sweet-just wanted to add 1 thing after reading wht u just wrote, yes, eat MORE, but doesnt have to be only "healthy" food! have that cake, cookie, whatever it is, just have 2500 as your minimum. there r many 2500 cal plans around here, u dont really need a dietician to tell u what to eat, y wait til dec, start now! actively plan 2500 for tomm, each meal+snack, look around here for ideas, drink ensures if u want. |

hi, seeing as im NOT a medical doctor, id suggest opening up to him, telling him about ur eating disorder history ONTOP of the medical issues uve had. r u seeing a therapist" im very very sorry for all the hard times it sounds like uve been thru, but it is a tribute to ur strength that uve been able to power thru. i can tell u that after eating 2500+ on a consistant basis, the stomach distention does dissipate! 2500 is really seen as the minimum to gain. plan it out eating higher cal foods so u dont get too full. good luck! |

i really cant see how any weight could be seen as accurate unless its 1st thing when u get up, after u use the toilet, wearing relatively the same amount, or no clothing. |

Hi everyone! i did not weigh myself, seeing as i was 112 last week i know im not in any danger amd that i probly gained, but i really wantto focus on relaxing, eating what i want+when i want. i know i always eat enough from random tallying, i didnt want the # to freak me out so well see. got in a huge fight last night w my mom about all the food i buy+eat, i mean, my parents just boguht a 2nd home and i can buy food??!! i think i need to restart thinking about mving out, its so expensive tho! LINEY-hi, where do u live again? there is a korean supermarket that i wentto last week for fruit+fish, they have lots of things but all in other languages, some i dont want to get-like meat+foreign to me fish, but some of the prepackage stuff i might look into. my father openly admits his way of eating, but covers it up saying its his version of Weight Watchers! so not! great job w the ice cream! ive never seen these random flavors where i am. i also ate like, well like a teenager i suppose when i was one, lol, and yes a bit overweight like ive said, but boy did it taste good! ur doing so well w the fears! idk know what mine r, i guess diversifying my meals bc im too happy eating the same foods repeatedly, but cant think of anything else to eat??!! how long is ur shift at work? DRIVEN-sounds like u have a good plan 4 the day, keep the count going to ensure ur fetting enough throughout the day and dont have to stuff it in at night, or come up short! what did u add to bfast?? bessie mate-ur in college, does that mean roomate?? lol have fun! |

SWEETRANDI-hi, are u new, have u read the stickied threads on the topp of the forum? to gain weight, a female should start w/ 2500 cals daily and male 3000, add additional if ur active. the calculators on this site r not designed for those gaining weight. can i ask, y r u gaining weight? have u been ill, an eating disorder? a bmi of 20 is often seen as a minimum to gain to, 18.5 is really just the very very lowest before being classified underweight. |

hi nina- i dont see it as having anything to do metabolism?? its that when ur underweight, its not just ur limbs that r malnourished, its ur brain too. even eating 2600+ and gaining, if ur underweight and have been recently malnourished for a good amount of time, ur brain is at a loss, cant function or think properly. a lot of calories go into getting healthy, its not just for gaining weight but also to repair ur brain and other organs. eat more, gain more, get to a healthier weight. once ur brain starts to feel nourished itll be able to operate again. |

DRIVEN-i only jsut saw the wnd part of what u wrote, lol! i just bought 2 more containers of trail mix, id probly just stand in the kitchen and take nothing, if the "normal" foods were out of the pic. its not like i could just have what my parents r having either (they dont often have dinner). MAYA-hi! u have lots of HALF portions, 1/2 a granola bar (have a whole 1), how much of the oat bran do u have, a full portion? whats on ur lunch sandwich? like wheres the chicken/tuna salad or cheese or cold cuts? after lunch snack, have the full bar, 1/2cup oats, or have a PB+J sandwich, bowl of granloa+milk, have more full portions! e u having full portions of the foods at dinner? why fat free? |

DRIVEN-hi, i had a brunch for my mother a couple sundays ago, i had a smaller bfast bc the brunch was 1hr later and u know what, once i started eating, i got hungrier, lol, and ate a completely normal brunch eventho i had just eaten! my parents dont want help. my father's "diet" is working for him, they dont wantto change. anything im doing for myself is w/o them, if i used them as models or anything, id be no where. theyre great amazing ppl, dont get me wrong, just not in terms of eating or helping me w my disorder. soy pudding? are u lactose intolerant? pudding here is really low cal so i always add chocolate chips +stuff to it, what is it by u? OR, have something diff for ur snack, like the bday cake, a pb+j sandwich, cookies or candy bar? mm, i just love candy, i could live on candy bars+trail mix+pb! eating 2500 isnt a prob 4 me, i mean, thats y im scared for later on, im HUNGRY for that much, ya know? |

