Happy Thanksgiving Snow. 128 is terrific. I'm back to 131. Went to a birthday party on Sat. and only ate veggies and fruit (and a small piece of cake, no frosting)while everyone else was wolfing down the junk. It was kind of disgusting. Been eating fairly light otherwise and exercising. I think the work does burn a lot of calories, especially if you can't snack in a cube like i do. I'll still shoot for 129 but I feel like one (big) muscle now. Guess I'll have to run/walk some extra this weekend as I do let go with the turkey and cranberry sauce. Have a great holiday and hopefully you'll stay in the 129 club. |

130 today. Had great weekend at the Drake. Visited new Art Institute modern wing, saw Young Frankenstein, walked lakefront, Navy Pier, had terrific meals at Hugo's on Rush and Kiki's Bistrot. Walked 50k steps in 2 days. No cabs, 1 bus ride to the art institute and back, otherwise walked everywhere. Also worked out both mornings at the hotel. Great Staycation for little money thanks to priceline. Hope you had a nice mini vacation too. Hoping to settle at 129 finally. Hope Thanksgiving doesn't screw it up. Gonna have to step up the running and walking. Have a great week. |

How about that, 130 after 2 day Staycation downtown celebrating our anniversary. Lots of food, but did LOTS of walking and ran at the hotel's fitness center both mornings. No cabs and only 2 bus rides, rest was on foot. Really liked the Drake for $85 and saw Young Frankenstein which was hilarious. I'll try to be good today and see what happens at the Monday weigh in. |

131. Pretty good for a Bday weekend in Champaign. Ate out Friday breakfast, dinner on Saturday (Biaggi's in Champaign) and lunch Sunday at Chili's. Walked on campus and ran on hotel treadmill. Wingate's are pretty nice. Ready for downtown anniversary at the Drake on the 14th (our 28th). Did find a flu shot in Champaign after many calls to all the drug stores. Maintaining will really be hard the next 2 months. Have a great week. Don't work too hard. |

Hi Snow: Hope the doc and bloodwork turned out ok. My patten continues (lose during week, gain on weekend). But, I was 130.5 this morning so I am down a little. Only went out for breakfast on Friday (eggs, bacon toast, hash browns), and carried out pizza last night. Big B Day next weekend, going to Champaign to celebrate with our college girl and we'll spend a night (Priceline permitting). The we go for anniversary the following weekend (Priceline deal at the Drake for 2 nights). Good warm up for the holidays. I'm really going to have to step it up at the health club. Still looking for the seasonal flu shot. Have a great week and don't work too hard at Rite Aid. Hope you can stay under 130.

Starting sound like a broken record. 129 by the end of the week and 131 on Monday. I don't even eat that bad on weekends, just doesn't take a lot to get over 1500 calories which is my maintain I think. Keeping up on the moderate walking, running, machines. Got back to walking outside yesterday, it was beautiful. Back inside today. Everything else going great. I don't know about the cholesterol drugs. I take a really low dose and my Dr. thinks they have additional benefits and it costs about the same as an aspirin (except for the blood tests). Hope the Rite Aid job is still working out for you. You must feel pretty healthy with all the sick people showing up in a drug store. Just don't catch what ever they have. Have a great Halloween and don't eat all the leftover candy. We are still working on the sweetest day candy. Holidays sure kill the diet. |

Hi Snow. 131 this morning. As usual, I lose during the week and gain it back on the weekend. Ate out a couple of times, but ate half burgers and bagged the rest. Still eat bigger breakfasts (whole toast) and lunches (whole sandwich) than during the week. Getting ready for the big birthday/anniversary/holiday eating binge starting in about 2 weeks. Soup/salad/wine for dinner, so off to a good start this week. Also ran, worked out and walked today. Once a year Dr. would be great. I've gone to 6 months from 3. He still needs tp check blood due to cholesterol drug, that I probably don't need. Checked body fat at health club. 20.4%. Not bad. Back to walking outside again. Ladies at work goal is to weigh less than me. Haha. Hope Rite Aid is still okay still. Are you going to get to 119. Long ways from the 139 days. You must feel terrific. Have a great week. |

