| Foods | starbucks new breakfast | Sep 05 2008 03:07 (UTC) |

I had the oatmeal yesterday, it was good. It comes with sides of dried fruit, nuts, and brown sugar, and each side has a calorie count on the package. Brilliant! Warning though, if you add all three it's something like 400 calories total. Still not terrible considering how filling it is, but too many calories for breakfast for me. I added the nuts and some of the sugar and took the fruit home for a 100 calorie snack later. Everything they've added is health conscious and they have a nutritional leaflet that explains everything at the counter. Kudos to Starbucks for giving health conscious eaters several breakfast and lunch options. 2 Thumbs up! |

How about a Vitamuffin? Delicious, 100 calories, tons of vitamins, and 3g protein. Not the cheapest though. If you buy the mix and make them yourself, it's more cost effective. |

I have it. I love everything about hungry girl. Their recipes are perfect for filling the junk food urges without adding too many calories. The website is fantastic, I practically live on those Shirataki noodles. I think a lot of the recipes are great, the book is great too, but you can find all the recipes that are in the book on the website for free. I bought the book anyway because I wanted to support them, but I don't think there is any new info in the book. |

| Weight Loss | Anyone 5'7 and between 180-185 pounds? | Jul 27 2008 07:51 (UTC) |

I think we're a pretty good match. I'm 5'7" and currently 176 lbs. I started a weight loss program about 1 1/2 weeks ago and have lost 2.5 lbs so far. I'm 35 and my goal is to get down to 145 within 5- 6 months. I've put myself on a 1400 calorie a day program and have started exercising again. I'm really excited to start feeling/seeing a difference in my clothes. Good luck! |

| Weight Loss | 160 pounders- how many calories do YOU eat? | Dec 05 2007 19:19 (UTC) |

I'm 166 down from 176 about 6 weeks ago. I try to stay between 1200-1400 daily. I had three days that were up around 1800-2000ish, thanks to eating out and thanksgiving. I've read a lot of posts that suggest calorie fluctuation. I think as long as you don't eat above whatever CC recommends for weight loss, thats fine. My goal is 145 |

Hi everyone, I am both happy and sad to be joining the 160's club. Sad because I of course want to weigh less but happy because I started November 1st at 176 and weighed in yesterday at 166!! The first couple of weeks were slow, then I started running and it has been great. I'm scared it will slow down though, hopefully not. I'm 5'7" and my goal weight is 145. I'm especially anxious to get under 160 because that will put me at a healthy BMI again. I look forward to chatting with all of you and helping to motivate each other to the 150's club!!

Ugghh, so sorry to hear that. It's incredible how insensitive they can be sometimes. They just don't get it. Would it help if you told him that it hurts your feelings when he makes those comments? I read your bio and I think we are in a similar boat. I too started out at 176 after gaining a lot of weight this last year. I'm down 5 so far with a goal of 145. Add me as a friend if you like, maybe we can motivate each other! Hang in there! |

| Weight Loss | Restaurant etiquette | Nov 15 2007 20:51 (UTC) |

I can't think of any situation where it would be considered rude to take part of a meal home. It's both an appropriate and smart thing to do. Advice was given in a post recently (can't remember where) to have the server put half of your meal in a box before serving it. I believe that is inappropriate. It affects the presentation of the meal, and the chef must revamp the dish for you ahead of time. I believe the proper thing to do is eat what you want and then have the remainder boxed. |

| Weight Loss | Ok, I admit it, I need help!!! | Nov 15 2007 16:50 (UTC) |

Let me warn you that I am, in no way, a nutritionist, dietician, or doctor; just someone who reads a lot and has been on lots of diets (ugh) here's what I think~ The spike in weight that your seeing is probably your body reacting to having been in starvation mode from your 900 calorie diet. When you put yourself in starvation mode your body wants to hold on to everything it gets. Now that your eating a healthy amount of calories your body is holding on to everything. I think it will be temporary, it's happened to me before. I would agree that you definitely should not go below 1200 calories, I know it's hard not to when you feel like you can and you see more results. It sounds like your doing everything right and I think if you stick with it you will see results! Good luck!! |

I'm assuming your referring to the health benefits, right? cinnamon is really good for you, it's easy to get enough of if you include it in your food. I brew my coffee with cinnamon in the filter and love the flavor it adds. I also put it in oatmeal or mix it with peanut butter. I can imagine it would be pretty impossible to try to eat a teaspoon of it by itself. Yuck... http://www.healthdiaries.com/eatthis/10-healt h-benefits-of-cinnamon.html |

| Foods | Sushi | Nov 14 2007 23:43 (UTC) |
|
Most sushi restaurants will make rolls with 1/2 the rice if you ask. Also, don't forget about sashimi, I usually order one roll and a couple orders of sashimi or a poke salad. Very filling and healthy, but low-cal without all the rice. Yum, enjoy!! Now I want sushi too |

hose are normally shear and tights are thicker. Another pro for tights aside from looking cute, they don't run. |

| I think fashionable ones are cute but the nude hose thing is over. I don't understand why women still wear them. I agree with you about the open-toed shoes, in my opinion you should never wear a sock or hose with them. If you have to wear hoses, don't wear open-toed shoes, it looks tacky. | |||
