try almost a month without weighout loss, when i first started. Don't give up now. You must believe it is truly worth the hard work. It is a shock to your body and your body needs time to adjust, just like anything else in the world. You will have bigger things to overcome in the near future ex. those nasty plateaus, that seem to never end no matter how hard you try. And believe me i suffered through quite a few of those, but in the end i won!!!!! four years ago i suffered a great loss and went from 165-170 to 130 by not eating (not on purpose just no hunger), well when i got out of that crappy mode i gained it all back, then 2 years ago i really got serious and decided i was going to do it right, finally within 6-8 months went from 165 to 110. I have been at this for two years and although i physically stopped writing everything down i eat i still do my mental calculations. People here will tell you, you will always have a small battle with staying at a current weight. I have been stable for 2 years and sometimes it seems easier to just lose it, rather than to keep the scale at a certain weight. I thought it was about a certain number on the scale, it absolutely is not. I looked great, lean and very muscular at 104-105. but in reality for the past two years i always hover between 105-111. That is a perfect happy medium and have accepted that. That is all there is to it, accepting what needs to be done, doing it and knowing "when to stop before it becomes and excessive excersize ed. |

he smokes outside. and yep the drive to work today is going to be rather miserable. I did just eat a nice breakfast and now of course i want a cigarette but at least i have a patch on and my craving are 1/3 of what they have been in the past when i tried to quit. I quit once before for almost a month and i felt so good and happy. then i found out my husband was cheating and smoking cigarettes behind my back, we were to quit together. and that is how i relapsed. i have that half marathon on valentines and i just can't smoke anymore. i have this really bad cough and congestion, i can't even hear anything my ears are all clogged up. i chewed alot of gum. |

i am in the same boat as all of you. I am going to say that since I was overweight ALL OF MY LIFE, my mind is conditioned to think i am fat. I know i am thin people tell me, but i still don't see it or feel it. The only way i know is because my scale tells me the truth and the clothes i buy tell me the truth. How is it possible to have started at 165-170 3 years ago and now weigh 108 but still feel fat. I have that nasty back fat and extra skin that won't go away. It looks like i am a deflated balloon when i have no clothes on. Are we all suffering body dismorphic whatever you call it or does our mind need to catch up. I am still not used to this thin face looking back at me in the mirror it is too strange for me. I don't think after all this weightloss i could ever get any plastic surgery to my face. To wake up and look in the mirror and find an unfamiliar woman looking back at me. ok my rant is over. Thank you ladies for listening to me. |

ok well the walmart brand says 3 oz is 150 calor so i was eating about 5-6 just to be on the safe side thank you for all the replys. i think i will stay at less than 3 oz portion seeing it is a treat to have them at all in my diet plan. everyone was telling me i was looking to skinny i got down to 107 at 5'2 i thought i looked good. They were drilling me saying i was looking sickly and that there may be something wrong with me losing so much weight. so i started eating a lot too much and bam i gained it back now i weigh 111 and am not happy so here we go counting calories again. So obviously i was not sick and didn't magicly come down with diabetes, like they thought. My body was doing a great job at burning calor. why do people have to be so nosey or is it jealousy. |

In the end you reap what you sow. He got away with murder, will we ever know the truth. He was involved with their murders for sure. He gets what he deserves. Writing a book like he did how egotistical, he needs to be in jail and think of what a mess he's made of his life and everyone around him. |

i started at 145 i was eating more food quantity(bulky items) bananas, apples, whole grain breads light yogurt. They filled me up as opposed to eating fast food where i would need several burgers to fill me up. Another trick that really helped me i would drink about 1-2 bottles (16.9 oz of water or crstal light before every meal. all that liquid would fill me up so i wouldn't eat as much. I cut my portions in half and ate slower, so if after taking all that time to eat i was still truly hungry i would go for a second. Salads, salads, salads one before dinner and sometimes one for lunch as the meal with some cheese or protein. |

please by all means eat more or your body will think you are in starvation mode. I am 5'2 109 lbs and run about 5 miles 5x a week i eat at least 1500-2000 calories and I am still hungry most of the time. I have been trying to stabilize my weight but it's not working. It took me almost a month(3weeks actually) to even see the scale move down when i first started cc. Your body doesn't know what to think. When i was at 145lbs i was burning 13o calo/mile then 120 calor a mile all of a sudden i now only burn 70 cal per mile. Your body will change just give it some time. |

