your link, essentially I got exactly the same calorie needs from BOTH CC and the link. I also tried this with your information - I took 1450 times 1.2 (sedentary), that equals around 1700, and CC is probably telling you to eat 1200, which is their standard deficit to lose weight. (but not necessarily the right calories for you. I think you still have to use your best judgment.) Again, I could be totally wrong here and be missing something. But its just my two cents! |

If you are going to McDonalds, just get either a sausage burrito or a egg mcmuffin (not a whole value meal with the hash brown.) I think both of those items are 300 calories, and even while they aren't super nutritional, you can make up for it the rest of the day... |

Thanks everyone for your posts! I think I will add 2 days of weight training, total body and see how it goes. I am just reluctant to do it, and I just got to the point where I actually LIKE doing my cardio (amazing!) I have been continually losing, so I was a little unsure if I will plateau out, or stop loosing if I dont add weights...I actually would prefer not to at this point...but as you can see from my first sentence...I am sucking it up and going for it. Does anyone know if you can continually lose without adding weight training?? |

| Foods | Im Going Out To Eat At Burger King Or Mcdonalds...question [=. | Dec 04 2007 14:46 (UTC) |

Go with the McDonalds meal. It has less cholesterol, fat, and it has no trans fat....I can't believe that Burger King still uses trans fat, can that even be right? It says 4 grams of trans fat on the nutritional values....EKK!!! |

| Weight Loss | Planning for Alcohol | Nov 29 2007 15:45 (UTC) |

I have gained weight from drinking in the past...but it included drinking AND not watching anything else that was going into my body.... Giving up drinking for me was the thing that made sticking to a diet the hardest, and I failed several diets trying to cut out drinking altogether, which to some people seems like and such an easy thing to do. AND No, I am not an alcoholic!!! BUT I love going out for the social atmosphere, meeting people, sitting a bar enjoying a drink with my friends, talking about our day at work. I decided if I considered this important to me, then I would have to figure out a way to work it in. So what I did was, I talked it over with my friends - we decided we would choose one specific night to always go out on, instead of here and there. That right away helped me limit my drinking to just one night a week instead of one night with Dawn, one night with Karon, etc. After I set my one night out to Thursday nights, I can allot for the drinking during that day. I always exercise more on Thursdays (calorie wiggle room!), and really watch what i eat. It helps alot knowing what day it is beforehand so I can plan! I make sure the nutritional values are exceptional (because the nutritional value of booze is soooo not good! or nonexistant LOL), and watch calories so I can leave calorie room for up to 4 drinks, never more...but sometimes less. I always drink vodka and diet, or rum and diet - once and awhile I will have a light beer. Some of the flavored vodkas and rums are good with diet soda as well. (They add a few more calories the the regular 60 for plain booze, but they are fun. (Try bacardi Limon and diet coke) So...with that said, I have continually lost weight since I started CC, which has included this one night a week out with my friends. I am down almost 30 pounds right now...I think its good to fit things in that I enjoy instead of cutting them out which was what was killing me whenever I tried any other diet or plan and it told me NO WAY can you drink...NO WAY can you have this or do that. Keep to the vodka/rum & diets, plan for your drinking beforehand and ENJOY LIFE!!! |

| Foods | I want a doughnut!!!!!!! | Nov 29 2007 15:13 (UTC) |

| Have the donut! Log the calories and do a little extra exercise, or make up for it in all high nutritional foods today. Just make up for it somewhere else! I think part of sticking to a lifetime plan means allowing ourselves some of the things we enjoy...just in moderation! | |||

| I've actually had to up my calorie intake a TON to lose weight. It sounds weird I know, but it worked for me, and I didn't gain any weight in the beginning, just started losing. | |||

| I don't know if anyones mentioned this, I didn't read through every post - but "Shake N Bake" your chicken. You can find it in the baking aisle of the grocery stores and there are different flavors, I think all of them make a great "almost-the-same-as" fried chicken. | |||

Clothes are already getting loose! SOOOO HAPPY!!!! | |||

Okay this sounds weird, but on the Wendy's dollar menu. I get a side salad (its listed as 35 calories) and then i get a small chili (listed at 220) and dump most of it on top of the salad. It tastes really good and you can't hardly eat it all! So its a whole filling meal at 255 calories. If you don't want to dump the chili on top like me, I am sure its just as good seperate - lol....OH and its 2 dollars plus tax...how do you beat that???
