Hey Ladies!  I haven't stopped by this thread in forever!

Sorry but Luis and I are going out of town this weekend, so we won't be around for B2B.  I'm totally up for it next year though.  Hope you have lots of fun!

And let's do the Tour de Golden Gate bike ride for sure on Saturday May 23rd.  Does 10 o'clockish work for everyone?  We can meet at my place or for those of you who need to rent bicycles we can meet at Stow Lake.

I think Edward Norton was the absolute hottest in American History X.  He should have kept his neo-Nazi skinhead look as it really works for him.

Mine are:

Male- Perry Farrell (Jane's Addiction)-- put butter on the man and sop him up like a biscuit

Female- Juliette Lewis

Yes, yes, yes!  Edward Norton in American History X.  Oh the hawtness...

Juliette Lewis... again, not exactly hideous, more of a plain-looking girl, but teh hawtness.

Mass murder is wrong. But if I were a mass murderer, I'd be Mickey and Mallory!

Speaking of Mickey and Mallory, I'd also add Woody Harrelson to my list!

It sounds like you and I are in the same boat!  My wonderful BF and I live together and he has a mad sweet tooth for pastries, chocolate, ice cream, etc.  At my request he now hides the chocolate.  He also loves to also go out to eat (we live in San Francisco where there are so many fabulous restaurants) and when we first started dating I packed on about 50 pounds over a period of a couple of years!  And he'll always want to order an appetizer and/or dessert, and a bottle of wine.  We used to eat out about 3 times a week but now we've cut back because I'm more serious about losing weight and for economic reasons.  However, he does like to eat "healthy" too but our views on healthy eating differ because I was raised in the U.S. and he was raised in Spain.

He could stand to lose about 15-20 pounds, and I've lost 20 but want to lose another 50+ pounds.  He is very supportive of me but doesn't have the same struggles with food that I have.  I'm a binge eater where he is not.  He just plain doesn't eat when he's not hungry and, in fact, will forget about food that's in the cupboard when I know it's there and will obsess over it!!

Sounds like you have a great guy though, so best of luck!

Sometimes when we're hugging my BF will "pick me up" (but not carry me around) and I tell him to put me down or else he's going to put his back out!  But hopefully someday soon we'll be able to frolic around on the beach (with me in my bikini) and he can pick me up and lovingly swing me around.  Wheeeee!

Speaking of boobs, I figure mine must weigh about 10 pounds each!  LOL

Sadly, my arse is wider than my BF's but someday that will change too!

So now that you're lighter than him did you reveal your all-time highest weight or is that one going to the grave?  LOL

Have you taken your measurements?  If not, have someone take your measurements and then continue to do so every 3-4 weeks.  Muscle weighs more than fat, so while you may see your weight go up a bit in the beginning you'll notice that your clothes will start fitting better.  You're becoming a fat burning machine!  The more muscle you have on your body, the more fat you will burn even while resting.

So get that tape measure out now!  You've come a long way girl!  94 pounds in 2 years is awesome!  Keep it up!!!

Oh yeah.  At a recent all-girls-get-together I was the "token fat friend".  Pretty much everyone else was a size 4 and under (except for one other gal who is maybe a size 8), and I'm a size 18.  Not fun.

And, as shallow as this sounds, I would have felt better if one of the other girls was bigger than me!

Whadaya think??  Check it out:  http://www.pica-org.org/AlohaFest/index.html

Skank Ride!  LOL  Good for you!  I skank out occasionally in our gym in the building where we live (don't even wear a bra because no one ever uses the gym early in the morning!)

Sure, Nat, I'm up for a ride real soon!  I think the "closest" BART station to me is Balboa Park or Daly City.  We can meet there and ride to the beach via Lake Merced.

I love my bike!   My BF and I went for a 10-mile ride on the 4th and my arse was sore (can't figure out why since I have so much padding there - LOL).

If you're ever up for cycling on the weekends, let me know!  We could meet up halfway somewhere.

Pregnancy & Parenting i dont want children but my wonderful husband does Jun 20 2008

My boyfriend wants children and I don't.  We've been together for 3 1/2 years.  He just turned 44 and I just turned 46.  He's known all along that I don't want kids, mainly because of my age.  I feel like I'm way too old to have a baby (and if I could even conceive).  We have lived together for the past year and are still blissfully in love, so it makes things all the more difficult.  He has been bringing up the issue much more lately, and last night we discussed it again with me ending up in tears.  I told him that I love him so much and want him to be happy that I would understand if he left me for someone who wants children.  He said he loves me so much, so I know this is hard on him too.  On the other hand, I don't want him to resent me if we stay together.

I would possibly consider marriage and having a child if we were 8-10 years younger but it's just not that way.  Life is so unfair sometimes.

Do you think your husband would be open to mentoring children or coaching a sports team?  Or possibly being a Big Brother?  Looks like you posted this a few months ago - have you two come to a resolution?

I'm full-figured and 5'9", so I prefer men with meat on their bones who are taller than me.  My BF is 6'2" and currently weighs about 220.  When we first started dating three years ago, I weighed about 10 pounds less than him but now I weigh about 40 pounds more than him!  Ack!  (Check out my post "Do You Gain or Lose Weight in a Relationship?")

He still loves me but there's no way in hell I'm ever going to tell him how much I weigh!

My boyfriend and I spent a whirlwind weekend in Seattle last May and did the following:

Went to Lakeview Cemetery to see Bruce Lee's grave (my BF LOVES martial arts movies).  His son Brandon is buried next to him.

Space Needle/Pike's Place Market/Pioneer Square/International District

Dinner at Ray's Boathouse (we actually went to the cafe upstairs which has basically the same menu but cheaper.  Plus, you can sit outside where there's a beautiful view of Puget Sound and they give you blankets when it gets chilly!)

Dinner at Salty's (beautiful views of Downtown Seattle but we thought the food at Ray's was better).

Saw the Fremont Troll

Went to the Fremont Sunday Flea Market

Two things we wish we would have had time to do:

Underground Tour at Pioneer Square

Tour the Boeing Plant

Moogie:  So are we meeting at Mykonos' hotel instead of 83 Proof?  LOL

Ack!!!!  Ixnay on the sprinting in the buff through the park!  I don't want to scare anyone so I'll wait and peel off my costume when I'm in the ocean!

There's a bar right behind my office on First Street called 83 Proof that is opening "painfully early" for B2B so that's another optional meeting place.  (Just kidding!!)  Just be forwarned that they "reserve the right to refuse you service if you are naked".

So do you think we'll see any naked people at B2B?

I think we had mentioned the Ferry Building but it might be difficult to find each other.  Is your hotel near the Embarcadero?  If so, perhaps we can meet there?  And we should probably exchange cell numbers!

Okay, I'll work on a buggish costume of some sort!  I am toying with the idea of staying in the City a a hotel near the embarcadero to be close at hand when it is time to meet up, plus that weekend starts my "week of vacation" so I feel like splurging a little on having fun.

Michellesf, that is way cool of you to host a little soire after the walk, I'll chip in or bring a bottle of something (I can stick a bottle of wine in my camelback!!)

Hi Mykanos:  It's my pleasure to have a little shindig at my place.  We have plenty of vino but that's sweet of you to offer to bring something (that bottle might get a little heavy after 7 miles!)  We also have a lot of bottled water for the non-drinkers.  And, of course, the snacks will be healthy.  If we run out of foodies/libations, Safeway is across the street!

Where are you going on vacation?
