Yeah I've only just started using resistance bands with my Tae-Bo work-outs - and I swear I'm already forming formidable lats! Maybe it's just my wide shoulders I dunno. I'm hoping this will pick up my metabolism and help me to lose weight faster!

MMMM - I LOVE my morning omelette!  I don't saute  my veggies, it takes too long. Besides, I usually go with sweet peppers and/or mushrooms and unlike onions arent so ''ucky'' crunchy in a cooked omelette. I just chop everything up and throw it in a bowl with the raw egg/egg white and beat it and dump it in the pan that way (cover)! Here's how I make MINE:

1 whole egg

3 egg whites

2 slices reduced fat cheese (usually provolone or cheddar/one of each)

red/yellow/orange sweet peppers diced (maybe 50 grams)

and a serving of ketchup on the side!

I have a scale that measures things by the gram, so I know exactly how many grams of egg white and pepper i'm getting whenever I make an omlette - anal right? But, what the hey, it works for me!

I usually have a cup of coffee with this that has 2 servings of fat free half and half and maybe 15 grams of Whey low granular(sugar made healthy!)((tastes awesome too!))

PLUS on occasion I'll have a serving of reduced sodium/fat bacon on the side too!  --- If I have the omlette, bacon AND coffee, my whole breakfast is usually under 400 calories

Foods Fess up! What did you eat on Halloween? Nov 03 2009

I was good until evening time both Friday and Saturday. I threw a Halloween party at my place and we had pizza and wings on Friday. My hubby insisted on getting a pumpkin pie (he loves it since he never had it in England!!) - so i had a slice of that, I also had a shot and a few sips of beer and wine. Fell asleep early cuz I am always the first to fall asleep! LOL

Saturday I was good all day and did lots of house chores - and forgot to get in a healthy dinner before it was time to go trick-or-treating with my daughter. So as we were walking btw houses, we were sharing the candy/chips she was getting! I guess at least we were (kind of) walking it off, and it was a REALLY unhealthy replacement ''dinner'' - no caloric goodness whatsoever.

Oh yeah, and I totally forgot that last night i staved off dinner till late cuz I waited for the hubby to get out of work, and we went to my sisters house and had ham/scalloped potatoes & corn. I bought a chocolate mousse cake to share (I was responsible for dessert) - but only had a small slice and left the rest with sis. She's gaga over my 3 1/2 month old son, and really wanted to spend time with HIM *ahem* - never mind the rest of us. So dinner was her excuse to get us to come over! LOL

Oh and today I did well all day, I had 2 peanut butter cups, but counted them into my caloric intake, and only went 22 calories over my regular 1600 daily allotment : ) yay!

Back on track now - if i lose 4 more more pounds I'm halfway to my goal!

Well, for both your sakes, I hope these gentleman (and I hope they are that) won't care so much about your physical appearance, and perhaps more about your personality! I met my husband online, and he's from England, he saw me at my heaviest, and watched me lose weight before he came over. I had made that decision (to lose the weight), before I met him.  Do it for you, not others, it's more satisfying AND permanent that way! Since then I've married him and we've had a child, and he  loves me and my body no matter what shape it's in!

Fitness Does anyone else do Tae-Bo? Sep 20 2009
21:30 (UTC)

I discovered Tae- Bo in spring 2007. I managed to lose 60 pounds by the end of that year with it! I went from 188 to 120!! Then I got married and had a baby - and now I'm doing it AGAIN! In the last 8 weeks I have lost 8 pounds! (40 left to go!) Go for it! It does wonders for my body and self esteem! Not to mention my balance : )

No offense to anyone here BUT: I got to 120 and I'm 5'3 - and ppl (and as I look back at old pics i agree) used to say I looked anorexic! If I was a BMI of 20 I'd be 113! I'm not so sure that would look to hot on me!

