Did you find a buddy yet? I would be willing, but I am 10 years older than you. If you don't mind that then I would be happy for some extra motivation as well.:)

You could try PB2..it's almost the same as peanut butter but without all the calories from the peanut oil. It comes as a powder and you add water. I really like it. You can also get chocolate PB2...similar to chocolate peanut butter. Google it! :)

It can also help to be accountable to someone. I have the same problem ...although I have BED and it's linked t my stress level. Right now I am under a lot of stress and last night was awful (ate about 2000 calories over my intake). If you would like to keep each other accountable we can.

Hi everyone, again. I had a rough night tonight. FInals are coming up, and I am doing poorly in 2 classes. This is causing major stress for me, because if I don't pass I will be held back a year. Subsequently I binged tonight and accumulated several thousand excess calories today. Hoping to start fresh tomorrow. I hopee everyone else is doing well!

Hi, i'm 24 5' 3", last time I weighed myself I was around 190...and have been too scared to weigh myself since! I was down to 115 lbs. 3 years ago, but developed binge eating disorder which got me back here. I am trying to cut out white flour products and stick to more fruits, veggies, lean proteins. I am alos trying to just stop binging and become emotionally healthy. Luckily, if I don't buy "binge" food it is much easier for me to stop, so I am doing ok...so far.

Right now I am a size 16 jeans (I am a definite pear shape). My goal is to get to a size 10 by the time of my friends wedding in August. I am planning on incorporating exercise as soon as school gets out for the summer. Anyways, that's my story, good luck everyone!

Foods What would your last meal be? Oct 12 2008

I feel like all of my food choices together are a weird mix, but I would try to eat:

A Frisco Melt from Steak and Shake (maybe 2)

A white sheet cake with extra butter cream frosting

Cake Batter Ice Cream with extra sprinkles in a sprinkle covered waffle cone

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Pumpkin Pie

Pecan Pie

Rice Pudding

Granola with extra raisins and Soy Milk

Some sort of Iced Coffee drink with whipped cream

Diet Coke

Seeing as I have type 1 Diabetes, I would probably pass out in a sugar coma before they got me with the lethal injection, that is if I didn't explode first! :)

I hate how some things are region specific! I cannot find Diet vanilla coke anywhere!!! I miss a certain type of House brand tofu. It was a small, brownish brick that came vaccumm packed. It had about 200 calories and it was really delicious. I cannot find it anywhere, not even the website, grr!!!! If anyone knows where I can find it I would really appreciate it!!!

As for McDonald's Pizza, I have seen it in several European countries/airports, so if you are travelling maybe you can get your fix?!?!

I have done the same thing. I lost 55 pounds, and gained back 45-50 of it. I went through a 6 month struggle with binge/emotional eating. Now none of my clothes fit, and I feel terrible about myself. I am trying to lose weight, but it is hard. It seems like I lost all of my self control when I gained the weight back. You are definitely not alone, in this. I wish I had some advice, but I am struggling with the same thing. Embarassed

Young Calorie Counters What do I do with my daughter's binge eating? Jun 11 2008

I do not think it is a matter of her just wanting to eat sweets. Binge eating like this, and then hiding the evidence is indicative of a deeper emotional issue. She is obviously aware that what she is doing is wrong, and is trying to hide the evidence.

I have been struggling with the same problem for the past 6 months. Sadly, I have gained 26 pounds in the process. I am meeting with a psychiatrist on thursday. Hopefully I can get through this. Please don't wait until this gets out of hand, it is a terrible thing to go through.

Foods Diabetic chocolate? May 28 2008

All of the sugar free chocolates I know of have Splenda or some other fake sugar. Since you can have fruit maybe you could have things sweetened with fructose?  I think there are cookies made with fructose but I am not sure of the taste or quality. I hope you find something. I am also attempting to conquer a binge eating disorder. Good Luck!

I would like to know this too! I think the main problem is the crust, because the makers probably use lard or some other such nutritional nonsense in it. The gravy is also probably a challenge. I guess what might be easiest would be to find some sort of fat free/low fat gravy to mix with the veggies and chicken, and only use the bottom of the pie shell. Depending on where you live there might be more expensive/low calorie alternatives for the gravy and crust, or maybe crust is just high calorie no matter what. Hmm.

