| The Lounge | I swear if Joelle doesn't get voted off soon... | Jan 22 2009 00:53 (UTC) |
|
I can't stand Joelle!! Tara asked her if she want to be on the campus, and Joelle hesitated, she didn't even answer her. Yet Tara votes for Damien. Joelle doesn't want to be there, send her home. Plus if Joelle does go home, what if she gives up all the time, and doesn't lose anything?! lol wouldn't that be kind of funny. they'd be like, "lets see how the voted off contestants are doing today! Joelle has lost 2 POUNDS! since she left biggest loser campus." |

Original Post by lalabanana: sorry! it worked for me, but mind you i was in grade 4 and my mom monitored it all, plus my dad and my sister both have lactose intollerance, so we took out dairy and i felt better. now i get my calcium through lactose free milk and other lactose free products. i'm healthy and was never malnournished, but everyone's different. werethylacine: check with your doc, run some tests |

| Health & Support | How serious is Anemia if left untreated? | Jan 20 2009 06:03 (UTC) |
7 |
Anemia related to poor nutrition: Vitamins and minerals are required to make red blood cells. In addition to iron, vitamin B12 and folate are required for the proper production of hemoglobin. Deficiency in any of these may cause anemia because of inadequate production of red blood cells. Poor dietary intake is an important cause of low folate and low vitamin B12 levels. Strict vegetarians who do not take sufficient vitamins are at risk to develop vitamin B12 deficiency. ^ got that from the site i suggested in previous post. i suggest you take a multivitamin and an iron supplement. but really you should see your doctor!don't leave this untreated. |

| Health & Support | How serious is Anemia if left untreated? | Jan 20 2009 02:30 (UTC) |

It depends what has caused the anemia, is it iron deficiency, blood loss due to injury, colon cancer, uterine cancer, malnutrition, kidney failure, alcohol. anemia is very serious! If the reason is because of iron deficiency, you need to take iron supplements, if its due to blood loss, you need to get a blood transfusion to replace your red blood cells. Please don't go untreated, its a dangerous disease. For further info see: |

Original Post by naruelle: you're in denial, you posted ealier that you eat 1000-1400 calories a day, and then when someone says this is too little you change your mind and say you eat 1200-1600 a day. also "i had to throw up" (not bulimic...) yeah...right, not bulimic at all. i'm sorry if it sounds like i'm 'attacking' you, i'm not, i just care, especially when you've been told before on other forums that you are an 'undereater' pls, see a doctor! loosing your period for over 3 months is the biggest sign that somethings not right. whether you're underweight or not. Any woman of any size etc, missing periods is a great deal. i wish you luck, and hope you get your period back! |

| Health & Support | Foods that make you sick? | Jan 20 2009 02:10 (UTC) |

try taking certain foods out of your diet that seem to bother you, after a week or so, put them back and notice your body's reaction. This is how i figured out i was lactose intollerant, and as lalabanana refers to, i have intollerance for other foods specifically greasy foods. Also portion size is a huge factor, even though i'm lactose intollerant, i can still eat lil bit of cheese, and a yogurt a day without feeling any discomfort. so definitely 'self test' your diet intollerances, and if you still have problems, talk to the doc. could be a number of things, gall bladder problems, ibs, lactose intollerance. by the way pizza and naked fruit juice both have dairy in it. (some naked fruit juice, depending on the kind you had) take pepto bismol and if you find you have an intollerance for lactose, you can use lactase enzyme with all dairy products. |

i love pgeorgian, i think her comments are quite 'witty' so to say, it makes you laugh yet you know what her opinion is. she doesn't skirt around the truth, she's blunt, but she's honest. keep it up pgeorgian!! |

i thought the whole "i don't love myself enough" was ridiculously selfish of her to say, its just an excuse to make her feel better about her weight problems. (i didn't want to say that in my topic, just in case ppl attack me, rather than give their opinion.) |

yes i was also prescribed minocylcine, but it was too harsh on my stomach, i stopped taking it. plus i didn't like that you couldn't eat for 2-3 hours prior taking it, and 2-3 hrs after. i felt starved. thanks for your reply, i was starting to worry that no one would! i'll keep going with Dianne 35 for a couple more months, see what happens, and maybe i'll start the minocycline again! thankyou |

hey i've also dealt with binging/emotional eating, and still do! try distracting yourself, keep talking to people on CC while you feel this way, read binge posts for advice/suggestions, do your nails, do something with your hands and chew gum. i find this helps, cause i want to eat (therefore chew gum) but then i also want to shove food in my mouth with my hands (therefore use hands to do something else) i hope the problem with your family resolves! OH and check out HEALTH & SUPPORT for binge eating topics/forums, lots of stuff there! i think there's also a group for it too, so check it out! |

| Health & Support | Birth Control Pills, Period, Weight Gain | Jan 04 2009 05:11 (UTC) |

BC pills are progesterone/estrogen 'tablets', your body is lacking these hormones, because your body does not have the means to produce them, which is the reason why you need to gain weight. the pill is getting your hormones back in track, then when you gain the weight and stop taking the pill, your body will take over and produce the progesterone/estrogen hormones by itself. Also the pill is important, because these hormones (estrogen and progesterone) help regulate the female body such as temp and other things, they also affect other hormones, therefore, its very important to have them! and as others suggested talk to your doc, we're not doctors |

not to offend, i know you care for him, but you're prob making him feel worse. Yeah it doesn't seem like he cares, but he prob does. plus he has room to grow yet, guys start growing again when they hit puberty 10-14. i wouldn't worry about it too much. like others have mentioned, i too have had siblings/parents tell me i shouldn't eat something, tell me i'm gonna be like this person if i don't stop, this lead me to a diet/binge cycle. and other problems. |
