Thank you for the reply! I am working on the weight thing--it's tough because I'm technically not underweight and have mentioned the concern to the docs though they haven't said it's an issue. My husband is convinced this is the problem though. Would I have to go to a fertility specialist to get something like Clomid or can a typical ob/gyn prescribe it? I have been reading about it and am not sure I'm ready for that, but I also know I can't afford to go to a fertility specialist. I have Kaiser, so I'm not sure how that might be different. Thanks so much! |

| Foods | Peanut Butter and Banana = a taste of pure heaven | Aug 22 2008 05:23 (UTC) |

I am so with you on the pb and banana combo! It is one of my favorites and every time my husband sees me eating it, he gets grossed out. Probably if he tried it, he would see the beauty too. Like several others, I am addicted to Better 'n' PB. I actually like it BETTER than regular peanut butter because it is so easy to spread and I actually mix it into things like chocolate pudding and ice cream (all sugar free versions of course) to give them a little variety. It's annoying that it doesn't come up when I search foods to add to the calorie count. Do other people know how to find it? It's a pain to fill in all the boxes myself.

| Foods | Measuring serving sizes without a scale? | Aug 09 2008 23:53 (UTC) |

Thank you! I actually found a website that attempts to convert mass to weight: onlineconversion.com. You enter a food item so it can estimate density and then you can convert across weight and mass (like you said it's all kind of an estimate). 1 fluid oz with most things is pretty darn close to 1 oz of weight. Yay broccoli beef! Thanks again! |

| Weight Loss | Not counting veggies?? | Apr 29 2008 06:54 (UTC) |

I was talking to a friend who has done W.W. with great success, using the points system and they tell you not to count raw vegetables because it takes so many calories to digest them. Keep in mind that tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, and basically anything with seeds is actually fruit and typically contains more sugar and therefore more calories. Like someone else said, count vegetables definitely if they are cooked, as that makes them easier to digest and the calories are no longer neglible (at least accoording to my friend who does WW). That's my 2 cents! |