Weight Loss How long have YOU been on a diet/watching your weight? May 14 2008

I was always obese/overweight growing up. No one told me that I was fat, so I didn't realize I was until 5th grade. Now when I look at my childhood pictures I wish my parents would have made me be healthier. I started feeling fat in the 5th grade and have been dieting ever since. Two years ago I lost 55 lbs. When I tried to eat normally I slowly regained 10 lbs. Then I began feeding my emotions, got stuck in binge eating mode and added on another 20 lbs. After therapy I am doing much better with binges, but I still wish I looked good in my old clothes, swim suits, etc. I guess to me being thin is too important. When I lost weight I felt like I had actually done something worthy of respect and I was proud of it, then I messed it up so I feel worthless again. I know I have issues with weight, I am trying to do better, just sharing.

Foods Yummy food?! May 12 2008

Hmmm...

Breakfast: Oatmeal with splenda and  soy milk +  1 egg omlette with 1 lite laughing cow swiss cheese. = 310

Snack: Fiber 1 Oat and Peanut Butter Bar = 150

Lunch: Tofu and vegetables boiled in spicy broth, Sugar free Ice cream cone = 325

Snack: Baby Carrots = 35

Dinner: Baked Salmon with green beans, lite wheat toast and sugar free pudding =  300

Snack: Tea with Splenda = 50

Total= 1170 calories, I would probably throw in an apple or something to reach 1200 calories for the day.

If I could eat whatever I wanted:

Breakfast: 5 Huge Pancakes with Sugar free Syrup = 600

Snack: Fiber 1 Oat and Peanut Butter Bar = 150

Lunch: Turkey and Swiss Panini with grilled vegetables = 750

Snack: Sugar Free Ice Cream = 110

Dinner: 3 Pieces of Supreme Stuffed Crust Pizza, 2 breadsticks with Marinara Sauce and Sugar Free Ice Cream = 1500???

Snack: Chocolate Chip Cookies and Milk= 300

Total: 3500???

I never eat most of these things, but sometimes I see other people enjoying them and wish I could.

Weight Loss Workout DVDs? May 08 2008
11:44 (UTC)
14

Hi, I have a small collection of workout DVD's and switch them up if/when I get bored. My favorites are:

1. The Leslie Sansone Walk at Home Series- I use these as more of a "relaxed" workout, although they do make me sweat and work. ($10-$20 each)

2. Tae Bo- I use this one to motivate me and give me a quick burst of confidence. ($10)

3. Turbo Jam- Really fun and challenging! My mom bought it but I have used it more than she has. The only bad part of this one for me is the cost. My mom bought it off the tv and it was $80.00 (6 workouts and hand weights). I found it on Ebay starting at as little as $3.00 for the cardio workout, which is the one I use the most.

4. Prevention Walking Workout: Light workout, about 15- 20 minutes for each workout. I got this free, not sure of the cost.

5. Prevention Drop it with Dance: Fun, but it doesn't make me work very hard. If you get bored some evening you could do it for fun, it doesn't seem like a workout at all. ($10)

I hope this is a little helpful. They can all be ordered off the internet. :)

Weight Loss Trying to eat normally... May 07 2008
11:29 (UTC)

Hi, as a student escaping a binge disorder myself, here is how I cope with eating, school, etc. Like you I eat a big breakfast (Usually oatmeal, and a 1 egg omelet with laughing cow cheese), pack my lunch and take additional snacks. I used to eat them all very quickly by the time I got to school because I would get "hungry". After I started seeing a therapist I realized that sometimes I just wanted to eat, so instead I would drink something or write in a journal (yeah, during class when I should have been listening to the discussion :). My snacks were usually baby carrots, apples, peanut butter, or a combo of those. After I re learned when I was hungry I also began eating what I really wanted. For instance sometimes I would have a low calorie smoothie from the union, and save my snacks for later in the day. I also found that exercising helps curb my desire to eat, so I usually go for walks after I eat my lunch, or if I am not hungry. I find if I exercise early in the day I don't get hungry later on. Maybe it is just me, but you could experiment with it when school is over for the year. Just remember you are not alone, and you can do this! :) Good Luck!!!
