Thank you, thank you, thank you...I need motivation.  I lost almost 50lbs and have put about 15 of it back on.  I have decided that logging and corresponding with others is the best medicine for me!!!  Makes me accountable!!!!

Actually I will take it! Sorry for the late post. Took a ten hour rode trip last Tues. for Thanksgiving and made it back late, or should I say early (due to snow and icy rodes, Monday morning).  So after ten hours on the road each way, and all the yummy Thanksgiving trimmings, AND finishing up TTOM, I hope to have better numbers by next Monday!

Here's to a successful week!!

Hey nugget and diva, our current weights are quite similar. Just curious....what are your goals, stats etc?  I am a measly 5' 2.5" Wink I started at 242. I am 37, happily married and have 6 children.  My ultimate goal is 115.  I was never heavy growing up. Until I had children I weighed between 112-115.

What have you been doing to lose the weight? Have you found one thing that seems to work better than another? Cardio, weights or both?  How about your caloric intake for the day?  Do you try to stay around 1200 or do you consume more?  Sorry for all the questions but it would be nice to "visit" with others in a similar weight range.

I hate to use excuses, but I have noticed a consistent pattern when I am around TTOM.  I lose absolutely NOTHING before and during TTOM, but when done it "falls" off!!

Does anyone else have similar issues? It's really annoying but at least I know it will come off........eventually!  Laughing

Weight Loss I gained weight? Im confused..... Oct 31 2008

The other posts are right on target as far as an "explanation" is concerned. I know it can be confusing and EXTREMELY disheartening, but don't quit!!!!  I remember experiencing the same weight gain when working out. It won't last long and eventually you will see the weight start to come off.   Keep it up and it will pay off. To date I have lost almost 50lbs since I started on my journey and have to remind myself that the 'momentary' gain from working out is a good thing!!!  Good luck!!

This is soooo frustrating to me, but completely predictable!  I either seem to maintain or even gain when I really start to exercise consistently.  Does this happen to anyone else or am I the abnormal one?

My reason for losing weight.....want to live long and healthy! Seriously though, I have six beautiful children, partially the reason for weight gain (6 in 81/2 years, no twins), and a loving husband.  I am tired of the way I feel, look and I know underneath the fat layers I AM SEXY!! The reason for the weight gain other than babies...stressful life situations (but who doesn't have them, right?) and bad choices on my part. I've been in a slump recently due to non-stop company over the summer and have just really started again on my continued weight-loss journey. No gain or loss since May, ready for the pounds to roll!!!!

Foods Where can i find Stevia?? Sep 08 2008

Stevia is quite sweeter than sugar.  I would suggest "taste-testing" as you go.  Start small and add as you need.

I can find packets of stevia at my local grocery store.  Believe it or not, it is located in the baking aisle.  You can also find it at Trader Joe's as well as Whole Foods if you have access to these stores.  If I recall properly, I was able to find the packets of stevia at Wal-Mart once upon a time.

Weight Loss So I bought a bike!!! May 23 2008
04:36 (UTC)

Congrats on everyone's weight loss!! My knees at one time were bothering me too with the "wogging" as olivia77 put it, but they are ok now. I think I would rather bike than swim at this point too.

I think I did get a good deal on the bike. It was about $90. It is a 21 speed mountain bike (according to my husband). I have a few of the gears figured out, at least what I need. I have definitely taken it out. I ride my kids to and from school. This morning I was on the bike for about an hour and a half, time flew by. I am finding I really like it, except for the numbness on the behind!! :) Not too bad!

The price of gas is a great reason to buy a bike! I do sooo many little jots around that it has started to pay itself off already. I don't know that I could do 14 miles of errands anytime soon, but I did do about 3 this morning all within a mile or so radius. Kids forgetting things they need for school...have to bike to the store and back to the school...etc.

kae - keep in touch! Could use the motivation!!

Motivation ** 30-Something Trimming Back Down** Apr 08 2008
21:26 (UTC)

I am sooooooooooo with you!!!  I also have 6 children ranging in age 16 to 8.  I am 36 and currently weigh 200lbs.  Before I had children I bounced back and forth between 112-115 and was very comfortable there, oh, should mention I am only 5'2".  I had my first baby when I was 20 and my last before I turned 30, so consequently packed on the weight.

I started on my weight loss, getting healthy, endeavor last July/Aug. and since then have lost 42lbs.  Down from a size 24 to a 16.  I seem to have found myself in somewhat of a rut recently as far as keeping my calorie intake on the lower end.  In March I took a trip home for my youngest sisters wedding and since then have had a hard time focusing on healthy eating.  I haven't done extremely bad, but it is definitely not where I was before vacation.  I haven't gained weight back that was lost, but I am not losing as quickly as I would like.  I am consistent on exercise and last night ran a mile without stopping or killing over Sealed  so I was thrilled about that!!

It sounds as if you are on the right track and I would really like to have someone to chat with who understands the challenges of losing weight after numerous babies and a  very busy schedule!  My husband and I are headed to Hawaii the end of May so I am working on a time crunch to lose what I can before then.  Keep up the great work!!  Talk soon and feel free to email me.

Rachele

Probably the biggest thing for me, as far as exercise is concerned, especially when just starting, was doing things I enjoyed.  ie... playing racquetball, wallyball, walking etc.  Activities that got me moving, but didn't necessarily seem like exercise.  Now I enjoy the aerobics, walk/jogging, weights, but I most certainly would not have liked these at first.
