It just means that enough blood isn't circulating to your fingers.

It's the same as if you were to sit cross legged and your foot went tingly and cold.

As to why the blood isn't circulting to your fingers, I do not have the answer to that. =\ Maybe try searching on google?

Weight Loss How many calories do you eat per meal? Dec 08 2008
05:07 (UTC)
27

^ Your body needs AT LEAST 1200 calories, the bare minimum.

Daily I aim to eat 1200-1350.

Breakfast - 300
Snack - 100
Lunch - 300
Snack - 100
Diner - 300-400
Snack - 100

+/- a few calories here and there. Once in a while I come short. And once in a while I eat more depending if I have a larger deficit that day due to a longer workout session.

Hello everyone! Smile

My name is Lana. I'm 19 years old and currently a college student majoring in engineering. My first semester is about to end in a week and I am MORE than excited!

I've been on Calorie Count since Fall of 2007... but I wasn't really strict about my diet and working out. My life finally kind of settled down once college was a good month or two in. So I decided to get my body back on the right track the beginning of November.

My highest weight was 160 right when summer vacation ended. My goal is to be 98-110. Depending on if I'm satisfied with how I look like and how my clothes will fit. I'm 5'1" by the way. And I HATE HATE HATE being this short. I wish I could grow at least like 4 or 5 inches then I would be happy. :( But whatever, can't do anything about it lol.

I know I'm going to be too busy to go to the gym next week. But once I'm finished with my semester  next week, I'm doing some major working out. I miss it!

So where does everyone live?

I'm from Pennsylvania. :)

Beh my week didn't go that great. Too much stress with college. I got like a total of 8 hours of sleep the past 4 days. It's sad. I need to start drinking more water. Hope everyone else is doing great :)

Blehh this week has been bad for me. The stress of school work has made me skip my gym workout sessions and made me more vulnerable to eating more. :(

I am not looking forward to stepping on the scale in the morning.

Motivation falling off the wagon Dec 01 2008

Think back to what your motivation was before. And build on to that motivation. What do you want most this month concerning your body image? Do you want to fit into a certain pair of jeans? Do you want to lose a certain amount of weight before you treat yourself to a shopping spree? Set a goal for yourself and a reward.

Now forget about your horrible bandwagon slip. It doesn't matter!
Tomorrow is a new week, a new month, A FRESH START.

Grasp the opportunity to start fresh and take your new motivation for that draw-dropping sexy dress, or pair of boots, or haircut and use it to get back into your usual diet and exercise routine. Maybe even promise yourself to mix things up a bit once a week or so. :)

Good luck!

Weight Loss Steping on the scale?? Dec 01 2008

Well here's my two cents.

Many members on here will tell you not to weigh yourself every single day because your weight fluctuates too much due to whatever food and drinks you consume throughout each day. Instead, they will tell you to weigh yourself once a week.

Personally I prefer to weigh myself every single day. I can directly see how the scale is effected and I can automatically pinpoint what made the scale fluctuate the way it does from day-to-day. Whether it's from a lot of water/lack of water that I drank that day. Or if I ate a huge bulk of food. The tracker here basically gives you a pattern if your weight is going up or down.

Secondly, the once-a-week weigh in can also be misleading. Because if you ate/drank A LOT before your weigh in day. Then obviously the scale is going to reflect that and it won't necessarily be accurate.

I think you should stick with whatever you feel works best for you. The key here is CONSISTENCY. If you plan on weighing yourself every day, do it EVERY DAY at the same exact time each day (ex: morning before breakfast). If you plan to weigh yourself a few times a week, do it during the same days each week. Don't weigh yourself Monday and Wednesday one week, and then the next on Tuesday and Friday. Be consistent and you will get more accurate results. :)

But if you do weigh yourself every single day. Don't freak out over every single pound gained or lost because the scale only reflects what you ate/drank the previous day. It's over a longer time period that you will see a pattern of results (weight gain/loss). If you understand that then you'll be fine.

As for losing 5lbs.... well you can lose 5lbs in water weight... or you can lose 5lbs in fat. There's really no way of telling on the scale since it's such a small amount of weight (compared to 20+). However, if you lose 1lb a week it would take you about a month to lose 5lbs of fat. But if you want lose more than that, you can safely lose 5lbs in about 3 1/2 weeks if you lost 1.5lbs per week. With water weight though... one day you can weight 110 and the next 105 and think you lost weight when really you didn't.