I lost 65 pounds over 2 years ago - and it took me about a year and a half. Now I have to lose 50 pounds AGAIN because I just had my son a little under 2 months ago! I know I can do it again though, because I've done it before! I just have to stick to a healthy diet and start my work outs slowly so that I can become what I once made myself before...SLOWLY and healthily! You can do this! I've done it, and plan on doing it again! BTW - I've lost my first 5 already just eating healthy in the last week and a half - : D DON'T GIVE UP!

P.S. There are pics in my profile from when I was heavy the first time and what I looked like when I lost all the weight!

um ok, I first of all have to say that I am happy I am pregnant - but worried. I was down to 120 lbs a little over a year ago and everyone told me i was looking rather gaunt. So I let myself go and be lazy for a year! I gained back 20 pounds Cry. My fault I know - but then i got preggerz and now i'm in my 15th week and I can't stop eating UBER unhealthy! I'm close if not OVER 150 pounds now and it's kind of freaking me out at this point. I need intervention and seriously feel like i've given up.  I know I shouldn't LOSE wieght while pregnant, and i don't know if it's safe to even stop/stall wieght gain at this point. I want to work out but it's been a while and i need something that's effective and safe at getting me toned up again and geared up for (especially) after I have the baby! I just need to cry now I think....help!

5' 3 134 lbs age 28 - 1 child (7 the summer) the range in sizes i wear is ridiculous. Depending on what time of month, what brand, and how often I've been working out lately. I can squeeze into a size 2 (don't ask me how) and i can go all the way up to a 10 dress size (formal wedding attire) you figure it out...*sighs* 4, 6 & 8 are regular jean sizes though

I ate almonds before a work out once and it was the worst thing I ever did to myself! My stomach felt too heavy and i don't think i even had an ounce! I don't know what it was...maybe too much fiber?? lol     I do coffee before workouts. Maybe with a tablespoon of peanut butter. Sometimes I'll have a large banana if i don't do the PB. If I have anything though, I try to wait at least 45 minutes after I've had my snack before I do my workout, that way my stomach doesn't feel sloshy.

well, as much as giving blood feels great, they DO have the guidelines for a reason. Just be careful not to over extend yourself for awhile...and try to gain 15 pounds, seems like it would be healthier for you overall anyways! Your selflessness shouldn't be marred by the potential of you getting sick... ;)

I guess I can be thankful that 6 months ago I was 120, and I know I can do it again, I just gotta stay focused. I'm about the same I was a year ago too, so that's good, considering my 1 year wedding anniversary is May 26th!  Back to 133.6 this morning...that makes me feel better....damn Chinese food anyways. I should stay broke, it's better all around that way! (lol)

Foods If one food could be banished what should it be? May 18 2008
14:13 (UTC)

There are several things that should be banned. I'd have to say my top one would be Chinese (because I like all the worse ones for you). It's soooooo full of sodium and they usually have a buffet! ACK! Plus, when I finish, i get kind of ill afterwards...probably because I can't stop and overeat... Cry

However, I can say any form of take out AND soda of any kind would be best banned....can you imagine how quickly the obesity epidemic would come to a screeching halt! Sheesh!

On a side note, pizza and ice cream are two more things that would be better off not existing in my world. However...if someone told me tomorrow there would be no more mass production of ice cream, I may have to set up shop with a secret ice cream making center of my own! *muahahaha* I can never say no to ice cream...truly!

Pregnancy & Parenting In love with the wrong one and preg NOW? May 17 2008

Ditch the loser. If he won't leave you alone, tell him your pregnant with another man's baby! Or maybe don't tell him at all....only if he's persistent, although, in this case, it sounds like he won't be. Trust me, even if you think you could get help from him like child support, don't count on it. My ex is constantly bugging me about seeing his kid, but he does drugs and won't take meds for his bi-polar disorder. Thus, by court order, making it impossible for him to see his daughter....he doesn't get the connection...do good, see your kid, do bad, don't see your kid, and make life harder on yourself and everyone involved(back and fourth to court all the freaking time!). He doesn't work and gets SSD......and can't even pay $25 a month in child support on time!

