Hi! I'm 26 and have about 20 lbs to lose. I gained too much during pregnancy, and was a little heavier than I'd like to be even before I got preggo.

I've been going to the gym 3 times a week for the past month and somehow I gained about 5 lbs.... :( so I'm at 155 now and would love to be 135.

My eating habits are what's to blame I think. I'm just so hungry all the time, I don't understand it! This week I'm trying to eat less junk (cookies and tortilla chips are probably the worst) and drink a little less... I started having a few drinks a week when I weaned my son... hmm maybe that's how I gained the weight!

Drinking more water is a great goal. I was really good about that when pregnant and I'm trying to drink lots again. It's supposed to help with cravings too- since sometimes when you feel hungry you're really just thirsty.

I LOVE veggies, adn hubby is a vegetarian so we eat them with almost every meal.

You can start adding them to just about anything I think (pasta sauce with zucchini, mushrooms and broccoli, chili with carrots, onion, and mushrooms, pizza with sliced tomatoes, spinach and bell peppers, mac and cheese with peas and carrots, scrambled eggs with onion zucchini mushroom asparagus spinach and salsa...) tastiest is fresh, but easiest is frozen. put them in a pan with a little cooking spray and cook until tender (if doing fresh, cook the hardest veggies a little longer- like carrots, onions, cauliflower, potatoes, broccoli) then add them to whatever you want.

if you're doing frozen, you can also just pop them in the microwave. I like mixed vegetables with some italian salad dressing or some kind of vinnaigrette for a really quick light veggie side.

spices and sauces go a long way.... i really suggest browsing recipes online to get the hang of what spices go with what dishes. if you like indian food, they use veggies in just about everything. or you can browse vegetarian recipes.

I confess that I went to the doctor and at 29 weeks i've already gained about 35-40 lbs and it took everything in me not to cry in the examining room while i was waiting for the doctor. At this rate I'll gain a good 65-70 lbs by the end!!

I confess that even though my weight gain is bothering me so much, I'm still giving into cravings and not exercising... bleh. This is actually why I'm on here... to start logging my food so I won't gain any more.


I confess that I couldn't sleep last night because I'm freaked out living alone right now.

My pants were tight at about 14 weeks i think. It grew steadily since then. I'm 20 weeks now and i definitely look pregnant. i started off a little overweight (145-150 at 5'4") and big babies run in my family so that might all be part of it.

i like to google pictures of pregnant bellies sometimes, and i've seen pictures of flat stomachs at 5 months, so it really just depends on the woman i think. :)

oh man these are terrible. i had the worst one i've ever had two weeks ago.. totally freaked me out when i started peeing blood clots. i think it was from sex with my boyfriend who came down to visit the weekend before i started having symptoms... it sucks that there are so many bad consequences to something that feels so good... lol. i used to be prone to yeast infections too, but i've got that pretty much under control now.

 somebody said something about dehydration... that also means you should avoid caffeine, since it causes dehydration. (just thought i'd throw that out there.. i was drinking more coffee than usual too)
