| Noe, if there is extra skin (not fat) I don't think there is really anything we can do. I am going to go the route of losing all the weight I want THEN toning, but as this is my first baby I have no idea if it will work. How old is your baby? Mine is almost 5 months old and I STILL have not lost all of the weight I gained. I have been trying to lose the last 4 lbs og pg weight for 3.5 months, then I have 27-30 more to lose...grrr | |||

| If you ran 8.5 you still probably didn't eat enough. The only thing I see wrong here is that there is practically no real food. No veggies, meat(unless you are vegetarian) or fruit. Think about it this way, btwn the running and just existing you burned on average, 2263 calories, you only consumed 1849...your deficit is still 414. If you are eating way less than that normally, say 1200 cals, and still running like that, you are eating way too little. That puts you at a deficit of over 1,000 cals which is NOT good. | |||

Eating an abnormally large amount of food within a certain amount of time. This is usually accompanied by a feeling of lack of control over eating A binge occurs when the food addict consumes a greater than average amount of food in a specific amount of time. (Greater than average will vary from person to person). Binge foods often have a high caloric content, high sugar, and/or high starches. Binge eating is a pattern of disordered eating which consists of episodes of uncontrollable overeating. It is sometimes as a symptom of binge eating disorder. During such binges, a person rapidly consumes an excessive amount of food. These are definitions I pulled off the web. They seem to be right on to me.

| I figured mine out too...if I crave something, but have none of what I crave, I will binge, and if I buy the item while in binge mode, I will binge on that. Example-The other day I had been craving sweets but we had nothing sweet in the house SO I ate everything else we had from popcorn to tv dinners, to a box of mac n cheese and half a pkg of hotdogs, and more! Then when I bought cookies to try and stop it I ate a dozen choc chip (pretty big cookies too-not like chips ahoy)cookies in one sitting. So I guess the plan is to buy things I usually crave then divide them into srevings | |||

I get upset when people say they binged when they only ate an extra couple hundred cals, still putting them at maintenance, however, because I DO have a binge eatting disorder, where I will eat non-stop, cookies(a full pack)a bag of candy, box of mac n cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, ramen, burritos, hotdogs, grilled cheese and tomato soup, hotdogs, and chips ON TOP of what I would normally eat, all in 1 day. I am trying to be healthy by doing my best to stop binging like this. I don't get upset if I INDULDGE just when I really BINGE...some of us know the difference, but there are too many on here who do not. ETA I am agreeing with you |

| I just crunched your numbers, in order to maintain at a sedentary level you should consume 2081 calories, to lose about 2 lbs a week you should consume NO LESS than 1330 calories AFTER calories burned with exercise. Hope that helps, I just thought to do that math...lol...now I am going to do it for me...Wow apparently I should be consuming 1991 to maintain and no less than 1241 after exercise, glad I did that, it means I have to aim for closer to 1800-2000 cals before working out, holy moly, that is going to be tough...GOOD LUCK!! | |||

| My brother (who is usually very sweet to me) told me about a month after I had my baby (after I got done saying I was at my pre pregnancy weight but still wanted to lose 35 lbs) that I looked "shorter and fatter" than right after I had the baby. I was like, "uuummm like you should be talking" he just goes "I am going through puberty, I am supposed to get bigger" lol BTW my son is now going on 5 months old and I still have 32 lbs to lose | |||
| Weight Loss | 1,200 apparently?? | Dec 07 2007 20:13 (UTC) |

| You should have 1200 AFTER burning...so if you burn 800 cals you should consume 2000...from what I understand | |||

Kuhari, I hear ya. There are plenty of days I eat breakfast lunch and dinner and 3 snacks and it only comes out to 900 cals or less, but I am stuffed. What I am going to start doing once I get back on track (I was not in the right frame of mind when I went grocery shopping so it is all junk) I am thinking it will be good in the long run though bc I unknowingly have eatten less than 1200 cals for years(on noral eatting days-bad ones I eat 1000 cals by noon)therefore inadvertanly most likely went into starvation mode so now when I get back on track I will lose weight bc of the 2 weeks eatting so much more. It made more sense in my head lol Adding a slice of bread to breakfast (or english muffin) -80-100 cals Adding a slice of cheese to my tuna sandwich -100 cals Using EVOO instead of pam to cook my veggies and chicken-aprox 100 cals(i think) drinking an extra glass of milk-approx 100 cals This would put me btwn 1000 and 1300, most often 1200-1300 |