thanks for all the replys and yes i am one of those really competitive girls that looks at other's treadmills too. I can't help it, i was brought up with sports and boy cousins so you can only imagine how they (my cousins) always pushed me to do better in a sport or game. It gives me motivation, but it's not the only thing that drives me. My mom passed from diabetes as some of you know from reading my bio, so i really really really want to win this for HER. It would mean the world to me to show her how i have grown and changed, and i could almost see the smile on her face (in my mind). ok enough of the sad sappy ****. |

the pizza driver, Hmmm lets see they use their own car, their own gas, and they do not receive the delivery fee. call around and ask. a buddy of mine delivers part time for extra spending money. No one pays their car insurance but them. They have to drive (10 miles in one direction sometimes and get stiffed). They make minimum wage. Remember getting food delivered to your house is a bigger luxury than going out to eat. Because we are too darn lazy to go get it ourselves, so for pete's sake tip the drive 20%. ya bunch of lazy asses. lol. |

i do believe we are both flatchested now. I am really not trying to make this a competition thing i want to change the way i am dealing with this matter. I don't think it is healthy for me to be jealous of her. i have a smaller frame then her that is for sure, that is besides the point. Many many moons ago when i was a teenager i would starve myself to no end so i could lose weight, what a vicious cycle that was, i hated myself but there i was 18 years old with a six pack. When you are emaciated looking with no fat on your body all you have to do is a few situps and crunches and bam there it is a rock hard stomach, but what a sh**ty way of doing it. That is not how i live my life and i do feel bad for her. I never see her eat anymore, even during very long hours at work. Who goes 10-12 hours with no food. I constantly eat all day long but it's stuff that is good for me mostly raw diet and healthy sandwiches. This is one of those situations where i just needed to blow off some steam, and now it is time for me to move on and not worry about anyone but me. I don't hate her, i feel bad for her that there is a much easier way to achieve a healthy body than how she is doing it. I think this thread has reached it's maximum potential.
--ohh by the way pen-coed, the dirty looks that i get on the beach is probably when i politely ask people to be aware that we are practicing kitesurfing and the wind is an unpredictable thing. We all need a spot on the beach but why park your chair in a dangerous spot and then ask me questions like will it hurt if it hits us, or do you carry liability insurance?? Come'on people like i am the one that doesn't belong on the beach, like i am inconveniencing everyone else. Of course i don't want it to smack down on someone, or closeline you as you walk right under my lines. |

Actually they do kitesurf lake michigan go to you tube and check out the videos. You guys are such a great support . I am so glad there are people that understand what this feels like. It just seems so odd that if someone ccompliments me on how i look lately with my little muscles popping out here and there, if she is in the vicinity not ten minutes later she is lifting her shirt showing off her abs. It's actually kinda funny how it happens just minutes later of her getting an earful. Ok, i don't hate her it is a bit of jealousy but it does make me work out or run that extra mile when i am at the gym, a little extra motivation i guess. But I am doing it the right way!!!!! and there is no other way to do it in my eyes. |

thank you for the replys. I know this is just a childish jealousy thing. I have always been very competitive having all my cousins being boys. i was such a tomboy growing up. I do feel great inside and outside. And my guess is she couldn't do 1/4 of my workout without passing out. I am very close to a six pack, just a little tiny bit of fat covering it up right now. I have also been learning to kitesurf so i want to look and feel my best when i am walking my board & kite past all those lazy beached people/girls giving me dirty looks. I guess this thing is all about confidence that I want now, since i never had any growing up. |

i have always had god in my life but i think he worked through my mom to get me healthy. My mother passed several years ago from diabetes, and i was borderline diabetic heading in the same diection. It wasn't until last year though i decided i was going to make a change and i needed both of thier help. Everytime i wanted to get off that treadmill i would ask her to give me all the strength to get through another mile. Little by little i started doing better. I attribute all the greatness in my life to god who has always pulled me out of trouble. My mother gave me the strenght to keep going, Just because she passed didn't mean she was out of my life i felt her pumpmg though me everytime i went running. |

I guess comfort is why so many of us stay *chubby* for so long. I don't ever remember seeing my ribs growing up, a collarbone yeah that would pop up occasionally when i would break up with a guy and be depressed and not eat. On the saggy boobs, yep check that one--went from a large D 36-38 to a 34-c. uhhmm i guess i can live with that. Legs and thighs not shrinking as much as the rest of my body. I run 3-5mi 5-7 days a week so why aren't they leaner. Very muscular though i might add. Being cold all the time absolutely, even when the temp is 74. Well at least I am not alone in this fight. Thanks for chiming in people. But not I am not risk for diabetes and heart disease which runs in my family, so it sounds like a great exchange. One of these days i'll stop smoking. |
