yikes she really needs to self censor a little better. it does seem like she was trying to be funny/self deprecating but she really should have stuck to being polite and gracious and left the humor to Tina Fey. how embarassing.... |

| Motivation | seriously, a whole pack of milanos? | Jan 14 2009 06:24 (UTC) |

I didn't read through all of the responses so I'm not sure if someone else already suggested this and apologize if I am repeating a tip but I would avoid letting yourself take the bag anywhere with you. For me, sitting down with a package of something never leads to anything good. If you are going to eat a milano, take ONE out of the package (or whatever serving you have decided to eat) and then close the package, put it in the cabinet, walk away and eat and log your cookie. Before you go to get another cookie, make sure you log it so you are aware of exactly what you are doing. This may not help you, but it helps me because I then have to go through many steps that its not possible to thoughtlessly overdo it. Pepperidge farm cookies cookies especially provide multiple steps because the packages have that wierd closure where it rolls down and then tabs fold over (you know what I mean). Even better, like others have suggested you could find a sweet that takes longer to eat or is more satisfying. Personally, I like letting a piece of dark chocolate fully melt in my mouth. This takes a long time and really satisfies my sweet tooth more than eating a cookie or chewing that same chocolate would. |

Original Post by skierdude: even before i was trying to eat healthy i would frequently ordered salads because I really enjoy the taste. i think the problem with the quiznos salad is mainly in the dressing. besides that its just chopped veggies and maybe some cheese too i forget. it also comes with the buttered flatbread that might not even be included in the 1100 cals. haha i would never order it now though, its not worth it. |

lately i've been having warm steamed asparagus on top of cold greens with some balsamic vinaigrette or Newman's own oriental dressing. its great when asparagus is in season and so delicious. plus its filling! |

Quizno's flatbread salad with honey mustard dressing is over 1100 calories. A really heartbreaking moment for me when I discovered this because I used to order it all the time. |

no matter how good your teeth look you should still be brushing them twice every day, it only takes two minutes and could have probably prevented the situation you are experiencing now. the health of your mouth affects the mouth your entire body so take care of it. if you can't go to the dentist definately bring it up to your doctor when you go |

hyperventilating sounds like exactly what i am doing! i am going to try the breathing method you suggest but i don't think i need to see a doctor just yet. if this continues after my stress levels decrease though I definitely will go to a professional. thanks gi-jane and iamme for your advice. |

thanks for your advice! Deep breathing is generally what I try but it's hard when you're all worked up and your minds is racing, etc etc. The good news is that this will all be over within a few weeks. I will try the benedryl if i continue to have trouble sleeping. |

sorry, a little off topic but this post made me think of this. my friends and i had a debate once at a restaurant about whether bison and buffalo were two different kinds of animals or two names for the same thing. I think my friend's argument was that they were different - one was endangered and one wasn't. i know it's a really weird thing to argue about but we got so heated i think we had to ask the waitress to clear it up for us. hehe |

there is a definite possibility that there have been days (most likely occurring during my freshman year of college) where i hit 6000 or more calories. Luckily I wasn't counting calorie then and I can just live in blissful ignorance and be happy that things have changed now. |

really? wow I had always hear that iceberg lettuce had no real nutritional value. I see what you guys mean. sprouts are another option that can add crunch to a sandwich though. I figured price probably was a big reason for iceberg's continued popularity |

This happens to me too! If I manage to not give in to that first craving I'm fine but let's say I have one girl scout cookie I will suddenly give myself permission to go nuts. The really key thing is to stop and think and not give into that first craving. If you do - then put a piece of gum in your mouth (maybe an alternative to that onion idea heh). Anyway, good luck and take comfort in the fact that this happens to everyone! |

eeek i guess i owe you guys an apology i should never have introduced the word trashy to this convo. i deviated from the topic and i intruded on your question notalone i'm really sorry about that. i hope you can understand that i TRULY didn't mean any harm, I was not passing any judgment on any one here i was just curious but this wasn't the place to voice my questions and speculations. good luck with your piercing i'm excited for you. believe it or not my best friend has both her nipples pierced (she told me they were less painful than getting her nose done actually). we haven't discussed it too much but as far as i know she is happy with them. |

it sounds like everyone here has heard weight related/health related remarks that were hurtful. so sad that this is such a sensitive and contentious issue. but in the end all you can control is your own actions. just treat others with respect and hopefully you will get the same in return. if not, get over it and move on. |
