I've had that happen. Oddly enough I stopped being interested in him when he started liking me becasue I was pissed he only paid attention when I lost weight.

Granted, I was flattered by his attention, but I need a man who isnt so obviously shallow.

Sounds good to me! I know one girl that has one. She loves it. So does her bf. lol

Just make sure to practice bare foot first (save the heels for later).

I can't believe that!! I'm not concerned for their children. They will be brought up in a loving home.

I do, however, have some concerns for his children for being exposed to such ridiculous and hateful beliefs.

I'm applying for pharm school right now. Never worked as a pharm tech but shadowed a lot and got to "train" on a few 10 hour shifts at a chain and an independent pharmacy.

It's technically illegal for them not to train you, but they can get around it sometimes.

Just make sure that the pharmacist checks your prescriptions after you fill them. That's what they are there for.

Don't stress. Just read things twice (name and dosage). And make sure they check it. They are ultimately responsible for it.

Also, don't let anyone buy Aspirin if they are on blood thinners (interactions). I found out the other day that's it's the number one reason pharmacists are sued. Surprised

6th grade science: He was a nice guy. I thought he was cute at the time. But he was too involved with students. He had no perception of personal space and would give special attention to particular girls in my class, including me. He was never overt about anything but would just look a little too long. He was really intimidating too and would lean over you whenever you spoke to him.

10th grade chem: I swear he was high every day. He said he kept mercury in his house and huffed it. And would tell us stories about how he almost got arrested at a power plant in California for stealing supplies. Needless to say, I learned nothing in that class.

11th/12th grade AP english: She was leaving and was angry at another teacher because students had requested to transfer out of her class. She called them bitches to everyone who would listen and would talk about me to my face with a group of kids in my class. She was a horrible teacher. Her class was fun sometimes (We played kickball on Thursdays and had Freestyle Fridays-- rap battles, DDR and video game tournaments.) The best revenge was when we knew our principle was coming in for her evaluation (he had gotten parent complaints) two of my friends went around and zip tied all of her stuff including her purse, computer mouse, chair, and her scissors. Then they locked the two computers in our room (one hers, one for us) to play "D*ck in A Box" on repeat at full volume as soon as he walked in. BEST DAY EVER.

Too bad he's working less this semester. I thik he's taken, but looking never hurt anybody. lol

Original Post by samoacookie:

my comfort food is melting chocolate chips and adding peanut butter.  It's so rich and sweet and reminds me long ago... haha.

seems to me that you would like puppy chow.

6 c rice chex

1 to 1 1/2 c chocolate chips (whatever kind you like-- mint chocolate chips are really good, but usually milk or semisweet)

1/3-1/2 c pb

1/3 c powdered sugar

Melt pb and chocolate in microwave. Pour over chex and mix in big bowl.

Once chex are covered, pour into PAPER bag (grocery bags are good), add powdered sugar, seal and shake.

It's the BEST stuff at Christmas parties. It was the only time my mom ever made it when I was little.

if you have low bp consistently, you might want to lower your potassium intake or get your levels checked. a lot of times you have to ask specifically for a certain blood test to be run-- some of them are more costly or require extra time to be processed so they done do them on a regular basis.

just a thought :)

wow. that's a lot of work! i'm a junior too (have org chem 2 and physics also) but i'm only taking 16 hours. what's your major?

anyway, i think it should be fine. i think it works out better for you that lunch is your biggest meal. that way you have more energy for the busiest parts of your day.

good luck this semester!

Me! I can't help it. I'm in college. Ramen factors in quite a bit. I just count it all.

I would cook more if I had more time/ money. Since I don't, processed foods are convenient for me.

One of my friens had an issue with her phone and couldn't read her texts but she could forward them to her mom's phone. When she forwarded them, the person's name couldn't be seen.

Out of 15 texts, she only responded to mine. Why? She knew I sent them because I'm the only person that spelled out every word and didn't use double letters.

I think it's ridiculous that I proofread a paper for a classmate last semester (I'm a junior in college.) He had spelled everything he could in chatspeak and wrote the entire 5 page paper as one BIG paragraph.

Give it at least until Christmas. A lot can change in the next few weeks. See if there are clubs for your major, service clubs, or go to sporting events.

