| Foods | lunch meat CAUSES CANCER!!!! | Feb 23 2008 02:32 (UTC) |

Hmm.. From a basic-highschool-biology point of view let's think, Lunch meat is made of animals, which have fat in their bodies. Fat molecules contain concentrated amount of the pesticides, chemicals, PCBs, heavy metals (mercury, etc.) the animals eat in their food. Quite frankly, I believe hands-down, even with no evidence, that chemicals, metals, PCBs, etc. cause major bodily harm. I know human bodies aren't supposed to withstand alien substances. |

| Hey I'm just like you! Same age, same height (but .5 inches taller ha!), same (sort of) ideal weight.... and I want those abs too! Well, actually, I switch from wanting them to not. Like maybe I don't want to look that buff? I'm not sure. Half a year ago I was all for it and did my daily crunches, so I had a soft 4-pack. Now I'm lazy. ahha well tell me what you decide. | |||

Everyone thinks of the Parent Trap when I say I fence! haha. Yeah, I wear the ridiculous white costume + mask, but it's without jumping over fences and falling in water troughs. I practice 4 times a week, but it's more skill than cardio. So, I tried crunches today, and I can do about 30 comfortably. Where are you guys at? |

I realize the skinny bottom one most likely doesn't eat enough and is unhealthy to look like that... but don't insult the uncurvy, skinny, straight women! We can be beautiful too! |

Good to know I'm in good company with 90% of americans! I'm not at alllll trying to lose any weight... if anything I should gain a few. I just was curious about this diet. As imccarthy said, it makes for much more excitement in eating! Like yesterday, I ate 1600 (hot chocolate, salads, cereal) but today I've already eaten 900 (pumpkin oatmeal, bread pudding) with plans to eat large tonight (restaurant birthday dinner) to come out at 1900. I think it makes more sense: I listen to what my body needs that particular day... some days you're hungry, some days not. I recommend it! |

It isn't all fun in the park being short and petite either! I'm both... without the hourglass figure. Just straight up and down, no boobs, no butt, no hips, no nothing! Talk about feeling unfeminine! We've just got to learn to deal! (and no one is ever happy with what they have!) |

| Health & Support | help re: Raynaud's or Reynauld's or "white finger" syndrome | Dec 07 2007 04:05 (UTC) |

I've been told I have a minor case of Reynauld's Syndrome. In any temperatue weather (even 80+), my hands and feet remain ice cold. When it gets below 60 outside, my hands start turning purple/grey. It's pretty unattractive :). They've never become white though, so I count myself lucky. I usually try to massage them and heat them up with my body. |

| Maintaining | CC's numbers aren't working out for me... Any advice? | Nov 30 2007 05:26 (UTC) |

Thanks for all those links!-- amazing! Well... I've learned that my BMI is 17.2, which is healthy. I should eat between 1700 and 2020 calories daily. CC says I should eat about 1800 daily. I also found my mistake----- I used the "Calories to Reach Goal Weight" calculator... so they were reducing by 500calories daily. Using the regular "Daily Caloric Expenditure", I got the right number, 1800.

| Foods | sneaky little high fructose corn syrup hiding in food!! | Nov 28 2007 04:37 (UTC) |

I thought I would make pecan pie this holiday season--- until I realized the recipe is loaddddded with high fructose corn syrup! Have you ever seen the stuff in the bottle?.... nasty! Honestly, when I make salad for myself I use just plain and simple balsamic vinegar... less messing around with fat and calories. Newman's Own makes nice 'Light' ones though. |

I did the same but 3X! (Thanksgiving and then a birthday dinner and then out to a steakhouse). Yummm pumpkin pie, apple pie, red velvet cake YUM, bread pudding! So after 3 nights of huge dinners my stomach is popping out! Today I've recovered, eating a pear, tomatoes, a plum, and then a small slice of pumpkin pie (leftovers= love them and hate them). I'll eat a regular dinner... most likely a tamale and salad. We'll be fine don't worry!

| Motivation | HELP>> BIGGEST BINGE EVER (4,000 calories) CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES | Nov 19 2007 04:18 (UTC) |
4 |
Oh you are all so sweet and nice!! Great motivational speakers too! I went against your advice and stepped on the scale today.( couldn't resist the temptation my friends!) .... and i weight EXACTLY THE SAME! I was in shock I really couldn't believe it. The bad part is I had to suffer through the first half of the day with a stomachache. All I ate were tangerines until dinner (because honestly I couldn't stomach any real food), when I had a nice steak and salad. So I ended up only eating 1,000 calories (under by 500) but it wasn't me trying to limit myself, it was my stomach telling me what I needed. Whew what a relief! I guess binging can cycle back into normality :) (of course I've learned my lesson and will never, ever do this again!) Thanks so much for helping me through this fellow bingers/anti-bingers! Now, I'm just wondering... but have any of you binged like this? or differently? how did you recover?

| I'm 5'4", 99lbs, and have a 24" waist... with a soft 4-pack. I run for 3-5 miles at a time (only once a week though) and will do sets of 50+ crunches every day or so. | |||

I recently FELL IN LOVE with CLIFF NECTAR BARS... they're almost half the size of cliff bars (160 calories, 6g of dietary fiber, 370mg potassium, 3g protein, 5g insoluble fiber). and they're ORGANIC (organic fruits and nuts!!) I just ate a dark chocolate walnut one (Dates, Walnuts, chocolate, vanilla, cocoa = thats it!)... YUMMMMMM for desert / snack |

| Weight Loss | Overeating vs. Bingeing | Nov 04 2007 19:16 (UTC) |

Here are my *recent* examples: Overeating: Last night for dinner I ordered a beautiful plate of veggie tamales, beans, and rice. It was so delicious I had to eat the whole thing even though I was full halfway through. Definite overeating Binging: Last night (again) I watched a movie with friends + halloween candy = complete binge. At this point I was completely full, but continued to eat 7pieces of chocolate candy (400 fatty calories). It's really a mental thing... I was in control of my eating and I made myself eat so much I felt sick. |

| Weight Loss | Am I Eating Enough Calories for Weight Loss? | Nov 04 2007 00:50 (UTC) |

I really don't understand that because I'm 5'3" too.... but I weight 100lbs. I've already eaten 1200 today and am planning on eating another 600 for dinner= 1800 calories a day. I work out about twice a week... I ran 5 miles this morning. Maybe it has something to do with what kind of calories you are eating? Protein vs. fat vs. sugar? I go with the high-protein and high-fiber path, with mostly fresh fruits and vegetables. I can't fathom someone eating a mere 1000 calories a day AND working out to the extent you do! |
