Motivation 1400-1800 cal/day partner anyone?? Jun 29 2009

I may be interested....I'm 5'8" and am looking to lose between 20-30 lbs. My calorie target right now is 1700 calories.  What is the 1400-1800 plan you are talking about? Is it 1400 one day, 1800 the next and so on?

I've found that walking/running on an incline treadmill really leaves me sore right where you want a lift....I don't get sore there from anything else. Hope this works for you.

7 things i like about myself:

  1. My skin/complexion
  2. My smile (that's what attracted my husband)
  3. My hair
  4. My hands (strangely people compliment me too)
  5. My feet (again, compliments....very strange, i wear a 10)
  6. My genuine care for other people
  7. My drive and contagiousness when I want to do something! :)
Fitness Gym membership or elliptical at home? Jan 08 2008

Unfortunately both choices depend solely on you. If you are committed and have a busy schedule, I'd go with the elliptical. I've had a treadmill for several years. When I was thoroughly committed, I used it almost daily. When I was struggling with exercise, I didn't use it. I've also had gym memberships in the past. The same goes with the gym. You'll either do it, or you won't! :) I love having machines at home (I also have a pilates machine), it allows me to work out ANY TIME!!!!!

Hope this helps! :)

almost exact same situation as you megan44. i'm 27, will be 28 in march and i weigh 164. i always weighed about 140ish through college but when i was pregnant i gained 50 lbs! after that i've fluctuated between 155-178. i really want to get down to 150 by my birthday in march! i started running (using that post on the cc website that teaches you how to run week by week). i was doing great before christmas, i lost nearly 17 lbs! now i'm struggling to eat right again.

got to make it happen!! :)

Weight Loss Holy Crap! I gained 10 pounds in 12 days! Jan 03 2008

I only gained about 1.5-2 lbs too! I can't believe it. I ate tons of food over Christmas. Maybe it's just not as much as I was eating before?? I see now that it could have been a lot worse.

Problem is, I'm having a very hard time getting back to eating right. From October to December 19th I was doing very well. I lost 10 lbs (since August, 17lbs). But now I can feel I don't have the drive to keep going like I did! NOW WHAT!?!?! I was so proud of myself for sticking to it. How do I get that spark back!?!?

Anyone else with this problem?

With just a little over a week to go until Christmas, and 5 "get-togethers" to go to + a classful of children bringing me sweet treats, I feel like my goal should almost be to maintain my weight. I really don't want to feel like that, but I know I'll be happy if I can just stay where I am.

Does anyone else feel this way, or should I be stepping it up a notch during this week. Maybe with my workouts, so that these sweet treats won't sabotage my weight loss! ?????? Any thoughts?

Good news is I've already been to several Christmas events and haven't gained any weight. I think since joining this site, my overeating is MUCH MUCH less than what my overeating used to be! At least now I pick and choose my treats or higher calorie foods and don't eat ALL of them!

Merkee, Thanks so much. I knew it couldn't be good for me, but by the time I'd enter all of my foods for the day it would be 10:00pm. And I know eating late isn't good for me either!

I'll take your advice and start adding some of those higher calorie, healthy foods into my diet. Thanks again.

Undecided

thanks for the explanation. anyone have advice. i started out in october eating about 1400 calories. i started this site at 173, i'm 5'8". lately i've been struggling to eat even 1200. i'm constantly nervous about eating anything "major" b/c i'm afraid i'll go over my suggested calories (1600). am i making it harder for myself by only eating about 1000-1100 calories a day? i now weigh 164. (before i joined this site i weighed 176! :) so i am pretty happy) thanks for any advice to help me hit the 150's!

Thanks merkee. You sound like me. I definitely think i'm 20 lbs lighter in my head too! It's crazy how it just creeps on.

Well thanks for the advice. I like the quote i heard earlier about exercise. "if you wouldv'e started exercising when you first thought about it, it would be done by now..." that is SOOOO true! I do too much thinking and not enough action sometimes! :)

Good luck!! I want to get into the 150's sooo bad! It's been about 3 1/2 years since I've see #'s in the 150's !

Adrileigh is parts of my real name put together. A little about myself...I'm also 27 years old, I'm a teacher and have one child. I was always very active in sports in high school and college. Then I became pregnant and gained nearly 60 lbs. Aaaahh. That was 7 years ago, so I've stopped blaming it on my pregnancy. After the birth of my child, I quickly lost weight and got down to 155 lbs. Since then I gained abou 20 lbs. Not even realizing how much I had gained.....?? So I started cc and and was 176 and within a month down to 165-166. My goal weight is 148 and I'm 5'8". I'm a little concerned that these next 18 lbs. will be harder then the first 10.

I'm excited about this group....

12/1/07- 8x 8oz. water

I've done power 90 before, and I lost so many inches . I really need to start again and can't seem to find the motivation and time. Any advice. I've been on the cc website for exactly one month. I started at 176 and lost 11 pounds without exercise. I've NEVER lost that much weight before without exercising. (don't get me wrong, i don't sit around all day. i'm a teacher and i have a 7 year old...)

Any suggestions to help get motivated!??