(The other day, I saw some girl in Walmart. I only realized I knew her when she said, "Hey football friend!" We sat by each other at the last two games. lol)

I had trouble too at first but it gets easier. A part time job would probably be a good idea. Just don't get too busy to meet new people.

A lot of my friends I met by asking questions about class or their shoes or their plans for the weekend.

I promise it will get better soon!!

I'm just mad he walked on stage to do that. Dude, you're not on stage right now for a reason; its the Best Female Video.

Anywho, no matter how he feels (and whether anyone agrees with him or not) he should keep his opinions to himself and tell everybody what he thinks later. If he really felt that strongly, I doubt his feelings would have changed by the end of the show, when he could express himslef without being so rude.

Major props to Beyonce for letting Taylor finish her speech. Very classy!

I've lost 27.5 pounds as of this morning. I'm 5'4". I'm still the same size 16 as I was when I started. But they are loose.

My sister, however, can lose 15 pounds and 2 sizes. No joke.

I'm an apple and she's a pear, if that might make a difference. She's also two inches taller.

Just give it time. Good luck!

Honestly.

Usually sentences started with "honestly" really aren't honest. As soon as you say I assume you're probably lying.

Ex: Honestly, I think you did a good job.

Translation: You could have done better, but I don't want to hurt your feelings.

Weight Loss What made YOU realize you HAD to lose weight? Sep 13 2009
04:58 (UTC)
36

I realized that I my self esteem personailty wise didn't match my views about my body. I'm glad I could separate it because I was happy despite my size, but it made it easier to ignore the weight.

Moving away form home (college) helped. I realized I hated being at school and walking across campus and being out of breath all the time.

And... I really HATE hearing "I love your personality, but..." Like, thanks, I'm glad you like me enough to hang out but not enough to date me. I've heard the more times than I care to admit. Shallow or not, I want a man to think I'm pretty.

Anywho, I'm down almost 30 pounds! Heck yes for success so far!

The Lounge Is Chivalry Dead? Aug 22 2009

I moved from big city (in the South) to small town South for college. I was and am still amazed. Every man I have come in contact with has opened and held the door for me, said excuse me, thank you and ased me how my day has been. (Mind you, not usually all of these at once, but mix and match as you see fit.)

It just wasn;t the same as the city. People were nice there, but not overtly helpful or mindful of other people. Here, people (men) are caring and are proud to show their manners (I think it's a way to show everyone how well their parents raised them lol).

My very good friend (a guy) always says, "As long as I'm alive, chivalry is not dead." :)

The Lounge Ladies.. how do you feel when guys stare at you while walking.. Aug 22 2009

Depends on the stare. If he seems interested, nice and not ridiculously obvious, then I find it somewhat flattering. Even if he's with his g/f. Doesn't mean he wants me, just that he notices me.I can usually tell this if I get the head nod w/ a smile. Wink

Now, if he has a bad face while he's staring, not so flattering. Usually that sends me into "What do I look like? How fat does he think I am?" or "What does he want?"

Looking is perfectly fine, but don't touch if you're (or he) is involved with someone.

The Lounge For moms who have put their kids in day care... or not... Jul 24 2009
23:51 (UTC)

I work at a summer camp/ day care. We are in the process of getting licensed. Our program is M-F 830- 1. You choose the days your child will be there and pay for those days.

They usually have early/ after - care if needed. (Usually starting at 7 am and ending at 630 pm) I would start looking now. Depending on the program they may have spots reserved already. Especially since your starting in Jan. as opposed to August (when public school starts.)

My advice:

  • Start looking early.
  • Check to see if they are state certified. (some church programs are not)
  • Meet with the director and your child's teacher.
  • Ask if you can bring your child in early (maybe October) for a trial day to see how the program is run and if she likes it.
  • If you know of any discipline problems be sure to let your child's teacher know. Especially if they will respond better to time out vs. having a toy be taken away.
  • Ask people at your job where their children are going for daycare. Find out what they like (or don't like).
  • Ask them their procedures for feeding chidlren (lunch or snacks), times, etc. Some places are not allowed to heat up food for your kids, so be aware of that if you pack them a lunch.
  • Also, make the director/ teachers aware of what you expect your child to accomplish. Most are more than willing to help. For example, "I'm hoping that Susie will be able to tie her shoes/ be potty-trained/ be able to read by the end of the school year." It lets the teacher know what goals to help your child to work towards.

Good luck!
