Didn't lose much this week but hey I'm happy if it stays off!  And 6 lb for the 3 weeks, I'm not complaining, after nothing for 3 months!  Again the weekends kill me on friday after doing so good I'm 201 by Monday I'll be 203 again and work all week to get that 2 lbs back off.  And it's not like I binge or anything either, I just don't work out those 3 days, fri, sat, sun.  Guess that should be my goal work out atleast one of those days!  Good Luck everyone!

I know how you feel, I too messed  up my metabolisim sorry can't spell, but wanted to let you know there is a light at the end of the tunnel, it took me 3 months of working out 5 times a week and watching what I eat, and logging what I eat, to finally make the scale move!!!!  So I'm just warning you it could be along haul, but eventually you body will give in!!! And just so you know 10/25/07 was 207, finnally on 1/28/08 finnally hit around 203!  1400 cal a day and working out, but hopefully I'm on a roll now!!!

Hey all thanks for some motivation.  And yes I have had all the blood work imaginable.  Taking one day at a time, and going to beat this thing one way or another.  Working out alittle more each week.  Hope everyone had a great day.  During the week is easy for me it's the weekends that kill me.

Hello all, I too am 42 and oh no soon to be 43 in Feb.  And would love to see under 200 by then, I'm some where inbetween 207 and 201.  Things have been crazy I work out 4 days  week and eat 1400 calories  day and still can't seem lose.  I went down 5 lbs 1st two weeks and now it creeping right back, up and down every other day.  It's driving me crazy.  I log everything and I mean everything being honest for the first time in my life and want to kill someone whenI read they have a hard time eating all those calories!!!!!  I have a hard time not going over those damn calories!!!!  Best of luck and and let's all keep informed, it does help...Andrea

Trust me I know where you're at, but you must log everything, and I mean everything to really see what is going on, for atleast 2 weeks.  And like I said I know how you feel I hit a plautea after losing some weight and it lasted 3 months, but when I got serious and honest and logged every bite, every condiment I realized how much  I really was eating and then subtracted all the work out burn figures divided by 3500 cal for losing 1 lb and I came out right on.  If we eat less thqan we burn you will lose!!!!  it's alot of work and  pain in the ass but it really does work!

Did you try adding things with it?  I add chicken breast, or steak, tomatoes, carrots raw, cucumber, and yes sometimes avocado and can't forget my soy sauce.  I love it.  Some things take time to get use to, but your tastes will change as you start eating healthier!!!!

Weight Loss 40+ Always been overweight and time to change! Jan 23 2008
20:25 (UTC)

Well I'm trying and I do say trying to stay at 1400 calories a week.  But after actually recording everything for the last 15 days and spending almost two hours figuring everything out.  I really am right on track for what they say.  I calculated up all the calories I consumed for the 15 days, subtracted all the burned calories from the burn meter each day.  Then divided what was left by the 3500 calories needed to lose 1 lb and came out with I should have lost 3.47 lbs and I lost 3.2 lbs.  So after all my complaining, I guess this thing really is working, it's just alot of work!  Congrats to you both on the quitting smoking, I couldn't imagine how hard that must be.  Like me giving up chocolate, with being a chocoholic all my life I guess and knowing I could never touch it again would kill me.  Keep up the good work and I know we will all be lighter next year which should be our goal. Realistic is my goal this year my doctor said be happy with 1/2 lb a week.

Okay a few great 100 cal treats I have found and one's to forget!  100 cal popcorn packs, they come in kettle corn sweet and salty!  And butter and better than that dry no flaver air pop stuff!  Also found 100 cal packs of rice cakes drizzled with chocolate very good and you get alot for 100 cal.  Then there is other rice cakes that you can drizzle chocolate on and still be under 100 cal or spread peanut butter on them or lowfat yogurt and be under 100 cal too.  I alway eat an apple first then make myself wait an hour before I eat anything else.  Forget the fudge strip cookies, there's only like 7 in the pack!  same with the 100 cal granola bars, they are about 3 inches long and 1/2 inch wide.  Hope this helps someone out there it's been helping me survive the 1400 cal diet!
Weight Loss Has anyone tried Alli? Jan 20 2008