I hope this helps :)

Ahhh that's a bummer.
I have a lot on my plate myself. 3 essays to write and a written exam by Tuesday. And then I'm presenting a speech tomorrow morning. No fun. I'll probably be pulling an all nighter today. Although it's my fauly. I procrastinate too much.

Any other religious procrastinators out there? lololol.

I'm procrastinating as we speak. I better get my butt on those essays :) wish me luck.

The Lounge I dont like kissing my bf Dec 01 2008
02:21 (UTC)

Nope nothing wrong with you. I actually had the same problem with my ex. Kissing him was ok.. but it's not something I looked forward to doing.

I can only think of two reasons for this.

1. You don't like the way he french kisses you.
Solution: get into an open conversation with him and ask him how he likes to be kisses. Then reciprocate by telling him how YOU would like to be kissed. What kinds of things you like that your ex did, etc. (But don't say you got it from your ex lol). Overtime you will start to enjoy his kissing.

2. You're just not into him. Simple as that.
Solution: Sure he might be a great guy... but the sexual connection just isn't there. It's better you break it off and tell him you're not sexually attracted to him rather than lead him on and break his heart.

Weight Loss gym envy Nov 30 2008

I'm more independant at the gym. I don't like bringing my friends to work out with because they just interfere with my workout routine. And I prefer not to talk to people I recognize from school, etc... don't know why lol. I simply get on each different machine, do my thing, and get off. The people around me don't bother me at all. I do notice the "regulars" though. :)

The only advice I can give you about envying those "model" people you see at the gym is to et your goals and strive to work harder so that one day you can be at their fitness level, and you can look like that so that others will envy you. But in order for that to happen you need to motivate yourself to work hard.

And remember, that "model" person might have been 50lbs+ overweight a few months ago and now are just trying to maintain their hard work. Good luck :)

I think this is a great idea. Not many groups for college students on here. :) Here are my stats:

Age: 19

Height: 5'1

Starting Weight: 160lbs

Current Weight: 156lbs

Goal Weight: 110 ish

I officially started my 2nd or 3rd attempt the beginning of November and plan to stick it out all the way this time. I had a 3-day lapse last week... but I'm getting back on track.

Foods 400cal away.. should I call it a day? Nov 27 2008

I would normally lean towards how my body feels however I should probably mention that I'm eating around the 1200-1350calorie range, therefor im about 400 shy of 1200. And I know less than 1200 is bad. So I think I'll just stop by and get a latte or something in an hour or so.

The Lounge Gift for boyfriend--opinions? Nov 26 2008

Hmmm well if he drives, an alternative to the ipod could be a GPS system =] it can come in handy and you two can take random road trips together. FUN right? lol. And it's cheaper than a small 4gig ipod. Especially if you go to like Best Buy on Black Friday, you can pick one up for like $50!

I think the bedsheets are a good idea, however I don't think he would appreciate them as much as he would a gift that grasps his actual interests.

You could buy him one of those coupon booklets at a bookstore that is like "Good for one massage" or something like that... has a lot of different romantic things that you can do for him. :)

I'm sure he likes movies, who doesn't right? How about you figure out which movies he loved this year or this summer and get him a bundle pack? Some good ones: Eagle Eye, 007 Casino Royale, Jumper, I am Legend, Hancock, etc. Or you can get a bundle of movies you BOTH enjoyed together. That should bring back memories. :)

Ummmmmmm I don't know... those are some of my ideas. Hope this helps.

Foods Anyone else eat a disappointing old favorite lately? Nov 05 2008

Hmm the most recent for me would have to be about last week. I was going through a really rough time and went on a tangent binge type thing. IDK. I was craving cheddar chips. So I picked up a bag of Doritos. I tasted a few when I got home and I was very disappointed. They didn't taste as good as I hoped they would. Over the course of the week I did finish the bag but I felt sick and ugh not eating those for a while.

The Lounge Anyone 5'2 females out there wear a size 12?? Oct 06 2008

Foods Worst "Empty Calorie" Foods? Oct 06 2008
04:20 (UTC)

For me it's definitely soda. Then chips and then ice cream.. but I only eat ice cream once in a while when the mood hits.

But soda is definitely a problem for me. Like I try limiting myself to like one can a week because I crave it a lot. I've had spells where I would only drink soda all day. I've worked so hard to limit that to either no soda or only one can a week. Soda is always stocked in my fridge because my family drinks it.. so it's hard. But so far so good =]
