| Did you doctor do a blood workup? It's possible you can be developing hypothyroidism.... Or another possibility is that you are sleep walking.... and getting into food. I'm really surprised a doctor would quickly prescribe reductil to someone who was in a healthy weight range so early before... it actually sounds very irresponsible and I would get a second opinion. | |||
| Weight Loss | I miss my bulemia =( | Oct 14 2007 19:13 (UTC) |

| I'm a recovered bulimic, 2 years puke free, I would binge and purge every day, multiple times a day. I worked in a coffee/ice cream shop (that was always empty) and would ALWAYS binge and purge while at work. I finally was able to stop when I realized I was sticking my face in a germ infested vestibule where hundreds of other people have **** and pissed in that same toilet. When I puked in there, I imagined other people peeing and pooping on my face, that eventually got me to stop. If you are like I was, the only place you can purge is in a toilet (so you could hide the evidence). I could never throw up in a garbage can becuase I didn't want people to know and criticize me. Sometimes, I still think about wanting to purge after binging, but I come up with alternate solutions, like only eating fruit and veggies the next day, or working out an hour. Anyway, good luck! | |||
| Weight Loss | Scale Rituals | Oct 14 2007 18:52 (UTC) |

| I weigh myself everyday. First I wake up and drink a cup of coffee... wait for that to uh... "get me going". Then I do cardio for an hour without drinking water. Before I hop in the shower, I towel off all of the sweat and get on the scale. Then I take a shower and drink lots of water. I'm also a "poker", too. I'll poke my stomach and pinch my hips and try to see if my arms are less jiggly. Then I pinch my quads and see if cellulite appears... seeing the cellulite keeps me motivated that it isn't all just a number. My fiance' thinks I'm crazy and is in the once a week weigh-in club, except, he's trying to GAIN weight. His metabolism is ridiculous, and I am jealous. | |||
| Weight Loss | How low can you go on a healthy diet? | Oct 13 2007 21:37 (UTC) |

Eventually, if you keep the same "right way" diet, your body will hit a point where it begins to process foods differently and maintain it's own weight. It is an evolutionary safety net. As long as you are still consuming foods, your body will reset its metabolism to a lower level trying to conserve energy. Obviously, if you weren't eating anything at all, you would lose weight to the point of death. However, depending on one's size, 1000 calories or more could theoretically sustain life for a while. |

I hate canned vegetables, except sometimes corn All kinds of milk except skim I hate fresh tomatoes... but I'll eat a tomato any other way Peas are gross... That's about it. American cheese and Velveeta are nasty, but I don't think those fall into the healthy food category. I hate more junk food than I do healthy food... so I have that in my favor

| Try Glaceau Fruitwater. It has 20 calories per serving (50 calories a bottle) and taste pretty good. Or you can try the Vitamin Water, but it has 125 calories a bottle - but it has vitamins. | |||

| I just got out of college and spent two years in the dorm life. Tell you the truth, I thought it was actually easier to lose weight then gain weight. I dropped 10 pounds my freshman year. As long as your caf has a salad bar, chicken or fish daily, then you should be good to go! Just watch out for the breakfast foods, they tend to be fatty. Stick with the cereal... and don't eat dessert everyday. Also, try not to order out, I know it's hard not to do. If you do order out, try to do something healthy, like Jimmy Johns (if they have it), or something similar. Another thing too - I don't know if you drink or not, but watch the alcohol calories, they pack on pretty quickly. Diet Coke and Vodka is probably the best to stick too. Also, if your campus is pretty large, skip the bus system and walk, if the weather is nice. Good Luck! I wish I was a freshman again :-) | |||
