I'd try and stick to things that require minimal mouth-work!! Maybe soup or yoghurt - things like that? |

| Weight Loss | Anyone else suffer from SAD? | Oct 18 2007 21:34 (UTC) |

I live in England permanently and I really struggle from the beginning of October til around March/April time. It doesn't help that our summer was completely non-existent this year too :( Every year since I was a kid I've completely lost my motivation between those months and I just can't be bothered to do anything! I'd love to get an SAD lamp - the problem is they're just so expensive!! But if it makes half the year less depressing and more manageable then I suppose it's worth it :) Either that or I need to move somewhere hot, pronto!! Wow.. I can't wait for a few more weeks when it's only light for about 7/8 hours a day. Yippee :( |

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Those pictures have just given me motivation I've been lacking for the last few days. You look fantastic! It's SO nice to hear someone say they did 'light exercise' too - whenever I look on this site, I feel so guilty because everyone else seems to have this gruelling 7 day cardio and weights routine they do for like 2 hours every day! Thanks for sharing with us all :) |

| Hey! I'm pretty sure it makes no difference. I was actually reading (I can't remember for the life of me where I read it!) something a couple of days ago about that being a common diet myth and that working out on an empty stomach may actually be worse 'cos you feel like eating more afterwards! Saying that, I'm by no means a professional - Just thought I'd pass on what I'd read :) | |||
| New Members | Hi Am New here..... in search of some motivators.... | Oct 01 2007 16:25 (UTC) |

Hey Sudeepa! I'm new here too - I'm 22 and I joined yesterday after having looked at similar sites like this one for weeks. I can completely understand where you're coming from. I've been on and off diets for the past couple of years. Like you said, I'm fine for the first 2 or 3 weeks of a diet but once I've lost a bit of weight I just sort of give up. It's stupid 'cos you'd think most people would be motivated by the thought they're losing weight, not me though! My dad was diagnosed as diabetic a couple of years back and that was pretty much due to his weight. The fact that 90% of my family are overweight sort of means I can justify my weight to myself but it's got to the point now where I'm sick of my excuses and I just want to get rid of it for good! I hate the way people look at me as I'm this big lazy lump, it's a vicious circle - I'm too embarrassed to exercise in public 'cos of what I'll look like! I want to be the healthy, confident girl that I imagine I am in my head. Anyway.. Good luck :) Remember, the hardest bit is the beginning. |
