Marilies- thank you for getting this started again. I am SO proud of you for your wonderful weight loss!!! 50 pounds is a great point to reach! Tanya- It sounds like you are doing wonderfully! How has the running been going for you? Are you still keeping it up in the frosty weather? I think all of have been struggling...so it's great that we're starting over! KC- Uck! Sounds like you had a crappy week! Are you feeling better now? How was Asia? I think that it would be amazing!! Lately, for me thinks have been nuts! (It seems like I'm not alone...) My mom was in the hospital having issues with her heart again, and then the friday she was in the hospital...my dad had to go in because they thought he had a blood clot going to his lungs. Not good. They're both doing better though. My big boy turned 2 on November 3 and we take him to the pediatrician and we are now testing his hearing to see if he's having issues because his speech is behind. My youngest has had cradle cap gone crazy and causing a rash all over his body. Can someone give me a break here??!!! So, needless to say...I haven't been to the gym much lately. I want to go back this week...but since I'm a stubborn person...I never went to the doc, so my bronchitis is back...so issues with the breathing. I'm trying to do what I can. Thrilled to step on the scale and see 200.8 though!! So close to making it to the 100's!!!! I'm glad to hear from you guys, and only hope to hear from more later. Rach

Hey, girlies! It took me a little bit to find this posting. Between being sick and stressed out last week...I'm feeling better this week and ready to get back on the weightloss bandwagon! I'm still trying to get used to this cold weather...I've been just wanting to stay in bed and stay warm...but I've been trying to get into the gym. I hope everyone is having a great week! Rach |

Misty- I love my job and to be honest, it's usually not too difficult to find a job. It seems they are always looking for RTs. Instead of being in just one area of the hospital...we're all over! So, I find people to talk to all over the hospital (especially since at this new job, I'm the only RT on the shift!). I would recommend the job to someone if you can handle sputum and some of the other things you just get used to. Trachs used to gross me out...but now there nothing. We also have the great task of suctioining people. Like I said, I love my job...but I always have nurses asking me how I can stand it. Any more questions, please ask me I'm going to attempt to be more active in writing down what I'm eating. I know that is what's holding me back from losing more weight. I've been terrible with my eating! Little update on my brother. Instead of facing his problems, he has decided to move to Tennessee. That'll show the police officers for trying to find him. He's not listening to reasoning right now, plus he thinks he needs to get away from his friends that have been a bad influence on him. I keep hoping that one day he'll turn around. Then again...we thought he was doing better last time he got out of jail 3 years ago.. We'll see. Well, I'm going hiking with the family today...so I'll let you guys now how much I'm hurting afterwards! Rach |

kc- lol! I'll admit it...I cheated! I couldn't get the chart to work for me...so I used the glorious "Tab" button often. Sorry!! I love the goals for the next 12 weeks. Much more doable!! I'm SO happy that it is the weekend now, though. I am so tired...this week kicked my butt!! I'm not sure if I've ever explained what I do, but I'm a respiratory therapist at a hospital...so I give breathing treatments, manage ventilators, do EKG's, and whatever random things come up or answer calls because the operator doesn't know who would have the answer...so it they automatically assume it's us. Because of the crazy weather changes around here lately, we've been having quite a few people in with pneumonia, bronchitis, and people with chronic lung conditions have also been flooding the doors. Been keeping me busy!!! Okay...my big goal is to eat well this weekend. The weekends have been killing me! You guys need to keep me in line!! Well...ttyl!! Rach |

Hello! First, I wanted to thank everyone for their kind words. With the amount of stress I've been dealing with, it's nice to know you're not alone and that others have been through it. Tanya- You're right. A loss is a loss...embrace it! I like the thought of your waist been undersized!! Thank you, though. This whole situation with my brother is very embarrassing, and it's nice to know that others have gone through it. KC- Thank you for taking over the leadership role! If it makes you feel better, maybe each week we could all pitch in that way it's not all on you. I'll join you in the stair climbing, but I warn ya...there are only two floors in the hospital with a basement. I've been trying to find reasons to go on the other floors though so I could take the stairs! That counts, right?! Erin- I need to work on the water thing as well. Was doing so good for awhile...but after awhile...just forgot to drink it! Just keep with it, I'm sure you'll get your exercising back in order. How is your puppy doing? Marlies- I was ready old posts and was reading about your results, and I'm thrilled for you! Knowing what it is now must be quite a bit of stress of your back. It sounds like you're really on track and I'm sure you'll have no problem fitting into that shirt wonderfully for Christmas! And I KNOW you went up to the "brothers" and mentioned my undying love for them, right? I pretty sure I could have taken on the mob! That's hilarious though!! Matty- I LOVE that little quote. I think maybe well all need to remind ourselves of that every now and then. I'm thinking my lack of a loss this week is also the water weight...or chinese...or pizza...or the other crap I ate this past week!! I'm sticking with you, not posting last weeks lost...time to start again!! My 10% goal for this session is: 20.4 pounds...or getting me down to 184! No excuses this time... 2babetterb- That's great that you're getting your sister's clothes! Just keep up all the hard work and sure before you know it...she'll be wearing YOUR old clothes! I appreciate your support as well. Nilly- You're working that skirt!! Good for you!! I heard Jillian's tip about the jumping jacks as well and I've been trying to stick to that. I LOVE that show!!! I cry each week when someone is voted off! All of you have been so much support, and I can honestly say that I probably would have given up on the whole journey if it had not been for all of your kind and encouraging words. It's great to have a wonderful support system. I hope everyone's week is going well! Rach |

