That link is pretty useful for the ball exercises...you can also find a ton of other workout ideas on this website. I use it for new ideas when I get bored because I workout in my room instead of the gym.

Weight Loss How many calories do you all consume? Jan 27 2008

ginabean1080 and ahg1794: If you eat more fruits and vegetables you'll consume more calories but not a large amount. I have discovered that an apple and banana can keep me going for about 4 hours without being hungry if I really do not have the time to eat. Fruits have natural sugars that last longer and are healthier than caffeine. Vegetables fill you up but do not sit heavy in the stomach; heavy food makes me feel sluggish. If you add more calories to your diet by eating fruits and veggies you will not gain the weight back you lost. If anything it should help you boost your metabolism and result in more weight loss. (Although I wouldn't recommend eating only an apple and banana in four hours. I only do that when I absolutely have to, lol) And a varying 3 pounds is just water weight. Its annoying but don't let it get you down. Good luck! :-)
Weight Loss Calories, too many or too few, which is worse? Jan 09 2008

Honestly, if you're really worried just wash the dishes for half an hour. I think pgeorgian is right about calorie counting not being an exact science so if you're hungry have something small to eat then stay active for a little while afterward. If you're not hungry then its your body telling you that it is functioning fine without those last 50 calories. The best you can do is listen to your body.

I completely understand! I tell my boyfriend that I have gained so much weight since I've started college and he always says I don't look any different. He thinks, and has this notion that if he tells me enough that I'll agree with him, that I'm beautiful. And I couldn't agree with him less. There are some times, for about five minutes, that I actually do agree with him...then feel guilty for agreeing with him and keep thinking "he must be going blind because I look so different! He may not think I look different but thats only because I've become an expert on covering it up. Your boyfriend most likely whole-heartedly believes that you are perfect the way you are...and you are probably the only person that disagrees with him. You sound healthy for your stats. But I know where you're coming from when you say you feel different even if other people can't see it. You're definitely not alone.
Foods McChicken - Convince me from NOT having one tonight! Dec 24 2007

A majority of chicken used in fast food restuarants at one time were used for their eggs. If chickens lived a full life they can live more than ten years! On an egg farm they live maybe 18 months until they are no longer useful for producing eggs. They are often squished in a 16" cage with 4-6 other chickens so they can't stretch their wings at all and are rarely, if ever, let out. This condition leads to cannabalism...scary. Farmers often shave or cut their beaks so they can't hurt eachother without using any medications...this is as painful, if not more so, than cutting an animals nails too far and actually cutting into nerves (far worse than cutting your nails too far). While in these cages these chickens are expected to produce up to 300 eggs a year! While in 1993 they produced 70 eggs a year. This high number of eggs increases chickens osteoporosis exponentially...to the point where if the chicken is picked up bones will break. A majority of chickens in fast food restaurant food lived a tortured life. Eve free-range chickens often don't get outside. They are allowed to "freely range" on the concrete floor of a barn with as many other chickens as will fit. I'm vegetarian converting to vegan and I don't want to preach but if you want meat try to make sure the animal wasn't tortured during it's life. The Vegan Sourcebook by Joanne Stepaniak gives a lot of information on this. I don't expect you to stop eating meat, just be aware of what you're eating.
Fitness Calluses Dec 09 2007

I had horrible calluses on my hands as a gymnast. Here is what helped me:Before you go to bed at night soak your hands in really hot soapy water for about five minutes then use a pummus stone to rub down your calluses and get the dead skin off. Slather on vaseline and put on a pair of old gloves, keep the gloves on all night. Wash your hands the next morning and put some lotion on. Do this every other night and if you don't like vaseline baby's oil works well too. You can get a pummus stone at any drug or retail store. Washing dishes by hand helps too.

This is a pretty helpful site: it gives a bunch of poses and various tips. yogalearningcenter.comThere are also a ton of DVDs out there. My favorite is Yoga for Stress Relief by bodywisdom media. I don't know if I could teach you online but I could give you tips and answer any questions you might have. :-)Meditation is a little more complicated but once I got the hang of it, it was very relaxing. The next time your coworker bugs you about your weight whether you're losing or gaining just look in their eyes and tell them that they look very nice today and turn around and walk away. Don't give in to other people's comments like the ones from your coworkers! :-) much luck!!!

I know where you're coming from...the annoying thing is that gaining a little weight back is normal when you're dieting. The body finally gets sick of you "starving" it. It sucks. But you can do it!!! :-) If you really get the urge to have one of those muffins either eat only half or get something healthier like an apple, which is actually more filling with less guilt later. Buy berries and freeze them. They take a long time to eat because they're so cold. Plus, its been proven that women when under stress tend to store the stress as fat even if they're not eating differently. It's a vicious circle. The best you could do for yourself right now is maybe yoga or learn to meditate. Good luck, you can do it and reach your goal! (Don't pay attention to anyone else...this is one area where it is ok to be a little self centered: they are not as important as you are.) :-)
Foods HELP! College Dining Hall Dilemma Dec 08 2007

You look great! But if you are concerned about how you look you could always talk to a nutritionist, most college campuses have one. They can be really helpful and if they are on campus they have most likely seen what is available to eat in your dining hall. Just make sure to factor in your very active lifestyle and you're good to go.
Weight Loss Something that's making me mad Dec 07 2007

I was looking at a magazine the other day and there was  picture of Sandra Bullock. The caption was saying that she was way too thin and was skin and bones...at 125-130 pounds. She's a tall woman. I'm 5'3" and if I weigh 125 i look a little pudgy. My sister is thinner than me but is about 5 inches taller and weighs 10-15 pounds more. Height can have quite a bit to do with it. Just keep eating healthy, get all your fruits, vegetables, calcium, and iron requirements. You sound perfectly healthy for your height, age, and gender.
Weight Loss Beginner's headache Dec 07 2007

It depends on how much you are allowing yourself to eat. If you are not eating at least 1200 calories a day, which is what your body needs just to function on a daily basis, then you are going to feel hungry and tired. You could also be getting headaches if you are not drinking enough water. But if you are not eating enough your headaches will not go away.
