My sister had one last year, when she was 17. She's not irresponsible at all and also used condoms.

As the person that posted before me said - you've had your period twice, so don't waste time worrying about something that's not going to happen. Look at it as a lesson that we all have to learn at some point.

And I would recommend getting the Pill - condoms aren't 100% effective, the more protection the better, you know?

Also, advice from a slightly wiser 21 year old: sex is a big thing. It changes you in ways that you really don't see coming and aren't aware of until years later. Just be careful, never do anything you don't really want to do, and always make sure you take responsibility for keeping yourself safe.

Now, chillax! It's all good :)

Dear Body,

 Hey.

It's been a while, huh? I don't know exactly what to say.

 I guess I should appologise.

So... I'm sorry.

For comparing you to a shape that you were never meant to be.
For maybe edging a little too close to the bulimic cliff, after all the times I've said I'm too strong for stuff like that, and you're too precious to me.

So um... we've got a long way to go. At some point there'll be a husband and kids, and before all that we need to be really really good friends. So talk to me; tell me what you need, and I promise to listen and not tell you what I want too much.

Oh, I'm Katherine, by the way. It's really nice to meet you.

Love,
Me

Foods CC food suggestions Oct 23 2007

To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if its sponsored in some way - i.e. particular brands are given priority.

However because I'm not THAT cycnical I'll give CC the benefit of the doubt and just say that these are suggestions for healthier alternatives for a few of your current food choices. Sometimes the program screws up and gives you bad alternatives, sometimes it doesn't ;)

Of course taking it as gospel and ONLY eating things on that list will probably make you go mental, so I don't recommend it!

Weight Loss For Anyone that allows themselves a cheat day... Oct 23 2007

I'm kinda curious - do you guys enter your cheat-days into CC? If so how many more calories do you usually eat on a cheat day? Also do you just eat whatever you feel like, or put a limit on it?

I have a cheat evening on Thursday - after a day of 7 1/2 hours of lectures I NEED something in my last 3 hours of marketing research! Usually a Kit-Kat. But the prospect of a cheat 'day' is interesting! :)

Thanks

What the hell is wrong with some people??

Stick to liquids until your throat is better - I used to have fruit sorbet (or just ice) while I had glandular fever & couldn't swallow without excruciating pain. Also really soft, non-acidic fruits: maybe canned peaches?

I guess whatever you can handle swallowing!

You have my full sympaty :S

Weight Loss Number Snobs! Oct 21 2007
17:53 (UTC)

Numbers give me a concrete way to gauge the progress I see in the mirror, or feel. I don't own scales and haven't weighed myself in a while, but the Calorie counting gives me what I need to succeed: a goal against which I can measure my progress.

Each to their own, I say. What works for me may not be what works for you, and what works for a blatant 'number snob' may not work for either or us.

I'm tackling the same problem at the moment - how to eat enough fruit & veges without blowing the budget! Recently I realized that a supermarket that is a 15min walk away is a whole lot cheaper than the one just around the block. By shopping less often (to minimize the amount I have to carry back to my flat) and making the effort to walk there I can kill two birds with one stone.

Otherwise take advantage of sale items, and I find it helpful to make a lot of a particular meal (e.g. pasta or a healthy chili) and freezing it for those days when I'm snowed under with work & just don't have the time to cook a healthy meal for myself.

Soup is also a great option.
