New Members When the boyfriend won't help with the diet...and makes it worse Jan 04 2008
21:42 (UTC)

I read this post and I thought wow I might have well posted it. I lost 60 pounds and then gained 30 back living with the bf. Thankfully he's starting to realize he can't eat what he wants to either (he hit 24 and it didn't stay off like it used to)

Hopefully he'll start at the gym with me tonight. I'm struggling with coming up with healthy meal ideas for the both of us. its really hard when he can eat twice as much as I can, but i guess that's the difference between male and female and body types.

Hopefully things work out and you can figure out a plan for yourself and stick to it. I'm trying to write everything I eat down and let the bf do what he's going to do. it seems like me changing all the groceries we buy to healthy food has helped. Ordering in is always tough. I try to have a little bit and save the rest for the next day.

if you want to chat just add me :D

Hey all Tongue out

I'm back at it as well! I got off track over the holidays :( Who doesn't right? But I did get a  nifty new scale to weigh food on, its awesome, i can't wait to start using it. plus i actually weighed myself today ( i'd been putting it off for months) and it wasn't as bad as i thought. I have about 34 pounds to lose. I watched a show on TLC last night, i think they were having a marathon of weight loss shows, and a lady was on who weighed 650 pounds.  It made me believe that if someone of that size can lose weight and want to be healthier than my 34 pounds is nothing.  Some of the stories were really sad but they all had hope of a better life.

Christmas was hard this year, I think i told you guys i was going to be an auntie but my brother's gf miscarried on christmas eve, it was hard for everyone.  It was nice to spend time with my entire family and to go shopping and see some movies though.

How was everyones christmas and new years??  Hope everyone is doing really great!!

I remember when I lost 60 pounds two years ago, i'd only weigh myself once a week because i was becoming obessive. i'd way myself everyday and if i'd go up a pound or down a pound i'd freak out. So I did it every sunday morning. I also allowed for the time of the month. I remember once i was up four pounds and i flipped out. weighed myself the week after my time of the month and presto i was down the four and down another two. So i really didn't go by the scale, i just watched what i ate and worked out.

I am working again to get the thirty off i put on, but i don't seem to be as motivated.  Coming on here really helps. So i'm going to start weighing myself every sunday as it makes me accountable for my health.

Hope everyone's day went well and they are still reaching their goals. CG how's everything going, any progress?

Thanks for the responses. I slipped on the weekend and had a diet coke. But  i drank tonnes of water to make up for it.  Then the next day I had a killer headache, like one of the worst i've ever got. It really helped me realize that caffeine isn't good for me at all.  How's everyone else doing with there caffeine kick?

Hey All

Also had a terrible week. I went home again and we always go for fish and chips, i swear it has about 3000 calories in the one meal alone. I ate well all week so i figured the one meal slip is ok.

Kozlo its hard when you've got so much family stuff going on, you're doing really well, its just about starting every day fresh. If you had a bad yesterday then you get to start over and have a great today.

I'm slowly making it toward my goals. I still don't want to weight myself, i'm going with how i feel. Does anyone else not weigh themselves?  I wil eventually, i'm just building up to it.

I had some great news this weekend, i'm going to be an Aunty! Its the first grandchild on both sides, and it was very unexpected, so i'm pretty pumped. Its actually giving me more motivation to get in shape so i can run around after my little niece or nephew :D

Hi All i went home for the weekend and i couldn't get on here and check up on our forum. Everyone seems to be doing well. Thanks for the soup recipes, i'm getting groceries tommorow so i'm going to try both of them! I did not have a good weekend. Ate out twice with my family and had lots of treats, but i'm not beating myself up. Just ate better today and did lots of walking, altho i do need to get my butt to the gym. How was everyone' sweekend?? Kozlo congrats on the three pounds, you're getting closer to your goal! it's always the best feeling.  I'm really glad for this place. Its nice to see that everyone is so supportive.  I watched an english show called How to Look Good Naked, I really recommend this show. Its about people who have issues with their bodies and how to make the best of what you have and how to love all your wobbly bits.  Its a greeeeat show.  It makes me realize that I'm never going to be a model but I should be damn proud of what i've got and that I need to take care of what I have.  So If you get the chance try to get an episode or two. Does anyone else have any shows that give them a lift??

Milly hope all is going well with the bfs parents. I was super stressed out when I met my fella's mother. So I did horribly this weekend. Is there actually something worse than horribly because thats what it was. I ate out twice, had lots of treats. I was good all week then i went to visit my family who live in a smaller town. My family loooooooves to eat. We're British and i think eating must be a national pastime. So i'm cracking down this week. Lots of water today and lots of walking around. But i need more intense excercise. Someone please kick my butt and get me off the couch to the gym. How do you all motivate yourself to work out???

I am currently in the process of giving up pop, and i am getting the worst Caffeine headaches, they're seriously making me want to just pick it back up, but i figure im just prolonging the inevitable. Its hard to quit something. I'm an addictions counsellor and its really hard to go through the withdrawal from caffeine, i'm snappy at work and get jealous when other people drink it.But when it comes down to it, the pop is killing my stomach and i'm getting more and more headaches. Bipolypesca i think you and i have the same thing, i think a lot of my headaches are caused by the caffiene. when it comes down to it, it hink you just gotta get over the first few days hump and then hopefully it won't be too too bad. it does seem to be getting hard. I've also heard diet pop doesn't help you lose weight at all, for some people its the opposite. Is that true??

Hi all. I'm Canadian and my thanksgiving already past, so i'm aiming for christmas. I have a huge family get together, we meet just the once a year, and i KNOW i'm gonna go and everyone is going to say, ohh you put on a few pounds this year.. * I have the most annoying cousin, he's realllly overweight, but likes to point out how the females inthe family have gained a few pounds*. I lost 60 pounds two years ago and 30 have crept back on. I want to get 15 off by christmas. I think this is achieveable? Or is that crazy?? I worked out for an hour yesterday, i felt pretty good. I took today off and will work out again tommorow. You all seem to be doing so well. When is your thanksgiving?? Idgy i think its great you bought a size smaller, how awesome is that feeling, no no i'll take the 12 not the 14 thank you very much. (well those are my sizes but you know what I mean :)

Congrats on kicking MCdonalds! I'm currently in the middle of kicking my pop habit. i was a two can a day girl , then one can, now its only when i go out, after christmas its gone all together.  I find if phase stuff out it helps me become used to not having it.  Pizza is also a big thing for me at the moment. My bf loves it and i'm having a hard time saying no. Is any form of pizza healthy? I get the ristorante  ones that aren't too too bad, but i still feel like its not the best. I'm new here, I decided if i'm gonna do this right I need support especially as i try to lose weight over the holiday season, groan. Just wanted to say that this place is awesome, and everyone seems really nice and supportive.