I am all for teens trying to be healthy and whatnot, but I am not for teens, or anyone, obsessing. You ate a piece of cheesecake you didn't plan on, oh well, put it into your calories for the day and get over it. Everything is ok in moderation. I never looked at calories as a teen, I used to say that if it wasn't full fat it wasn't full flavored. I have always loved to cook and one of my fav sayings is that you can't trust a skinny cook. Anyway, to teenagers and older people alike, we are all trying to be healthy and it is not healthy to obsess. I am not saying don't calorie count, I am just saying if you go over, too bad, get over it. Now if you are (like me and others on this board) a person who truly binges I can understand being upset about it. I can also understand being a little hard on yourself for falling off the wagon. (I can barely see the wagon I am so far off right now) I just can't understand why people get upset over an extra couple hundred calories, chances are you burned them without knowing anyway. Ok time for me to go to bed now, sorry if this doesn't make any sense. BTW I am only 22 and very new to dieting so this is def all my opinion nothing more |

| The least you should be consuming is 1200, you should use the calorie needs calculator on this site, you should be eatting 300-500 less than your maintenance calories if you are trying to lose weight. What you are eatting now is not healthy. I understand that sometimes it is hard to get in all of the calories but you should be getting them all in the majority of the time. | |||

I do not suggest going under 1200 cals. An example of my menu which I did for 2.5 weeks and lost 9 lbs. I am having a hard time doing it now though because I was in a binge frame of mind when I went grocery shopping so all I have is Mac n cheese, cookies, ramen, and other junk like that, luckily I am going grocery shopping next week. Breakfast:3 egg whites, green pepper strips, cheese and crackers Snack:Cucumber slices Lunch:1/2 tuna sandwich with bowl of chicken broth Snack:Green peppers Dinner: Chicken, broccoli, and rice snack:fruit smoothie When I was doing this I was never hungry and it really was helping to lose weight. I also did 30 mins of exercise a day. Usually not all at once because my son wouldn't let me(he is a small baby) but I did it none the less. I hope this helps, like I, and many other have said, you should not try to be below 1200 calories. |

| Weight Loss | Are you going to "diet" on Christmas Day? | Dec 06 2007 18:59 (UTC) |

| I am having a hard time with this whole season because I am so used to hot cocoa, cookies, thick stews, mashed potatoes with gravy, and heavy meals. My whole life the time from Thanksgiving up until New Years has been a time where there is no dieting, and no watching what you eat. I may go with that this year for the most part. Not cancelling anything out, but also working out, or eatting less of everything to still be at AT LEAST maintenance, then go back to the lighter foods and whatnot after new years. I lose weight relatively quickly when I am on track, so I am not going to worry about a month or so on maintenance calories. | |||

Recipe here, and it IS sweet! 1-2 packet sugar free jello(any brand) 2 containers cool whip(not the stuff in the can) 1 graham cracker pie crust Mix the cool whip and jello then put in pie crust cool in fridge It is super sweet and totals out to around 250 calories. That may be a lot for your calorie needs, I don't know, but to me it is worth it. If you make it with 2 jello packets it is so sweet you can only eat 1 piece |

| I am doing good today. I did not eat all that healthy but I have eatten all of my meals and I am only at 967 calories for the day. Well a little more because I ate 2 hershey's kisses. Don't give me credit on not binging on those though, I would have eatten more if I had more, sad but true. I had steak and eggs and cinnamon apples for breakfast, mac n cheese for lunch, and ramen for dinner. I am looking for something else to eat so I can get up to 1200 but I can't find anything that doesn't need to be thawed out and is under 400 calories. | |||

| I don't think I have any trigger foods. When I binge I rarely eat just 1 thing. I will eat ramen, a bag of chips, apples, cheese and crackers, pizza, mac n cheese, cookies, dinner, icecream etc all in 1 binge, and very often in a matter of an hour or 2, usually of all that I only plan to eat dinner. I do not restrict my diet as far as certain foods go. Some weeks I am a health nut, others I just want junk. It isn't healthy but I add it into my caloric intake and unless it is a binge, I don't go over 1500 cals on a bad day, on "good" days I have a hard time reaching 1000 though, even if I eat 6 meals a day, its weird. | |||

Hi there! I am 5'7" tall, I weigh 148 now and my goal weight is to be 115. I would like to stop binging too. I like the idea of coming on here when we feel a binge coming on, but there are times when I don't feel it coming on. I will be cleaning the kitchen and before I know it I have eatten my daily allowance all in one sitting, usually even more, even though I had never planned on eatting. A couple weeks ago I got to my goal weight for Dec 30th which was 140 lbs, and now I am back up to 148, all after just a weekend of eatting. Also it seems never to even out because on my binge days I end up feeling like complete crap so I won't work out that evening, or the next morning. This is a great challenge, thank you for starting it! |

HEY TEAM! This week's mini challenge-do something else. What I mean by this is to simply cut 15-30 mins out of your computer and/or tv time and do something else. Clean you room/house, play with your kids, take your dog for a walk, read...WHATEVER. It doesn't matter what it is, just do something other than sit at the computer or in front of the tv. araiye Could you please e-mail me with your stats so far? This is the last time I will ask you to do so, I had all of your stats down but my computer was screwy so I lost everything. Also if you have any ideas for a team name. Thank you in advance |

Apple juice, prune juice, pear juice, these are what I was told for my son, although he is 4 months, but I think it would still work. I was also told that there is a fine line btwn having enough to make you poo and too much where you are constipated. Also I heard lemon juice and apple cider vinegar is a diaretic, but it has only been 3 days so I don't think you have to go to that extreme |