I was looking into it and found that proactol actually blocks more fat than alli and is suppose to not have the leaking problem that alli gives you.  I had been on meridian before and it gave you lots of diary and the discharge also.  I have been on the proactol now for 2 weeks and it has been working great.  With my dieting and exercising with the proactol I lost 4.5 lbs first week and at like 2 + in 3 days into week 2.  It's suppose to block 28% of the fat you eat.  And from my experience you pee it out not diary!!!!!
Foods Can you eat Sushi on a Diet ?? Jan 19 2008

When I decided to start eating better, I discovered sushi, although some won't call california and veggie rolls sushi.  I have learned like others say buy a rice cooker, and you can make your own with brown rice a healther choice, and lots of time i just through all the things i like together and don't bother rolling them, that takes a science and a higher calorie rice to do.  If eating out, lots of places are starting to carry brown rice sushi you just have to ask!!!!  And I eat sushi every other day atleast!  And I'm losing!!!!

Seems we have quite a bit in common, my youngest just turned 7 and my oldest is 22 the other is 20.  At my highest in 04 I hit 235, had gastric by pass and almost died the next day.  I lost a whole 15 lbs in the next year after the surgury and did everything right!  Ate healthy exercised, my body just went into starvation mode and hasn't come out.  Since then I went back up to 225.  In Feb of 06 had the heart attack and scared the **** out of me.  So my wake up call and as of this morning down to 202.8.  Was stuck at 207 for over 2 months with working out and eating right, but not logging, this site has helped me with that.  I did the kevin trudeau thing back in Sept which got me down to the 207 but don't think it was the healthest so trying the good old fashion way here!  Take care and thanks for sharing, one of my other new years resolutions.  My business partner says I don't share well....lol

I had been told cocounut oil was actually the best to fry and cook with, and since I don't like cocounut I figured great another thing I wouldn't like, but after using it, it's amazing the food really tastes good and I even fried my potatoes in this morning for breakfast and no one could tell the difference!!!!

Motivation Why am I hungry? Jan 09 2008

Boy do I know how you feel.  I too am hungry.  But when i really sat down and thought about it, I never remember not being hungry.  I am hungry all day everyday, and it's not a good feeling.  One thing that I read recently and have been trying is too eat the right calories if I'm gonna blow it.  It's easy to consume an extra 1000 or so calories in less than 1 minute when your hungry so reach for something low in calories.  I don't like eating the way that I am, but I've accepted that I have to!  So instead of grabbing a swiss roll when I'm hungry 5 minutes after finishing eating, I grab an apple.  They say try to eat 1000 calories from apples, the most I have ever been able to eat is 1 and half apples a mere 90 calories per apple, compared to 400 in 2 poptarts!!! When we all know I could eat 4 if not the whole box.  I hope this helps, they also gave a recipe for a pudding mix where you could eat the whole 4 servings and still be under 200 calories, so look for some things you can tollerate to eat that are as low in calories as possible and eat as much as you want.  And you won't have to feel guilty about eating and being hungry.  I'm also not a tea drinker, but hey I tried that stuff called stevia and I can actually tolerate it, I have like 6 cups a day now, no or very few calories and let's me feel like I'm eating all day, gives my hands something to do!

Hello there, it seams we are kinda both in the same boat, and I was looking for someone else to team up with and was wondering if your interested.  I have been eating right for quite awhile now and started at 225, I'm now down to 207, but need some more motivation to get down below the 200 mark.  So I thought maybe we could email and get each of us alittle more motivated.  Andrea  Oh year hit the big 40 couple years ago too!!!

Just wanted to let you know, I am now on phase 2 of the weight loss cure and doing very well.  Although I have not lost 1 lb a day, and after reading many others comments, my weight loss as with many others was 1/2 lb per day, which is still great.  And trust me before this I have tried everything even gastric bypass surgery!!!!