My point is, do you want to end up in a **** situation like mine? Or would you rather get out of it now before he even realizes he's gotten you pregnant? If he has no apparent strings attached and you make it clear you want nothing to do with him anymore, he will hopefully leave you alone...forever. And hun, I know it's hard to imagine now, but things WILL get better..I promise, I've been there. I just wish I'd left when I could've...life would be so much different now.

Be strong and think of what's best for you and your child. In your heart, you already know what that answer is.

Love and luck to you,

Stephany

sheriglass, yeah I'm finding more and more that picking store brands is all I CAN afford to get anymore. Just takes a bit longer to put everything into CC and tag it, and usually it doesn't get a rating..oh well.   As for getting tired of old routines...definitely tired of Tae-Bo I think. I did that for almost 2 years before I got lazy with it. I've been trying some circuit training with my husband  and throwing in the occasional Tae-Bo. More recently though, I'm all about going on like 2 hour nature walks with the family, maybe a little Frisbee if there's enough daylight left when we're done. Seems like when the warm weather comes around, everyone wants to "hang out" again, which , of course, demands either take out, or a dinner that you didn't measure and prepare for yourself! *sighs*

heh, it took me like 3 days to not be tired after Saturday night, and everyone was like "are you pregnant?"...wtf..I'd better damn well NOT be! lol (it'd be a miracle) and I have a wedding to be in, in October! Christ...surprise birthday party 2 nite at my aunts..I stuffed myself rather silly....I am SO not gunna be happy with myself in the morning. Looks like I'm booked till next Tuesday too! Grrrr...

Meh, 133.0 (saturday)gained a few ounces from last week..actually 134 today(monday). I'm running low on healthy food and my excuse is that money is a huge factor on what I can buy(thats healthy).  Plus I feel deprived, so I was a total lard butt sunday (I went out saturday night) and ate a lot and vegged a lot. I've been tired ever since...I'm getting to old to stay out late and drink any more. *sighs*

Weight Loss people in their 20s looking to lose 100+ lbs? May 02 2008

um, can I just throw in some caution here? I tried the limiting myself to 1200 calories diet. It sucks, and you won't be doing your metabolism any favors. Make sure to consult with CC to find out how many calories you need for your current weight, height, and activity level. If you limit too much you will actually slow your metabolism down! I had to up my calories from 1200 to 1400, and I was told to make sure my deficit wasn't more than 500 calories a day. Just be careful ladies; your bodies need the nutrients! I'm here if you need help finding stuff ;)

Weight Loss Unrealistic Goal? May 01 2008

I, too, am 5'3'', and am currently 133. When I got down to 120 last December people told me I looked too skinny, and it kind of annoyed me; after all, I'd worked so hard to get to that point from 188! So I ate like a slob for 3 months and felt like crap for it. Maybe I was addicted to dieting, maybe not, hard to say. Now I'm trying to get back down to 120 and maintain it. I think this time I will try more muscle toning rather than limiting my calories and cardio. Cardio is good, but without the muscle and my medium frame, maybe that's why ppl thought i was getting "too skinny". Maybe with more muscle mass people won't notice so readily. ...All this and I'm planning on getting pregnant possibly by sometime around the end of the year(which seriously makes me wonder if what I'm bothering to do is actually sane), so I have that goal to reach before that happens!~

This thread really helped me a lot, because I've often wondered in the past why ppl thought 120 was too skinny on me....105 is the lowest I could get at this height, so I obviously would still be within a healthy weight range!

Being broke all the time helps you pick and choose the smaller portion sizes more readily (lol) That's part of my excuse. That and seeing the scale go down all week is enough to make me NOT want to screw it up for the weekend..I imagine where I could've gotten to by now if I had only stayed on track through the holidays. Dang it...oh well, moving forward ;)