122 Wow!!! You'll have a good "cushion" for the holidays. Remember when 139 felt light. I think your right, working does burn the calories (unless someone is bringing in lots of birthday/welcome back/goodbye/anniversary/congratulations cake). It also helps if the job has little or no stress and you feel the need to reward yourself. I really ate pretty well this weekend and still gained back what I lost last week. Back to 131.5 this morning. Friday breakfast, bowl of cereal, lunch took MIL out for birthday and had cobb salad (ate half for dinner) and a beer flight. Saturday breakfast about 1-2 scrambled eggs and 1 toast, dinner ate the leftover 1/2 roast beef sandwich that my wife had on Friday, dinner 2 small bowls of chili made with ground turkey (1.5 beers). Sunday cereal, a small ham sandwich on a roll, dinner 3 slices of Aldi's frozen cheese pizza. Snacks mostly pretzel sticks. Ran and exercised Friday and Sunday. Actually went to health club at 6:00 AM on Friday since I felt energized. That is a first. Thought I could go 3 miles that early but couldn't. Probably could outside on a warm day, just get bored on the treadmill. Cold weather has driven us back inside on the indoor walking track. My wife is getting a little obsessed with her steps now, so we go whenever possible. She at least wants to do 10,000/day. Well, have a great week and keep eating healthy. Glad your cold is better so your weight will probably bounce back a little. Cheers |

Congrats on the 123. You must really be feeling great. Maybe the job will get you under 120. 19 BMI is terrific. I need to check mine again (was 21 a couple of months ago. 131 for Monday weigh in. Couple of times eating out over the weekend got me back over 130. Went out for lunch today so I had a salad. I try to eat at least okay when out (fish or a single burger, or a salad) and it still worse than eating at home. I'd probably be (more) underwight if I never ate out. Probably just as well. Moved our daughter to a new apartment in the city for the main activity of the weekend. Really cutting back on walking outside with the colder weather and early sundown, so I think we will be heading to the indoor track for the next 6 months. Just not convenient like walking out the door. Don't have desire to workout more than 3x/week. Hope Rite Aid is still working out for you. Sounds like you are a good influence on your hubby. It's kind of the same with my wife watching her steps. Can't decide if I should try to do a Holiday retail job. It would really mess up my exercise and nap routine. Well, have a great week and try to stay out of the Rite Aid candy dept. |

Way to go Snow! I knew you could do it. Good luck on your first day tomorrow. You'll do terrific. Go have a treat. You'll burn it off working anyway. I'm a big fan of part-time work. It's just enough to keep you a little busy and still have time for a life. And work always gives you something to laugh at. That usually is half of our dinner conversation. Let us know how it goes. Almost forgot, 131.5 today after a high of 133 Saturday. Cheers. BTW, is Rite-Aid a drug store? |

Hi Snow: Stayed at 131 for my Monday weigh in. Ate pretty well this week, except for the Cubs game on Thursday that did me in (belgian waffle at a local Boystown diner before the game, plate of cheesefries and beer after the game at a Wrigleyville bar, but nothing at Wrigley except the pretzels and granola bars and water that we bring in). Food and beer are such a ripoff at the park. I swear the obese guy in front of us spent $100 on beer. Yesterday, tilapia and rice at Red Lobster with the M-in-L. Started eating some yogurt with a little cereal at work. Even went to Costco w/o one sample. I think I get sick watching the people lining up for the samples. You'd think it was a soup kitchen for the homeless. Our little one (now a senior) will be visiting next weekend so I'm sure to have some big junk food meals. I've cut back my running to about 2 miles since my foot hurts (don't know why), but still walking almost everyday with my wife. Sorry no job yet, but hang in there. Summer ends tomorrow, but have a great week anyway. |

Hope the job Rite Aid works out. Great news on the BP. Is that without BP pills? Finally changed my picture from 2006 Ireland to last week at the Fairmont. First run today since trip. 3 miles. Really felt re-charged. Even took fast walk with wife after dinner. Could have done a more. Also, my wife's step counter was about 50 miles for our 8 day trip. No wonder I maintained. Have a great week. |

Back from week in Monteal and Quebec City and still at 131. Ate a lot of good food, but did a lot of walking. Even ran 3 times. Loved both cities, and Fairmont Chateau Frontenac was awesome in Quebec City. Did all the tourist stuff including lots of museums. Now its back to "work" and less calories. |

131.5 this morning after a pretty quiet weekend. Was hoping for 129 before Quebec trip to give me a cushion for all the French food. Haven't run in a week since there is a pulled muscle or something near my hip (maybe arthritis?). But can still walk without pain thank goodness. I'll try to check in next week on the trip, but I don't know if I'll have access at the B&B's. Snow, you bounce around so much, I hope you're not starving to get down each time you go up. I try to control the social eating, like yesterday we went out for pizza and I just had 3 slices and some pita/hummus and 1 Budlight. Went to a Cubs game and just drank a beer (no peanuts or taco chips). Kind of hard to do. Have a great week. |

Did you get back to 110? I wish I could help, but I'm kind of in the same rut. Luckily I lost weight so slowly that I only need a few more calories to gain. You'll feel just as thin at 110 as 100 and look better too. |

