As above you actually want to stay to plain water or I add in lemon juice to my water. The carbonation is not good for woman. Like the carbonation in diet soda, it will reduce your bone density. Woman struggle with their bone density, and carbonation in diet sodas and carbonated seltzer water are poison!

It's the phosphoric acid, not the carbonation, and is bad for your kidneys as well as your bones. But as to OP any water counts toward your daily total. Be it tap, seltzer, or juice from the melon at breakfast.

Hey hon, I don't have much advice on the food situation as you seem to be doing all that you can atm and I know myself how very pricey it is to eat healthy. I do have my own example to give you al lil hope about your baby weight, however. I was 160 when I got pregnant (keep in mind I'm a lot shorter than you at 5'4"). When I hit 205 somewhere in my last trimester I quit paying attention to the doc's scale cause I just didn't want to know. By the time the kiddo was 4 months old I was back to my starting weight and I hadn't even really tried, though I was breastfeeding which does aid weight loss. Then, with a lil bit of effort on my part, I got to 120 (my lowest weight and 40lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight!) by the time she was 1 yr....though this past holiday season has seen me gain 5 back that I'm having trouble finding the discipline to lose again.

Anyway, there is hope and having a baby doesn't mean a woman will have to be over weight there after. Besides, what other time in your life is it encouraged and acceptable to gain weight? I certainly enjoyed the freedom to eat when I was pregnant!

I've never had them, even at 120 lbs....I think I have just have too much padding there, lol. Anyway, if I remember my anatomy classes right, they're caused by the Superior Posterior Iliac Spine. An attatchment point for gluteal muscles..... but don't quote me!
Pregnancy & Parenting Anyone with an overweight child? Jan 24 2008

I was a fairly overweight child. At 17 and 5' 5" I had a shock when I was weighed at a doctor's appt and found I was 190 lbs. I am shy and introverted by nature and I think my reluctance to connect with people was compounded by my appearance and body image.  I didn't date until I was 18 and my choice in boyfriend reflected how I thought of myself, meaning that I chose a person that was very bad for me and I allowed him to treat me horribly. My turning point came when that relationship ended. Free from his shackles and longing to be finally free of my own I developed an interest in nutrition and health sciences. So, at 20 I finally found myself at a healthy weight of 130lbs and finally breaking free of my shell and self imposed loneliness.

I'm a mother now as well and I'm very much concerned for my daughter's health, both physical and emotional. I had a terrible and lonely childhood. I know that our family legacy is very round apple shaped women. So, I am doing the best I can by her to stop the cycle before it starts. I think it is a slippery slope, though. Teaching them to be healthy without overstressing it and teaching them to be obsessive and/or shallow.

I'm sorry to hear that your ex is presenting problems. Men seem to have totally different views on weight and health sometimes, especially in their sons.  Good luck to you and your son.