Hey, ladies...just wanted to check in real quick. It seems when life is stressful enough as it is...something else is thrown at ya. Long story short, the local paper in this area started posting pics and profiles of the "Most Wanted" for the county. Today was the first day for it...low and behold...first person they print is my brother. I love him to death...but he's made many unwise decisions in his life. 3 years ago he got out of jail (for the 3rd time...) and was placed on probation for his felony charge of theft and fraud. Well, he decided to stop going to see his probation officer despite how much my parents and I lectured him. Now they're looking for him. I'm not sure if anyone cared to hear about my drama...but I'm sharing it. I'm trying to keep looking up...but it's difficult. So much going on right now. Sorry I haven't really been here for a bit. I'll comment later on everyone else. Here's to a new 12 weeks! Rach |

Tanya- You are awesome! I can't imagine going half that distance! You must feel great. Jella- Isn't it amazing how fast they grow! It must be nice to have them back. Nilly- Isn't amazing how well children handle things? They never cease to amaze me. When I used to volunteer at the place with grieving children (I was with the 6-9 year olds), they would sometimes say the most profound things. Well...tomorrow I've talked the hubby into going to the gym with me, so we'll see how that goes. Talk to you guys later. Rach |

Hello, all! This has been a long week! One of the girls that works the weekends just had a miscarriage, so we were helping out by picking up her hours. So, I've been working about 6 days a week plus trying to spend time with the family. Every time I've logged on and starting typing to you guys, my son seems to get into something. Little rascal...lol Despite the busy schedule and my visitor still on the couch (plus apparently I'm his answering service), I've managed to keep up on my work-outs. I joined the YMCA ("it's fun to stay at the...") with some co-workers and I did an hour long work-out this morning. 30 on the elliptical and 30 with some weight training. I'm sore, but feel amazing. This week I decided it was some time for some changes, because overall I wasn't feeling good about myself. Thus the membership, plus I dyed my hair red...always loved it red and I haven't done it in awhile. I decided that it is a great time to start taking care of myself better. Enough of the "motivational sounding" speech. I weighed in a 204.6 this week...just never posted it. Down almost a pound from last week, so I'm curious to see what next week's going to be like. I've been absolutely loving this weather though (like many have mentioned), and I'm excited for Halloween!!! My fave holiday! I've been trying to think of how to dress up the boys. I was tempted to make the oldest Darth Vader and the youngest Yoda. They'd be cute. Haven't completely decided yet though. I think this weekend I'm going to start decorating the house. Already have the pumpkin spice candle burning...yummy... resipsa99- That's great that you got your new bike!! How do you like it so far? That hilarious about being caught "dripping" with the board member! kc- how do the gala go? What do you do for a living? With meeting the the big chief, I didn't realize we had a celebrity in the room! :) Very cool though. I'm guessing you're one I probably don't want to get into the big debate of who to pick for the presidency, huh? Dutch- You said you were going to find out the results today? I hope all is well and you're in my thoughts. About the one pound loss...embrace it and be happy! One less pound dragging you down. Just keep up the great work and it'll keep coming off. Matty- I understand where you're coming from. There have been many times when my brain keeps telling me that it was comfortable with my weight and I should stay right there. Just keep up the good work and maybe have some healthy alternative to ice cream in your freezer. So, maybe your brain is thinking...yumm...calories...while you're really not getting as much. I've starting making some "grahamwiches." Just 2 graham crackers with some flavored cool-whip in between them. For 2 sandwiches it was like 150 calories. I'm not sure if that is much help...but my brain always hits the "feed me sweets" mode in the afternoon, and these have been a yummy treat for me. Shanny- That's great that you've been doing so well! Just moving more must feel great for you! I'm sure that you'll keep having some great loses. Erin- I hope that you have a great birthday and it sounds like this weekend is going to be a blast!! Jella- Were you able to avoid the cupcakes? I hope you and Sarah are having a great time without the boys. Makeover time and slumber parties! 2babetterb- Has this week gone better for you? Are you keeping up with the logins? It's so difficult to do sometimes...I keep forgetting to do it myself.... OH! Also...my 3-month rolled over for the first time this week! Exciting! I love kids... I hope everyone has a great weekend! Rach |

