Weight Loss Alcohol? Apr 29 2009

When I started on my diet in January, I completely cut out alcohol.  Then, after I finished the race that I was training for, I started drinking again.  I drink vodka and Crystal Light and I'm still losing weight.  I've lost around 15 -17 pounds since the beginning of January and it's still steadily coming off.  I have found that it's a LOT harder to get up in the morning to run everyday, but if I do it, the pounds and inches are still coming off.  During the day, I drink water ALL day.

My biggest problem to drinking and losing weight is the energy loss that I have because of the effects alcohol has on my body.

You have an advantage of being young with a faster motabolism than I do.  I'm 31, 5' 2" and around 140.  I began my diet and exercise in January and I dropped about 15 - 17 pounds.  I've been eating between 1200 and 1300 calories a day and running outside at least 3 - 4 miles a day, 5 days a week, plus doing weights occasionally.  I stopped losing pounds for a little while, but the inches were still coming off.  I upped my running to 4 miles a few times a week and I've lost couple of pounds since then.

I have 10 more pounds until I hit my target weight, but I know once I'm there I'll add another 5 pounds that I want to lose.

Good luck!

My goal is to lose 15 pounds by Christmas too, so 20 pounds in 10 weeks sounds perfect!!!   I'm game!

I just joined this site on Monday, so I may have a lot of questions.  I've never counted calories before.

Thank you all for your input.  I feel better now about my eating habits and my constant eating of healthy foods to avoid hunger.

I tried Weight Watchers and lost a LOT of $$money with LA Weightloss, and so far I've enjoyed doing this the most, on my own with all the support of the members of this site.  I got married 1 and 1/2 years ago and have gained WAY too weight since then.  The weight appears so quickly and then it's so hard to get rid of.  Hopefully, this site will help me change my lifestyle to get healthy again.