Chel: The work outs are great, but it only takes a few sweets to offset the calories you burned, so you still have to eat well. I snack on those half pretzel sticks (the thick ones) when I get hungry. I think from Costco. I'll eat one no more than 1 per hour and it keeps me from snacking on the bad sweets. So if I get home and its still a few hours from dinner, the pretzels get me to dinner. It helps just knowing that there is something in my stomach. Hope the kick boxing was fun. Welcome Nuvia. Congrats on the huge weight loss. Sort of have to watch the eating all the time. It's the social eating that kills you cuz no one will tell you to stop eating at a party or family thing. Just have to eat the veggies and take tiny portions. It's really hard to make up for those huge meals. That's why I way myself on Monday, it makes me a little more controlled on the weekends. I've never done the yo yo thing and in the last 4 years I doubt that I ever went up 3 or 4 pounds from a new low. |

131 this morning. Cholesterol came in at 60/60/130. Still watching diet (half of everything). Went out for breakfast on Saturday and ordered 1 scrambled egg. Biggest egg I've ever seen, covered half the plate. Yea, 10 days to Montreal. Got daughter to college on Thursday and even stopped at McD for dinner (McChicken and side salad). Great week ahead with my boss on vacation. Tomorrow will be bad with our end of season golf party. Have a great week. ps: any luck with with the job hunting Snow? Chelslaw, with all those activities, you'll be at 129 soon. |

You shouldn't have much problem with all the exercise. Just stay away from the sweets and snacks. How much did you lose from your high weight? The 139 club got a little out of hand and kind of became a 129 club. Don't know why, but every low became a new high. Good luck. |

132 this morning. Nothing like a 21 Bday party to put on some weight. Lots of leftover treats, so the party continues. Went to Dr. for 6 month checkup today. Everything ok except for the weight. Good thing I kept my shoes on. Told him I'm still 21 body fat, but Dr. didn't buy it. Saw pix of me from the party and except for the tan, I look like a corpse, so I better gain some more. Kind of sick to resist weight gain. Don't get it. Other than that, feel pretty good we'll be empty nesters again on Thursday. Did you apply for more jobs Snow? Something will turn up soon. It's a numbers game. Have a great week. |

124-134 works for me, although I don't fluctuate that much. So I might try to stay between 124-129. I think I'm ok on the healthy weight since my BMI is still 21 and I have a real skinny frame. BTW, I got my 2004 passport out of the safe deposit today. Couldn't believe I'm the same person in the picture. The picture you can see is 2006 and 35 lbs ago, about 1 year into the diet. AM BP is about 135/85 and PM is about 110/70 and 60 heart rate. Good luck job hunting. |

Hi Snow: Guess it's just us. I'll just keep doing my Monday weigh-in. 130 this morning. So you can yell at me for going under 130. So much for my 140 goal on my first post. I really need to at least level out. Don't know why each new low becomes new high. Good thing I'm not so obsessed with running. I did start eating yogurt with strawberries or granola so that should help and I should gain 10 lbs in Montreal next month. Did you get the job? Hope so. Surprised your BP is up considering all the weight you lost. My BP pills went away about 2 years ago, but still take a low dose of a cholesterol buster and a baby aspirin. Enjoy whats left of the summer, although it seems like it just arrived last weekend. Have a great week!!! |

Hi Karey: I promise not to report my Monday weigh-ins, even though I still weigh myself every day. Can't say I eat/exercise as well as you, but I'm sticking to my 1/2 of everything diet and walk or run 3 miles almost every day. How's the Go, Wear, Fit working? I looked at the website and it sounds kind of expensive. Is it worth it? Looks like you are attracting quite a following here, so good luck! Guess I didn't do very well maintaining the 139, but better less than more. I feel too good and the big Six Ohhhh is coming up fast for me. Take Care, Jerry (aka Morton) |

There's so much junk food in the house, it's sickening. That's what happens when my daughter goes to Costco with my wife. Costco cinnamon buns appeared on the counter, couldn't resist, so, I'm eating 1/2 of one for breakfast every day instead of my toast and jam. Also, a box of big Costco chocolate chip chunk cookies also showed up, so I'll eat 1/2 of one after lunch and dinner instead of my usual halloween Snickers. Anyway, hope to run 3 miles again today if it ever warms up enough and get in a long walk on the lakefront with the wife. Wife trying for 90K steps this week. Salad and Macaroni/Cheese for dinner. Maybe BBQ chicken tonight. Still snacking on pretzel sticks, but they are kind of salty. No social eating this week, so maybe I can maintain the 129. Supposed to get to 90 (finally) next Saturday. Yeah!!! Have a great week. |

Snow: I didn't realize you were at 129. Is that your low? Hope you can stay there. I'll probably bump up with birthdays this month, and Irishfest in Milwaukee and just the need to go out with the nice weather. Although I'm getting more exercise. First time tripped while running today and fell really hard, but only a couple of scrapes and nothing else damaged, except my water bottle that broke the fall. Pride damaged though. Hope we can maintain the 129. Have a great weekend. |