I'm sorry I've been MIA this week, it's just been a long week. Confession to make, completely fell of the wagon yesterday. Had an absolute terrible day at work, so I went out to dinner with some friends afterwards. It didn't stop with the dinner...drinks went with the dinner...then there was karaoke with a few more drinks...and then a friend paid me $40 to sing "We Built This City On Rock and Roll." My head hurts now, I didn't pull myself out of bed for my morning run (which I'm going to make up for that tomorrow!!), and I'm worried that my fiasco last night will effect weigh-in. Did I mentioned my head hurts? I need to find more constructive ways of handling my bad days. This has been the first time in quite awhile since I've gone out with the girls and drank. Misty- I'm sorry to hear about your cousin. I'll be thinking of you in this difficult time. I know I still haven't posted goals or anything. This has just been an all around off week for me. I see posts have gone down this week. I hope everyone is doing okay and hope to hear from everyone. |

Let me first start off by saying that I weighed in this morning at 205.4...almost 2 pounds! I also just had this amazing breakfast..tres yummy! Banana smothered with low sugar peanut butter with some boston cream yogurt and a little granola. Num num. I was going to do my DVDs this morning, but I have a house guest right now, my brother, and he has taken control of the TV and is watching sports... sports usually are not on in our house! He got kicked out of his house...AGAIN... and he and his wife are usually threatening divorce at least once a month. It gets old. Other family new is that my dad is going in for an ultrasound today because they think he has a hernia and that it might be serious. He might be having surgery soon. If you have time, say a prayer for him. I'll do the goals later...my mind is a little preoccupied right now. I hope everyone has a nice week! Rach |

Resipsa99- It's a date! I'll "meet" you in the morn! Happy running! Matty- Welcome to the group!! I love "10 things I hate about you!!!!" The music in that movie is amazing and I ALWAYS get a tear in my eye when she reads her poem at the end. I now have the urge to watch that movie! Sounds like you're getting close to your 10% goal! Awesome! Okay, ladies, I ordered The Biggest Loser: Cookbook off of Amazon.com, and I'll have to say that the recipes look very yummy. I created a daily menu for my household for Sunday and Monday (need to work on the rest of the week). I've roped in my husband and he is now being included in my diet...and no, I didn't ask him! I figured he'd eat whatever I make...which is pretty much true! Well, I was going to take the kiddos to the zoo tomorrow, but it's being raining all day here...so I'm guessing that it's out now. Plus, my friend that was going to go with me has a sick child now. I'm still trying to think of something to do. I need to get out!! The gas prices are getting insane, though. On filled up on my way home from work because my co-worker that came in to relieve me said that at a town 10 miles away from us the prices had gone up to $5.57/gal. That's INSANE!!! Good thing I'm not driving over an hour to get to work now! Well...I'll chat with you all later! Bye!! Rach |

Okay, didn't get my third day of running in today. I'll have to wake up earlier tomorrow and get out. I was getting ready to go out this morning, and my oldest son woke up...so he was ready for some breakfast. Since I can't count on my husband getting out of bed before 9 (I'm kind of cranky about that right now, can ya tell?) I stayed inside. I still hit the Tae Bo while my son Tristan munched on some Cheerios. After he was done, he did some kicking with me...it was quite amusing!! resipsa99- You have opened my eyes! To be honest, I had NO clue about different tires and about the different bodies and all that jazz. I would be thrilled if you might be able to share anything you learn with us! kc- Sounds like a productive night! We all need some more insight on ruining the government! lol Welcome, though! It's great to see some many people on here really getting into the biking! It's something I've considered. I've done a little biking here and there...but not too much. Misty- Good job with "mostly" staying away from the chips...it takes a lot of will power to give up something you enjoy! I'll be crossing my fingers for you on Monday! And by the way...SO Jealous of your encounter with the sex goddess Scott! Beautiful eyes!! Jella- Nice to see you back! Good luck with getting the job! I'm sure it will be a major transition for your family, but in the long run it seems like it will be wonderful for you! Lisa- I'm excited to hear about your new job! Hopefully all goes will with it! Dutch- What is quinoa? I've never heard of it. I have been feeling great though, amazingly I've actually had energy!! I'm sure you'll look awesome in your formal wear though!! I'll be rooting for you! Shanny- What kinds of food are you eating that are making you feel better? Maybe we can help by recommending some alternatives or you can make some of the stuff yourself and make it a little healthier, so when you do indulge it won't be as bad. I'm sorry to hear that you're having such a bad week though. I hope things are getting better. Erin- I hope things are getting easier for you and hopefully you'll get over your plateau. We're here for you. Liz- I'm sure your habits will come back. How have you been doing with the soda? |

