I stole a coaster. These teenagers were having a ridiculously loud party across the street, in their garage, and I said to my friends, "I bet I could just run into that house and steal something." They didn't believe me, but I dashed across the street, into their very dark and vacant house and grabbed the first small thing I came across: a small, cardboard coaster with a picture of a dolphin on it. What's your favorite word? |

Original Post by tyrdrop: http://www.healthy-eating-made-easy.com/fruit -and-vegetable-servings.html This website is invaluable to me! I didn't realize that the servings were actually rather small compared to what I thought in my head. 1/4 cup raisins is one serving of fruit! That's tiny to me! :P

My husband. Who can eat three times as much as me, and that huge three-person serving is of calorie and fat-laden foods that I can't touch, and never gains a damn pound. (I do love his skinny ass, though.) |

I worked at a movie theatre the year I got the biggest. The popcorn was okay, because I hate the chemical crap they pass for butter there, and I would just eat little cup servings, but having nachos available at all times, as well as soda, candy and oftens times we would "trade out" with local restaurants, meaning we gave the workers movie tickets, and they gave us food. So we had pizza all the time. And with 8-hour shifts, it's hard to maintain your will power. By the end of the day, I'd be guzzling mixtures of orange soda and Mello Yello and chowing on chips dripping in processed cheese. (That whole sugar rush/caffeine/food-is-comfort thing will kill you!) Fortunately, towards the end of ym employment (I worked there for two years), I was starting to diet, and switched to just plain popcorn instead of nachos and candy, and diet soda. I think that helped keep me from being too very huge! |

"I'm not so sure about the "eat more" thing. That wouldn't stall your weight loss after 8 days. Seriously guys. I'm getting sick of that opinion. I find people yelling "starvation mode!" at the most inappropriate time. Its like a panacea." I wasn't crying 'starvation mode'. I was simply trying to make note that 1200 is the absolute minimum calories someone should eat, and that's if they aren't working out. If I'm understanding that incorrectly, please let me know otherwise. |

The only tip I would give you is never say "I'm starting tomorrow". I used to do that all the time, and it was like giving myself an excuse to binge on whatever I wanted for the rest of the day, because it was okay, I was starting my diet tomorrow... Start today! Start right now, and decide to make a commitment to your health! |

My brain hurts. I'm thinking we need to start teaching Theoretical Nutritional Math courses at colleges nationwide! It would be more useful than the College Algebra I was forced to take, and it would be only slightly more confusing. Seriously, though, I appreciate the information. |

I usually notice 3-5 lbs., and it starts creeping up about a week before my period starts. But, I do notice that if I still with my calorie counting and working out, my weight is usually lower than when it started, at the end of TTOM. |

Well, I think if you are working out everday, and only eating 1000 - 1200 calories, you may considering upping your daily calories. |

I've always found that it's a really, really, really bad idea to try to offset drinking by not eating anything beforehand. On an empty stomach, you get drunk faster, with less alcohol, which leads to lower willpower and bad decision making. So instead of eating a nice, healthy dinner and stopping at a couple drinks, you got wasted on a lower amount of alcohol and didn't stop when you should have. One night of binge drinking will not make you fat, but it's certainly unhealthy, and making a habit of it will catch up to you, if not in weight gain, then in an unhealthy liver, or even just social embarassment at being a lush. |

| Weight Loss | my measurements have not changed!!! lost weight though | Apr 04 2008 16:40 (UTC) |
|
I'm with you! I've lost 16 pounds since starting CC, and nothing has changed except my waist measurement, which is NOT where I want to lose, lol. My breasts and hips have stayed the same, which is annoying, because that's where I want to lose weight! But, I just keep thinking, this is just the start, lose that next 16 pounds, and then evaluate! I'm still about 50 pounds from my goal weight, so if I get down 50 pounds, and STILL have large breasts and hips, then I'll worry. :P |

question. as it turns out, this is the perfect day to be at my low, because i have my sorority's formal tonight! my dress is this gorgeous silk thing-- which is entirely unforgiving. basically, if i eat, you will see it. Well, personally, I don't think one day of over-eating, or not eating will make you look thinner or more bloated. However, certain foods can cause a 'bloating' such as dairy items, and other hard-to-digest foods--such as beans, nuts, seeds, fruits, brussels sprouts, oats, barley, honey and yeast--can also cause gas and an inflated stomach. I would say, maybe eat several small meals throughout the day. Here's an article I found on avoiding bloating before your wedding day, which I think may help with this question, even though you're not getting married. ;) It suggests not skipping meals, so take that how you will: |

Hi guys! I know I've been absent for about a month. There were some very hard things happening in my life, including a 3-week seperation from my husband. Fortunately, we've working things out, and not only that, but my previous experience on Calorie Count has ingrained in me some great habits, so I didn't gain a whole bunch of weight during that time! In fact, I've lost 1.5 pounds in the last month, which doesn't sound like a lot, but at least I didn't gain!! I'm currently at the lowest adult weight of my life, at 202 pounds. I can't wait to get rid of those last 3 pounds and be under 200! Also, my sister is going to start riding bikes with me, and a very flattering thing, she told me I inspired her to start eating better and exercising! I'll be back more often again, I promise! |
