I am originally from america and I hate the packaging too. Especially the half portions, and the worst is cereal, almost ALWAYS in oz, how much is an ounce, out here is no better, grams!!! ARGH, I do not know how much 45grams of all bran is ok!!!! So When I eat all bran I have this horrible looming paranoia that I am logging it in too low, and when I shoot high with the number, I take extra snacks, because I think I have calories to "spare" ACK!!!!

 It is VERY confusing and I hate it.

Oh yeah, and I have been burned by misreads, and it makes you feel so violated. XP

Peel an apple, spray with spray oil, sprinkle with splenda or whatever, and cinnamon, and place between 2 slices of bread and toast it, its like a little apple pie. I use a toasted sandwich press, but if you dont have one of those, then you can prolly get good results in a pan...

definitely wait and see how you feel. I got really sick recently, and thought I was on the up and up, and did a dance class, and that knocked me out of action for another 2 weeks. So wait until the day you feel better, then wait another day! to make sure its not a fluke! :)

yay, Hi all, I am in it to win this time, no slacking off for me! I am going to go take a walk today and do my taebo tape, and hopefully I will have some good weight loss news this coming saturday.

 

Just one question, saturday over here, is still friday in america, is it ok if I post a few hours early???

dreamer, I SOOOOOOO understand where you are coming from! I almost always eat seconds when I have "mono-meals" (aka one big ole pile of stuff - mmmmmm stuff...) so I try to have my stuff, with some steamed veggies, sliced tomatoes, some salad, or whatever, and it really makes me more ull, I think it has something to do with craving the nutrients of the other foods. I know what you meal, I am such a couch eater, but I have to get out of that for my baby boys sake as well, no eating on the couch for him!

Also try to use nicer plates, I bought some nice black square plates, and I arrange the food on them  llike a restaurant would, and I feel better about the food! I like it bc it makes me visually satisfied and it gives me practise in plating my food up so when I have a restaurant it will be top notch!

Most docs do really know that much about nutrition, I have had docs that told me that eating 500-700 calories a day was fine!!! And I was only 180lb or so at the time!

Just do what you know, be healthy, and the weight will come off at the rate that is right for your own body. Now if only I could take my own advice... ARGH

This is exactly how I started thinking, when I had my baby, it turned out I had developed postnatal depression. Its a terrible feeling to go through what you are going through, and plz do try to speak to someone!

I have Dance UK, and on aerobic mode I burn 90 calories per 5 minute SONG!!!! That is QUITE a burn, but your weight will determine the burn ofcourse, someone weighing 50kg would burn quite a bit less!

 

And Wiifit, I never heard of it, now I think I will use that as ammo to get a wii for myself!!!

Hi I got AMPED set and the amplifier bar, and it is SUCH A GOOD WORKOUT!!!! God grief, that bar seems light, but they really get it to burn, and it is fun too! The motivational stuff at the end is nice albeit it cheesy, but I cannot recommend it enough! But get it cheap ok, I got mine off of ebay bc its hard to get the dvds in australia!

I just say try to think if his flaws are something you can live with, daft, can be tolerated, but abusive cannot , you know what I mean... Just really take some time and think about it, also discuss these things with him, maybe not like "i am thinking of not marrying you" but ask the hard questions to know where you both stand, so you can find out if there are any "deal breakers" before hand. You don't want to get married and find 3 years down the track he wants no kids, and you want 5 kids, y' know?

I don't know the woman personally, so I cant comment on her intelligence or state of mind, but she is beautiful, definitely not fat, and a really good model! Like I mean a REALLY good model, i anyone on here has tried to pose for professional photography, you would know it is NOT EASY at all, and for that I give her props!

Hi I think it is great that you are considering becoming vegan. Just relax, and know that you will make mistakes along the way. Just take it one step at a time, and do what you are comfortable with, if you have any food questions plz do pm me, I love talking about food! LOL

just had a quick look on pubmed database , and found a review that stated that no conclusive evidence is available about whether vegans have lower protein, calcium, or a greater risk of osteoporosis, but they do have evidence of lower general bone density. Just in thatsame breathe though, most vegans tend to have a lower body weight, and body weight is a large factor in bone density...

I used to do a raw food diet for about 2-3 weeks every season, and I think it is really great, you can get all of the protein you need, sprouting, nuts, seeds etc, and it doesnt have to be borng or time consuming! Most of my raw meals were faster than my normal meals! It takes time if you are doing a lot of dehydrating, which is ok, but is kind of unproductive as you need to replace the water in your diet! I think you should try it out for a day first and then 2 days etc. I try to have a raw aspect to every meal, or you can just have one raw meal a day!

If you want some really tasty quick and easy recipes plz do pm me, I would be glad to share, but now I have to get back to cleaning!

Since I don't have scales or use ounces, my suggestion would be to look at the packet next time you are at the store, see the total ounces, and take out the equiv of one serving (1/4 of the bag or whatever) and count the nuts, that should atleast give you a rough Idea!

I would take the high number, because you will feel better knowing that you have covered yourself in case the CC number was right!

African food tends to have similarities to indian food, I would guesss high on the curries, and the bread may have been more in the ball[ark of roti calories than pita, pita is relatively low, but if it was glossy at all iot was prolly fried! But the deliciousness makes it all worth while!

It works REALLY well, it is a little fiddly to get used to the changing part, but it does NOT leak, and it fits with no pain or discomfort whatsoever! Hmmm, The only thing, is that this has been a ver heavy month for me, so I have had to change it over every 4 hours, which is still pretty darned good! I highly recommend!

I think you will be fine, my personal trainer reckons that you should try to eat something with a bit of protein and carbs (a sandwich?) just make sure to eat the right stuff!

ARGH we have the exact same thing going on, I was having insomnia, panic attacks, intrusive thought (they gave me clorpromazine for those) and they classed me as an axiety person too! ARGH, I soooo feel your pain!!!!

 My doc put me up to 2 pills a month or too ago and it was too much for me and i WAS LIKE GRINDING MY TEETH AND and tapping CONSTANTLY, argh, it was soooo horrible, then she put me back down to 1.5... Yeesh, just stay strong, and try to distract yourself when you find that you are feeling off balance. I started drawing, braiding my husbands hair, crotcheting, cooking (sometime in the middle of the night - not good - but that was the best pizza I ever made) and just doing what made me feel good, and push the negative thoughts away, now I hardly have them, no more chlorpromazine, and I should be off the zoloft in 6-8months... whew, thank goodness post natal depression doesnt last forever!!! I thought I was going nuts...

ok a basic recipe is as follows:

 


2       C       flour

1       C       coconut

2        T       sugar

1        t       salt

½      C       oil

½      C       water or juice or soy milk

 

that one works really great for me! Prolly not the healthiest thing in the world, but that will make a pretty big crust, and the coconut can be subbed out by more flour.

 

The main thing is to mix the dry ingredients, then mix the wet ones separately, then pour them into the dry and mix it together with 2 knoves, so that the gluten doesntdevelop and give you a tough crust, also use cold or room temp liquids, and mix until the dough is like pea - sized crumbs.

 

:) hope this helps, of course you can try to healthify it too!

I work from home so a bit different, and I have a 7 month old baby boy, but I do tae bo, sometimes in the morning but mostly at night, i am currently injured so I do an aqua class whenever I cansteal the car away from my hubby. I dance with the baby, or moreso for the baby every few days. And I do power vacuuming while listening to MP3's!
