| I have the same problem! I feel so disproportionate, but it probably is genetics... since my thighs have the same problem (stubborn bulge/fat in the upper thigh, more defined muscle in the lower half). |

| Thanks, I've actually been doing better. I think it's easier to eat more over the weekend. Work keeps me real busy and I end up spending little time for food. Yea, I only eat half an apple at a time. I just feel satisfied. I leave the other half for a snack later. I wouldn't mind eating more peanut butter =). | |||

| I've never heard of the term "safe" foods before. The jello's a suggested snack in the SBD book- I tried it and love it. Thanks for the nuts idea, nycgirl. =) | |||

| Weight Loss | Not able to eat 1200 calories???!!! How is this possible? | Nov 03 2007 16:24 (UTC) |

labathazor- Maybe your post is in response to my "help! Am I undereating?" post from last night. Maybe not. But I am one of those people who finds it difficult to eat 1200 calories a day. I am a very petite person who leaves very little unhealthy food in the pantry or fridge. I love food way to much to be anorexic, and no one looking at me would ever think that. I am normal, according to my BMI. I wrote that post because I couldn't understand why I wasn't eating enough, as I've never calorie counted in the past. I even posted everything I ate that day to prove that yes, I am eating and I am eating nearly 5-6 times a day. I am also a very frugal person so I rarely eat out, perhaps that has something to do with it. I am also doing the South Beach Diet (I gained nearly 20 lbs in the last two yrs and just wanted to be able to have my old body back). SBD trains you to choose foods that have a low glycemic index - foods that don't spike your blood sugar level and bring it down quickly so you're hungry again. Perhaps this is why I'm just not as hungry. I'm not exactly sure what it is but I am sincerely concerned and trying to do something about it. Please don't (as you say) let your ignorance "jump to the conclusion that [we] are only anorexic girls who want to be more and more anorexic." |

| I most definitely don't want my metabolism to slow down so I went and ate a hard boiled egg, a slice of whole grain bread, and a few semi-sweet chocolate morsels as dessert (keeping with SBD rules). That upped the count to almost 1100- I know it's not much, but it's some progress right? Maybe I should eat more for breakfast and lunch. Thanks for the replies! | |||
| Weight Loss | Who wants to lose 10 lbs by Christmas? | Nov 02 2007 21:11 (UTC) |
130 |
Definitely down for it. I'm responding a bit late, but I've been on the South Beach Diet and have already lost 10 lbs (phase 1- restrictive/rapid weight loss). Currently: 5'2, 116 lbs. I'd be perfectly happy with 110, but 105-106 would be ideal. I have some old clothes I would looooove to be able to fit back into. |