I first wanted to start off by thanking Liz yet again. You have been amazing for this group and it's wonderful that you've managed to do all of this for us despite your busy schedule! Thank you! I also love the idea of the success stories...those are my favorite to read as well! So far as looking back...if I would have kept on this diet when I started it last October (and didn't get pregnant!) I would be about 15 pounds away from my goal. I'm not going to let that get me down though, because I know that I'm trying to better myself this time around. Before it was always about losing the weight the fastest way possible and this is more of a lifestyle change (that might go in my success story...even though I'm sure it's been used many times before!!) 2babetterb- It's great to see ya back!! Was starting to get worried... I shiver to think of the world with no internet! It just shows ya how much we rely on it anymore!! Wonderful weight loss, though!! resipsa99- It's okay to share secrets, but when it comes to Billy Ray...you've pushed it...lol I used to love him as well! I remember being in choir and we sang "Achy Breaky Heart" and even had some awful line dance to go to it that we made up ourselves. Hopefully noone taped that because I would hate for that to resurface! Anyway, with the C25K it's kinda of like what you're already doing. For the first week it's walk for 5, run for 60 sec, walk for 90 sec, run for 60...and so on. There are some great podcasts that tell you when to do each and comes with some jamming music. Lisa- I think quite a few of us follow under the weighing themselves category. I know when I'm doing this exercising at eating well...I want to see results! I agree that weighing once a week would make the loss mean more...it's so hard though! Erin-That's great that you're thinking of doing the Race for the Cure! What better motivation do you need besides a charity cause! I think that's wonderful. |

Okay! Weighed myself this morning....207.2! Lost a pound! This morning will also make it (drumroll please....) my fourth day in a row of working out!!! I feel great! I've also got one of my Yoga Booty Ballet routines down now! lol Looks like I might switch to my belly dancing! Love it! I'm little sore right now...busy at work again, so I was up and down the stairs. Everyone is getting sick and all the asthmatics were coming in. The emergency room was hopping! I need new shoes..I'm determined that's why I'm sore. Oh! I reached my first weight loss goal of losing 10 pounds (since I started CC again in July)...so I need to schedule my pedicure!!! I'm not sure how this is going to be. Sounds like a great idea, but my feet are extremely ticklish!! Nilly- Good job with losing some more weight! I know you'll make your goal of see a "1" in the front by this month. We'll help ya get there! On a side note, did you hear New Kids on the Block are coming back? lol Dutch- I never have been a big runner, but this program really does help. I really encourage you to just try it for a week! Congrats of making it the the overweight category! The way this group is sounding this week...I think a few of us are going to join you soon! That's great that you've lost 41 so far...but think of how much better you'll feel once you get that other 50 off. You'll be a major hottie (and also feel great)!!

It actually felt great, too! Tanya- A big welcome to you! You'll love this group! Lisa- That's crappy about your job. I hope things get better for you soon. Erin- Sounds like you guys had a blast. Hi jmprgrl74! I can understand the busy thing! I've got two little boys at home, 11 weeks and 22 months, and I'm working full-time as well. Sounds like you're off to a great start though with working out regularly...just need to conquer those weekends! So far as getting the family to eat healthier have you thought about replacing some of the food for healthier selections? That's what I've started doing, my hubby isn't too gung-ho about eating healthy. So, if he's wanting spaghetti I'll make it with whole grain noodles and ground turkey. It seems to work. Good luck to you! |

I agree with queenmedia: have you talked to your doctor about some preventative inhalers? I've been asthmatic for years and I'm also a respiratory therapist. It's amazing how much Advair helps! Like others have said as well, it might not be just the asthma making it hard to breathe while exercise...extra weight will do that as well. I can vouch for that! It'll get easier and just remember to take your inhaler with you. |

Thank you! Someone else out there understands me. I try to hide my passion for the Jonas brothers...love Camp Rock! (Your the voice I hear inside my head...) Yes, they may be a little young for me... and Dutch...don't worry...we'll tell anyone of the crime you have committed...they deserve their slow death...creepy little things... Okay, I've been thinking long and hard about these goals we time limits. I think...I mean I KNOW what I want to do. Well, I've got the one goal of losing 20 pounds by December 8th (it's a Monday so I can let you guys know how I did!!) Another goal I have is by September 15th I'm going to stop drinking my drinking with the artificial sweetener in them. No Splenda for me! Straight water! I'm also starting (I AM GOING TO DO IT!!) the Couch to 5k thing this Monday. I'm sure there will be more things I'm gong to add...but this is a start! |