So much for intuitive eating today, had my regualr delic breakfast, then a bunch of almonds, then more trail mix+prunes, and then cake. mostly normal stuff other than the cake, it was sitting on the table so i ate it. DRIVEN-thanksgiving is good bc there will be food we dont normally have but as a time to see what/how others eat, not so good, my family is very disorered in eating. my father IS a binge/restricter, he knows it, admits it. my aunt is sort of the same, doesnt eat w others only drinks wine and then eats in the middle of the night, its terrible, no good examples. id say u couldve had a pre-bfast today b4 the brunch and at the brunch had some yogurt or taost w the oats, for ur night snack maybe add that granola altho im not sure what the soya prune thing is to begin with..good job today. |

you all sound MISERABLE! why not put on 5 lbs of health, in turn, youll be able to eat more on a REGULAR basis. you wont burn out in your workout have MORE energy and dare i say, be happy+ not upset about "overeating" (when infact its your body crying out for more fuel+nourishment) |

FLIGHT- again, great attitude and i agree about gaining bc of hopefully becoming more relaxed regarding eating and all. what have u been eating consistantly to gain? id subtratct 200 from THAT. i meant not to drop the cals a nd increase the excercise by too much, lol, think i left that work out initially! |

DRIVEN-hi, thanks. getting in ENOUGH cals is no longer my problem, so thats y i feel like intuitive eating could be a safe step, ya know? in terms of planning to be intuitive, yea, i was sort of thinking that thats how id need to go, its weird, im so scared of losing control i guess that even when i want to now, its just not happening, so i guess ill have to meet intuitive eating+living half way by planning some aspects of it. it is thanksgiving this week which will mean turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, some other foods that i dont normally have in the house or available to me so that could help i suppose. i see ppl here posting elaborate meals and other threads posting restricitive meals, its hard to come up w other foods to try, even w all these examples?? thanks! |

FLIGHT-congrats!!! great attitude!! only thing id suggest, IF you want to maintain, and im not seeing a bmi of 20 as a sort of minimum to health and think higher is more "normal" per se, but anyway, id suggest NOT reducing ur cals dranstically and not starting to overly increase, im not sure what ur plans r in those respects but i know thats where i messed up my last time around. congrats again! |

Good Morning everyone! This week is thanksgiving, well Thurs is, were making lots and lots of food!!! MYVALENTINE-hi, i actually do NOT plan or write my meals, i havent in a couple of yrs, i do stick to mainly the same things, out of routine, liking them, and not WANTING anything else, THAT is the prob, i dont want anything which makes it really hard to let go and be more intuitive??!! LINEY-yea, im looking at 20 as the bare minimum, not even knowing what "mainteneace" would be, id suggest, for anyone here when they get to that point, dropping by maybe 200-250 for a week and seeing how that goes, not dropping by 500+., avocado ice cream??? SOPHIE-hi, looks like ur feeling great, thats so good, just wantto make sure ur eating 2500+?? thanks! SARAH-hi, so hard to judge w/o knowing exact stats of ur foods, but to mme it does NOT look 2500, let alone 2800?? |

hi everyone, sounds like ur all doing great! im thinking, well im really trying to start eating intuitively. im really structured+rigid w foods, times, and i rarely if ever actually WANT something SPECIFIC, ya know? i want to loosen up but i cant seem to do it?? DRIVEN-hey, regarding the brunch, im assuming ur still planning on bfast when u get up befroe the brunch? i changed up my times last week to go out for brunch, it wasnt bad, meals all day were at diff times but it still all worked out, ate what i wanted at the restaurant, it just worked out, ull be ok. LINEY-saw ur weigh-in, congrats!! i have a feeling ill tie u on sunday, if i weigh, but im also thinking as scarey as it might be, that a bmi of 20 might not be appropriate for my body. |

ive read thru everything and thank u again. im not "weight restored" or whatever the hell even means, 18.5/20/22 bmi, who knows, so vague??!! maybe by some standards im "healthy", i dont feel like how FIDGET described tho. the description of running, laughing, the whole thing, really got me, altho i d ont need to eat every 10 mins or risk feeling ill naymore. ive already checked out as healthy, blood tests, ekg, whatever, always, so idk if thats accurate or anything. i want to live intuitivily, i want to relax+ be, eat/not eat, excercise/not excercise, but not have it a factor. i want to just be, and let go, and i cant seem to do it. ur all such amazing proof of life, thank u |

my point is that ur at SUCH a low weight that u can stand to gain a few pounds, STILL be healthy and slim, yet be able to eat a bit more w/o eating a box of cereal. ur very active as i said so i think ur currently undereating, yes, i do see ur height. |

hi youre at a perfectly healthy weight for 1 thing, there is a hugew range and i believe could even be at least 10lbs higher, regardless, ive seen some of ur other posts-ur VERY VERY active, it could be 2500++ IS appropriate for u. eat after ur excercise, every few hrs as stated a bove, that might help |

maybe u should eat more, gain some weight, and be a bit more relaxed and happier, and less hungry to boot bc ull be fueling urself. ur also pretty active, deff MORE than 1600, maybe 1800-2000 |

REBEL-hi, so its great that ur feeling good, fighting, awesome, but, at a bmi of 17 u still have a long ways to go, more than 10-12 lbs im pretty sure, u cant go based on ur weight when u were 15 yrs old, rt? a bmi of 17 is far from healthy! |
