STATS Start Wt: 193 Week 1: 191.5 CW:192.5 GW: 175 HT: 5'7" Measurements Chest : 1st: 38.25 2nd: 37.75 Natural Waist: 1st: 36.25 2nd: 34.25 Hips: 1st: 43 2nd: 42.75 Biceps: 1st: R 14; L 14.25 2nd: R 14; L 14 Thighs: 1st: R 24.25; L 24 2nd: R 24.5; L 24.5 Today's Motivation: take it day by day =) Plan: Get a good stretch in, walk my puppy I finally have been getting the exercise in I want. Yesterday I did a 3 mile jog with a little jogging, and it really felt good!! I am proud to be doing 3 miles, when you have a lot of extra weight it can be a bit tough to jog. The thing I need to improve on is my eating habits, they are still really bad. I hope everyone has a great day!!! |

I forgot to weigh my self and to post on Wednesday (my friend was in town for the week), So I decided to do it today, sorry for the delay. I am not surprised I am only down a bit, since I have not really been so strict on myself. STATS Start Wt: 193 CW: 191.5 GW: 175 ( I like small steps, this is my first goal wt) HT: 5'7" BMI: 30.2 **Edit** I had a great work out today, I was able to do a 10 min jog then a 25 min walk run for about 3.15 miles. not too bad for just trying to get back into it! Blah...I just am having troubles getting in the grove. I have been walking my puppy every day, and sometimes twice. But I really am not feeling the motivation to run, which is what I need to do to really drop the weight. I think I will get it in today, and get my start off right. As for eating, I have been watching what I consume, so we will see on Wed what happened. I rarely weigh myself, so I will only check about once to twice a week....I probably should check more often, haha! Talk to you all soon, Have a great day ladies.

So I'm sad to say that I did not get my walk run in yesterday and most likely today....blah! It was raining all day yesterday and pouring today! And I am working 13 hour days so that causes some issues with time. But I will try to get it in tomorrow. I hope everyone is having a good day!! |

Usually closed group means that they have all the numbers they can handle, its a way of keeping the number of people in the group low. I am going to start another thread for us all if that is okay and then we can get started on this....I hope that is okay with every one, I thought I would help =) I will repost here where to go and what the name of it will be. Lets do a weigh in today or tomorrow, and do measurements for the first time also. Want to make weigh-ins on Wednesday from now on...hump day? This way we can keep motivated for the rest of the week. I will befriend the others that just joined (Welcome!!!) and list everyone that has joined in the next thread =) I'll let ya all know....READY TO GET STARTED??? |

Can I join? I would love to get back on track, I have used this site on and off for over a year now and no matter what when I do use it I lose weight, because I am not alone. I have only lead one forum before, but I can help if you would like. Here is what we posted. Current Weight (CW) Goal Weight (GW), Height (H), BMI. We also posted measurements which helped with the motivation, because you may not see the scale move but may see a change in your size over all. When we did those we did: arms (middle of the belly of the bicep), chest (below breasts), natural waist, hips, and god help me thighs (biggest part of the thigh). The one issue I had with this was I did not make the time to do this every week, but that is up to you if you want to do it every week or every other week. Also maybe do weigh-ins twice a week? And if you keep the group small people do not get lost in all the messages. That is all up to you. If you want we can start another forum and have a clean slate to start on and list our measurements... Any thoughts? I am not sure of another way to do a group. We could all befriend each other too?? Hi All, I didn't know if I could jump in on your challenge a bit late? I need some motivation to get me going. I took a month hiatus from running and just started up yesterday again, I was able to pound out a 20 min jog....really slow miles, but I did it. After finding this forum, I think I would rather start up this way, since my body is hating me today, it's sad to say I actually miss being this sore....I have to remember that for the future. Basically I would like to drop about 15- 20#'s and get in shape. I hope everyone is having a good day!!

