Think positive and - do it for you! Don't take what people say to heart. Use those negative comments as an --" I will show U" attitude. - screw mean people! You can do floor exercises- crunches, chest flys, work with weights- triceps, biceps, sholders, use a medicine ball. U can lie on floor and do leg lift exercises for ur thighs. Use one of those big exercise balls to keep weight off of your foot. there are All kinds of things to do with those balls.. you dont have to run, walk, etc to lose the weight. Don't give up! A CC friend told me- "DO OR DO NOT THERE IS NOT TRY"- that was my motivation! |

| Weight Loss | why oh why have i not lost a lb - 4 weeks of diet and exersize? | Nov 10 2009 20:13 (UTC) |

You burn atleast 1700 a day at rest? Plus your burning around 500-600 during your exercises. You are not eating enough. If you do not fuel the tank- its not going to run! You are already at a healty weight, why not just do strength training, slack down on the cardio and tone up.

I just posted a similar question.. I think the machines that do not let you enter your weight just use a base weight of 150lb or so. And when you enter your weight on CC or any other web site it shows more calories burned. My bike says- I burn 150 calories for 30 min @ 12mph(average) but when I enter informatin with my weight on the website(s) its around 450.. so I am taking the higher #..haha no I weigh 250lb so I know I am going to burn more calories than someone 100lb less than me. |

I know that I love my bread and pasta regardless of where it is on the pyramid! And I know that if it fits into my calorie limits and I want it Im going to eat it! The food pyramid also states to eat more -Whole grains than the refined..and it states that the recomended amounts are for people who exercise 30 minutes a day. Most don't chose the whole grain and most don't exercise on a regular basis.

Most just don't know portion sizes and/or don't follow them. LIKE MYSELF! (And yet our health has continuously declined over that time.) It's not the pyramid.. its Because of Fast food. And the choices that we make. Some people don't like bread-- yet they are still fat. There are plenty of vegetarians who are obese. Because they eat junk food.

It has been awhile for me but in 1997.. my insurance was billed $10,000 for all of my medical treatments.. doctor visits and delivery.. I had one ultrasound. so I would say it has atleast doubled in price considering everything else has. Plus I live in a small country town, not in a big city where cost -- I am sure is higher for everything. |

I tried hydroxycut for a couple days- made me really jittery and I didn't think about eating cause all I could think about was-- "I need to do something" And then at the end of the day I was a total b**** cause I hadn't ate anything since lunch time -- You definately need to make yourself eat- wouldn't be bad if didn't have all the side effects.... I started taking Slimquick- rapid fat loss- I do notice that I do not want to munch munch all day long.. and this doesn't make me jittery or make my heart race- and supposed to help out with TOM- - Ingredients: stress reducer-hormone balancing- and vitamins and of course caffine.. so far seems to be helping me- will see after a month. not getting my hopes up just yet.

| Thanks for the info - I guess my activity should be light- so that would put me at 2000-2200 calories- and still lose 1lb roughly a week-- hopefully. I didn't realize my deficit was so high on the days I go to the gym- I guess like alot of the post on here not too many are not sure they are doing this correctly... the Caffeine factor I have thought about but I have been off of the caffiene for about a month now-and the headaches would have been instant( I think)-- Well - I am going to try and up my calories and see how I feel- I thought that maybe I should eat more but - didn't think that sounded right....And I drink nothing but water and juice from the moment I get out of bed. I will see what happens.. Thanks for you help!! | |||

Danielle : Well- I am not sure I am doing this correct but - My burn meter at sed- is 2300- so I would take 500 from that and that should be how many calories I eat to lose 1 whole whopping pound a week, right? So if I exercise I add that to my burn meter total and from that total I would subtract total amount of calories ate and that would be my deficit? osugrrl:I just got back on the " real" diet also- I take a Vitamin B and E- I have been loging my food intake onto the mypyramid tracker web site and it tells you how much of a vitamin you consume and so on- And it shows that I lack E and B and Potassium- so I take those vitamins every other day. But I think I am doing my deficit thing wrong - or just not eating enough.(go figure) I drink plenty of water- but I have a desk job 50 hours a week and not much time to do anything - I finally got so fed up of gaining the weight I decided to do somthing and quit talking - and go to the gym- now I just have to stick to it!! lol |

When food intake is severely restricted( below 1200 calories) the body begins to adapt to this state of poor nutrition by shutting down its metabolic rate, potentially making it even mmore difficult to lose weight. It is also possible to experience hunger pains, headaches and mood changes from overly stringent dieting.
