I had never heard of it either. I am in the process of trying to figure it out with my dr we are doing a ton of testing...UGH It is very frustraiting. There are quite a few times where I get sick and then look back and realize that something had sugar in it. The only plus side to it is I have lost 10lbs since the middle of august ( I am a very slow loser and usually this would take me 4 months to lose) and in 3 weeks I have lost an inch in my waist. So it's deffinatly put me back on track to lose the rest of the weight. I had never heard of quinoa before but looked it up and think I might have to try to find it and give it a try. |

alot of that sounds good but I can't have the honey or the chocolate and have to be really careful with the milk and sugar in the bread as well as the tomato sauce...oh and I don't think I have seen sugar free yogurt.......I did get some sugar free peanutbutter that I might try tomorrow. I really can't have any sugar or I get reallly sick. I had 1 bite of cake thinking that would be fine....nope got super sick from it about a month ago and have had very trace amounts of sugar since then....it's so frustrating! |

Just another quick add in Maybe take him to the dr/nutritionist So they can be the ones to help him figure it out....Some times it's easier for someone to hear it from a nutritionist then a spouse......Good luck |

I feel your pain. Don't give up even if you are not loseing right now you are deffinatly getting healthier!!! I think maybe upping your calories for mantinance for a few day's might be a good thing to try.....Also like the above poster try to find things around the house you can do to build muscle so even if you arnt loseing weight you might be loseing inches. I have not lost any weight since I got to my half way point way back but I have gone down a pants size and my legs are more muscular..... maybe take a two week break from the scale and take your measurments instead....Just a few thoughts Either way YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! your body is probably just adjusting! |

| Weight Loss | i cant afford to eat 1200 calories/day | Jul 11 2008 00:54 (UTC) |

Some of the best priced foods would be dried beans and rice and you can go to local farmars market type places for fresh fruits and veggies at a better price. You can make a simplistic lentil and veggie soup for cheap as well....If you make up a batch of soup you can alway's freeze part of it so it wont go bad aswell..... |

| Weight Loss | wow.... fishing burns this amount.......... | Jun 16 2008 03:37 (UTC) |

I would imagine that's for fishing with a spinner or something.....If you just sit there useing a bobber then I don't think you would burn much....but with a spinner on you have to cast and reel it in the whole time you are fishing....So I can see that number being right for that type of fishing...... |

| Weight Loss | Over 300lbs with PCOS | Jun 16 2008 03:31 (UTC) |

I to have pcos and have found I lose weight really slowly but....I do lose weight...I started in the beginning of october at 184 and am no don to 154ish...so only 30lbs in 8 months but it's still a move in the right direction!! So when it gets really frustrating just remind yourself that you might lose slower than other people but you are still loseing! I am on Metformin and ovulate every month now that I am on it. When I was struggleing to get pregnant years ago (before I was even diagnosed pcos) I used birthcontrol for a month to get myself to ovulate and get pregnant....It worked. I would deffinatly look into working closely with a nutritionist and endocrinlogist to find what works for you!!! Good luck and I know you can do it!!! |

| Weight Loss | I had Gastric Bypass over a year ago and I need support and advice | Jun 10 2008 21:19 (UTC) |

My mother in law had wls a few years ago....she still to this day eats bell peppers (red are her favorite) and cottage cheese every day...it's one of her staples that she really enjoy's....I think it might be helpful to you to meet with a nutritionist to go over what are good things for you to eat to make sure you get all your nutrition in and stay low on calories....I also think it might be helpful for you to go see a counselor and maybe talk about things to figure out why you are haveing the troubles you are haveing....and if you don't want to see a counselor try to find a friend that you can talk to that understands and who will be there to support you.....My mom is an emotional eater and when she is struggleing she will call me and we will have a nice chat sometimes about what is bugging her and sometimes just to take her mind off of food..... Whatever you decide to do Good luck and just remember you have come so far and you CAN do it!!!! |

LOL if all it did was weight you it would be an expensive scale....but if you already have a wii you might as well get it...it is a scale plus a game plus a bmi calculator plus an exercise tool....hmm sounds like alot more then a scale to me....but maybe I am just biased because I am a gamer and have a wii already and Love wii fit......non the less the fact that my husband and both of my kids love working out on it.....As for weight it get's my weight spot on everytime...if you have kids that want to use it to I can say it barely picks up the weight of my 7 year old (44lbs) even though it say's that it's for 6 and up ....and the weight limit on it is like 350lbs.... |

You are more likely to become dehydrated then burn many more calories......Because the body sweets to get cooler....but to get warmer it shivers which burns calories...so our bodies burn more in winter..... |

Wasn't sure so looked around and found this: "While low intakes of calcium can result in deficiency and undesirable health conditions, excessively high intakes of calcium can also have adverse effects. Adverse conditions associated with high calcium intakes are hypercalcemia (elevated levels of calcium in the blood), impaired kidney function and decreased absorption of other minerals " On this site..... http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/calcium.asp# h8 Hope this helps! :) |

| Weight Loss | Splenda? | May 24 2008 16:58 (UTC) |

| So far there are no "Health problems" related to splenda.....It does have a few calories but I feel that it is just fine in moderation. I use it in my coffee tea and occasionally I use it for bakeing....I tried stevia once but didn't like it at all....and can't quite remember what was said about it but I don't think just because it's made from a plant that it is good for you either.....Look at soy....it's made from plants but is horrible for you as it's an estrogen based plant..can cause alot of problems.... | |||

| Fitness | wii fit anyone? | May 22 2008 21:14 (UTC) |
55 |
I ended up not logging my exercise on the wii fit ...wasn't worth it to me....but if I notice I am needing a few more calories I wont feel guilty fitting them in....My 10 year old and 7 year old loved it!!! :) I think if you are in a smaller town it was a little easier to get ahold of it so if you didn't get it yesterday maybe call a nearby small town store to see if they have any left.... As for the time inbetween I just find myself moveing around walking in place what not to keep my heart rate up between while I am in the menu....if not then I use it to get a drink..... |

I ran in and got mine this morning!!! :) It works fine on my throw rug....It was a blast!!! Some of the exercises are harder then others but I deffinatly feel like I got a work out! I of course had to try all the exercises!!! :) FUN. My only advise/suggestion is make sure when you are doing your exercises to flex your muscles when appropriate...so when your doing the jacknife one flex abs etc.....and remember to breath through them.....But can deffinatly see myself useing it every day or atleast 5 days a week...... :) |

The best thing I found was they have great fruit and veggie stands!!!! So if you eat good lunches...salad sandwich type of thing then if you are needing a snack just stop by there and pick up some fruit and veggies (they where amazingly decent priced to) |

As long as you arn't going under 1200 calories or larger than 1000 calorie deficet I don't see why you can't save up a few calories by just dropping about 100 a day.... |

| Foods | lying to customers? | May 20 2008 01:47 (UTC) |

Most likely you just couldn't tell it was diet.....I have to have hubby or friend check and make sure my soda is diet.....I did realize now that if I try a regular soda it tastes like syrup!!! So most likely it was diet.....if you are ever concerened about that you can ask them to make sure (because it would be extremely dangerous for a diabetic if by chance it wasn't diet) |

I am going to be loseing a little less then that but wanted to let you know you CAN do it!!! and as for the tummy tuck you will have to see how your skin does some people have more elasticity to there skin then others so it just differs depending on your body....same for the girls some lose them and some don't.... |

Chicken or vegtable stock for part of the water when cooking it is great!!!