I have done better this week, and I def have worked out more...another 5k accomplished today! 1/14: 187 1/17: 188.5 1/21: 188 1/24: 185.2 1/28: 182.7 (I'll take it!) My body is finally getting it! Ladies! Just think what your Goal was in the beginning! Do you still want that?! I know I do! WE CAN DO THIS! Small changes are actually big ones! Only a little over 2 weeks left! Push yourself a little, trust yourself and what you know you can do....stick with your plan! |

What are everyone's plans for this weekend? You would think I have something fun planned but I do not, I am working each day...but do not feel too bad for me, I am only going in for 4 hours each day and I plan on hitting my goal on Sunday and work out for the 5th time (yesterday I was able to complete a 5k run on my own, the first time in months, I have been to out of shape to do it before now). I wish I had something fun and exciting to put down...does anyone else? Have a great weekend!! Talk to you all Monday |

1/21 - 188 1/24 - 185.2 A little better! Ladies I have actually read through out different forums that people did not see actual results of what they have changed until about week 3...SO KEEP UP THE HOPE! We can all do this!! My goal of doing cardio 5 days this week is going well, today was day number 3. Only 2 left before Monday. |

Say drinking more water, different and better nutrition, and added more exercise? and are you eating enough calories to take care of working-out and everyday living? These changes can cause the increase in your weight, but they should even out over the next week or so. Keep going! We all may not lose 10 pounds, but the weeks leading up to V-Day will help us all have better habits!! |

I kick started my plan about 2 weeks ago. I would suggest eating as much fresh fruit and veggies as you desire. This should overall help the cravings with sweets etc. Know that it takes about 2-4 weeks to make anything a habit, and to forget that you want sweets. If you want to do Slim-fast, maybe you should only do one replacement meal a day instead of 2 until your body gets use to the change, cold turkey does not work well with the body and what it wants =). This will ensure you are getting the amount of Calories you need a day. You said that you calculated that you need around 1900 calories a day, if this is the case what have you been trying to consume? You should only have about a 500 cal def between what you eat and what you burn a day, this will help you lose about a pound a week (which is really healthy). Also just a change in What your eating will help so much. I would say have 3 main meals and about 2 snacks a day...making those healthy snacks like 100 cal popcorn, fruit, yogurt. etc.... Hi I'm Carrie, I think it would be great to have a motivation buddy! I am also going on a girls get away weekend...in Florida or Hawaii some time in either May or June. I would love to lose around 25 pounds by then. I actually started a forum for a bunch of us to lose 10 by Valentines day.....basically to get us moving over 5 weeks. To be honest I know that I will not loose 10 pounds by then, but maybe 5. I have recently just changed my diet up and my workout. Overall, I am trying to be as nutritious as I can, physically log what I eat, and workout between 3-6 days a week. A bit about me: I'm 27 and live in New Jersey. I tend to look smaller than I really am, most people may guess that I weigh around 160, where in truth I am 188, almost 30 pounds more that that. I basically want to get my weight down to around 165-170. I like to think I have a ton of muscle under there, which I do, but I also have the fat that I would like to come off. Let me know what you think and if I fit the type of person you want to get motivation/give motivation to. I know I tend to do better when I have someone to report to other than myself. |

Checking in: Last week: 188.5 Today: 188 So I am down a half a pound, but all weekend I went up and down and my lowest was 187. So I am hoping this week will be the turn around and thing will start going my way. My goal is to work out 5 days this week....I have one done already 4 to go. As for Measurements, I figured we would only do them 2 times total, once in the beginning and second on our last day, otherwise you will not see any results. As for today.....Weigh-in day.... 1/14: 187 1/17: 188.5 Yep I am up, but the funny thing is I know I have been working hard and eating right, so hopefully next week I will see some changes. I have been doing strength training with my cardio (which I haven't done since college...about 6 years ago) so that may be upping my weight right now. I hope everyone has a great Thursday! |
