Thanks for all the replies everyone! I am making salmon with green beans and white beans (I don't know what they are called) for dinner instead of rice or pasta!! I'm very excited about this. I have had a few days of pretty awful eating, high in fat and low in fiber, so I'm really looking forward to this dinner. I'm definitely going to be picking up barley and more polenta next time I go shopping. Oh and I'd definitely join that club jnance! |

Thanks everyone, I think I'm going to give up on the idea for now anyways. I know my nails can grow nicely if I give them the attention, I've just been lazy about it these days, so I think instead of the kit I'll spend the 20 bucks on some nice polishes and files/buffers, and all that good stuff. Thanks for all the advice!

June 8th - 124.6 Last weigh in - 125.8 Starting weight - 129.8 Goal - 117
Yesterday it said 122.8!!! I'm going with the higher weight though, maybe that will make next week a suprise, I can't help but weigh in on Sundays, so I prob should just make that my weigh in day so I don't see this stuff. |

I still have yet to decide, so I'm thinking that is a bit of a sign in and of itself. I've just had a hell of a time growing 'em out and wanted to give it a try, we'll see. Thanks for all the input. |

Ah! Polenta! and Barley! haha you guys are totally kicking my head back into gear! I bought polenta about a month ago too, but I was using it as the protein in the meal, don't know why I didn't even think of it as the starch. Thanks! Keep 'em coming. |

SW : 129 June 1st : 125.6 125 is where I was last week and then was suddenly 129, so it may look like I lost 4 in a week, but I'm pretty sure it had to do with some water weight. But yay for what seems like 4 pounds gone!

| Weight Loss | What do you do on nights like these... | May 28 2009 23:29 (UTC) |

I tried something different today in hopes to keep the 4pm hunger at bay : I had a bigger breakfast. Instead of just the high fiber cereal and fruit, or scrambled egg whites and toast with jam, I decided to have the cereal with strawberries and toast with peanut butter. I was so busy doing work I didn't realize it was 1pm and I still hadn't had lunch (I was waiting for the hunger to kick in). So I had a nice small lunch and a tiny snack at 4pm and I'm good to go until dinner! I guess my body just wants more in the morning.

That is the only way to poach an egg, it's great because it has less fat since you are not using any oil. You should try putting some vinegar in the water and see if that helps. If it's the texture you're having problems with then I suggest you don't poach 'em. |

I'm definitely not feeling bad, and I decided to input what I ate (minus the "nibbles" of the leftovers cause that's just impossible) and I was at 1200, so I think I'm going to make a very large salad with lots of black beans and corn and bulky veggies. That always fills me up, and after putting it in I'm only going to be 200 over, so not a bad day. Just a weird day for sure. I don't know where it came from or what to do at 4pm when my alotted snack doesn't cut it. |

Current : 127 Goal : 115-117 Plan : continue running and adding miles, swim 2 hours a week (one hour class twice a week), add some strength training. LOTS OF WATER. And not to stress!

I'm in. I'm 127 right now, my normal weight is between 115-117, so a little less than 15. But it'd be nice to be apart of a group. |

| I buy the quick oats, and make a 1/2 cup dry, and that is 150 cal (according to the box) - does 1/2 cup dry equal a cup once cooked? Or am I buying the wrong type, cause if I can eat a cup for 150 that'd be great. | |||

Oo, those are good ideas. I'm not sure if I'm exactly going for romance, but more along the lines of portable and delicious and HEALTHY. I always tend to gain and feel ill the next Monday after a weekend visit. Since I'm hoping we'll be alone all weekend, and without a kitchen I don't want us to end up at restaurants and eating crap. I found a recipe for pumpkin biscuits so I think I'm going to make those as well as bring a nice fruit salad and some sort of vegetable dish. Since there is a fridge and a microwave I think that will be good, and keep me from wanting to die the next Monday. Also there is an indoor pool and sauna / hot tub, so I think I'll "race" him a few times...you know, to get some laps in :-P.

Thanks mary! I actually am a bit of a whiz-kid in the kitchen, and my roommate has a boatload of spices. I just find it hard to get into cooking for myself. When my boyfriend is around I cook all the time, but for myself I cook an actual meal maybe once a week. I do like to throw rice/beans together all the time, so that's for that Forbidden Rice idea, and I think I'll pick up more beans today when I'm shopping. I wish I had a slow cooker and/or a foodsaver. I'm moving in December and starting on my Masters in Chicago - I have been getting on people to get me stuff like this...as housewarming gifts of course ;) |

| Weight Loss | I burn less than I am supposed to eat. | Oct 19 2007 02:26 (UTC) |

Yeah I guess what I'll do is stick with my usual 1200-1300 and not be too upset if I go over. I mean, 1700 is a lot for me, but it is doable on certain occasions (read : football games).
