I use the elliptical but I don't touch the handles.  I log 50 cals less than it tells me.  so if i do 30 mins at 10.0 pace it says 300 cals so I put 250, to be safe.  The best way I look at CC and working out is my example= if I eat just 1653 cals a day (my recommended) with no workout, I MAINTAIN my weight.  If I eat 1653 cals a day-workout, I lose weight.  It's just about keeping up with what amount you're losing.

I've seen what youre talking about.  There's this woman that comes in the gym every day (I remember her doing this six years ago, too!) and does this-she's VERY fit, so perhaps this works for her.  I'd feel silly doing it though

yes it's not a good idea to do it 2x in a row. i go monday and wed for BP and cardio tues and thur then the weekend off

Thanks guys for all the replies. Caloriecounting me asked if I sweat alot, and yes I do.  I have not ever mentioned to a doc, but I will be sure to next time I go.  And yes I have also tried to replace my craving with subsitutes.  Like Lawry's, redpepper+a little salt, and packets of Taco bell hot sauce.  Sadly I will eat these by itself.  I wish I didn't like salt because I think that is why I still have a belly pooch.  I work out, eat right otherwise.

i don't use the handles at all so my legs are doing most of the work. i do swing my arms as if i were powerwalking .

i measured the dressing like this:  2 oz is 55 cals and 8 oz is one cup so if i do 1/2 cup I  get 110...

Here's what I'll do today to take it to-go because there's no way I'm giving up my salad! LOL!

 2 c Romaine 20

1/4 carrots 13

1/4 c Kraft 2% Milk Cheddar Cheese 90 (from my stash at work :-) 90

1/2c Ruby's Lite Ranch  110

10 onions 30

1/2 cup pasta -estimating it at 125 since you said plain is 75 and I think it's in some kind of ranch/mayo sauce but it's not thick..

 

so that's 388...the pasta probably is off but it's not as bad as 1000!

I've been researching since I posted this too, since I want it so badly for lunch! Cry

haha. Here's what i found

2 cups romaine 20

1/4 cup carrots raw 13

10 onions 30

1 tbs seeds 30

1/2 regular shredded cheese 200

Barilla pasta 200

and I did find Ruby's estimate for it's light Ranch and it's 2 oz at 55 cals but 11 g fat! I'm not sure what 2 oz translates to a half cup but you're probably right :-(

Thanks for looking into it too!  Since I get it to go I can subsitute my light Kraft cheese instead of using theirs-so I will do that.  And no sunflower seeds-that's ok i can do without them.

Yes there are plenty you can do at home.  I have comcast on demand that has the fitness videos on there.  Plus walking, biking in the neighborhood, lifiting soup cans as weights, doing pushups, situps, jump roping, hula hooping, running in your backyard or just dancing in your room would all help with the daily workout thing!  Believe me if you exercise 3-5x a week, and make sure you are eating ABOVE 1200 cals a day but less than what you are supposed to eat for your BMR, it will come off in 4 months, maybe 3.  I'm 5'3 and weigh 136-so we are pretty similar.  Last year I was 150 and the whole CC plus work outs was how I did it.

i use this site for counting cals, or just google it.  Dotti's has pretty good estimates as far as restaurant foods.http://www.dwlz.com/restaurants.html

 

I have the same problem cuz i can't figure out what the pasta in the salad bar in Ruby Tuesday's is marinaded/sauced in-I assume a ranch/mayo base, so I just use the grocery pasta estimate for the calories.

Thanks! It says you can burn UP to 600-  I've been logging it as 400 so that should be a fair estimate you think?

I brisk walk on my lunch break every day for 30 mins and workout after work, either weights or cardio.  It's pretty nice out right now if you can get outside for lunch break.

hey i don't know if i count but i'm a fourth asian (japanese) too , 5'3 too! I'm currently 138 lbs and a medium frame. i carry the weight yes in my gut, upper arms.  some in my boobs. when i was at my thinnest 117 i had no boobs.

people think i'm strange that I hate all fruit but apples, pears, or watermelon.  the sight of most fruit grosses me out.  I start thinking of fruitflies and flies, ick.

i definitely do the whole spreadsheet thing like southcarolina guy.  it worked for me well Jan-May and lost 10 lbs.  Was too busy for it this summer but now I'm ready to lose another 10.
