I don't have suggestions for ALL of them:
I am a salad LOVER and really tend to shy away from DRESSINGS.... I will often squeeze a fresh ORANGE over my salad and then sprinkle a good balsamic vinegar on top...it's a delicious combination that I have begun to really enjoy! :)
I ALSO tend to steer clear of CHEESE cause I can't stop eating it once I START----buuuuut a GREAT substitute that I have discovered are the LIGHT laughing cow cheese wedges----only 35 calories a wedge! smooth,..creamy,...extremely MELTABLE and SOooo delicious! |

Actually, yesterday I made an egg white omelet ! I LOOOOOVE them by the way :) *tee hee so I thought I could help ya~ I use a slightly ---DIFFERENT way to do it :) I fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil.. place a small sandwich ziploc bag inside a coffee mug and then fill it with my egg-whites, and whatever INCLUSIONS i want like....salsa,...mushrooms, onions, cheese, salt/pepper, etc. etc. etc.--- remove excess air and ZIP the bag closed.. then place the omelet in the pot of simmering water and cover with a lid. "poach" until done--....... then just remove from the water and open bag--place onto plate......throw away bag and YOUR DONE! :o) :o) MESS FREE!!
here are some PICS of us doing them :)

Okay guys; just writing a quick little post-- Oye--needing a bit of encouragement--- not to give TMI but it's MTOM and it's the first fairly REAL one that I have had in a very LOONG time. ANYWAY----WITH THAT has come that "beached whale" feeling where EVERYTHING I eat makes me bloated and HUGE. My tummy is really extended and I can't help but to feel soooooo yucky--:( It makes me feel SO fat......and then of course..stepping on the scale was a HUGE mistake. Even tho I KNOW in my head that the "gain" is probably due to my period....it's STILL hard to swallow and makes me feel self conscious. To top it off I was like SQQQEEEZZZIIING into my jeans last night too! :( :( very sorry to write and be so glum because I kNOW that I always LOVE the posts from girls who seem so positive and CONFIDENT but I guess I'm just really feeling the *YUCK* right now. maybe I just need to get up,....get oUT of this dorm room.......and be productive..........STOP THINKING about "poor ol me" ya know? ha ha
alright ladies---well thanks for allowing me to spout off-- believe it or not it helped? wishing you all the bestest of days :) keep up your health----keep workin' hard You're all so beautiful! |

my grocery stores carry the fruit refreshers. i googled them and found out that you can call this number to ask about where they're sold: #888-260-3776
they're really worth it, though; 33 ounces and 79 cents each. if you see them and decide to try them, i recommend cherry limeade or pomegranate if you want a full-on juice taste.
THANK YOU! called the number! and found a store RIGHT down the road that apparently stocks them! hooray! I'm picking a few up for work tonight! yay for new food/drink finds!! :) |

YUP! me too! I'm a college student but I hold down a waitressing job part time. I work about 8-9 hour shifts too and unfortunately---the place I am employed doesn't give breaks unless you would come in BEFORE your shift---or stay AFTER your shift for a 1/2 price meal and YICK i don't want to eat the food cause it's a chain restaurant and there are FEW healthy options!! I am recovering from anorexia so MY main issue is that it gets VERY easy to simply NOT EAT for that whole time----- I often bring in my OWN things to snack on...veggies,....drinks etc. cause otherwise I have to be PAYING for UNHEALTHY food----OR will snack on the tortilla chips every time i pass by which i DO NOT want to be doing! YUCK! (oil soaked) I agree tho---it's really hard---especially because of the way my job has "break times" set up----not cool--I mean--WHO WANTS TO COME IN AN HOUR BEFORE THEIR SHIFT ACTUALLY STARTS TO HAVE TIME TO EAT!!!!!?????? and who wants to stay after an 8-9 hr. shift to eat?? NO ONE!!! |

Clinical evidence suggests glucomannan may be beneficial in weight loss.[4] Because it is a soluble fiber, it absorbs water to form a viscous gel-like mass. This mass may promote feelings of satiety while traveling through the gastrointestinal tract. In obese patients, taking 1 gram of glucomannan with 8 ounces (250 ml) of water 1 hour before each of 3 meals daily over 8 weeks resulted in an average weight loss of 5.5 pounds

I have a few that really stick out--
I remember shopping in a mall and deciding I was HUNGRY so for the first time that I could POSSIBLY remember--I stopped at Subway---ordered a 6-in. turkey on honey oat WITH SWISS!!! and sat down and ate the WHOLE THING...called my family in Pennsylvania while I was eating to tell them what I was doing and I could hear my mom/sister crying in the background b/c they KNEW that not long before I wouldnt havn't even CONSIDERED indulging in a sandwich..!! E-V-E-R! if it wasn't lettuce,..i wasn' thaving it!
Another is the first time I let myself eat a banana.... before it was on my list of..."too high calorie food"
or,....the first time I let myself eat a CUP-CAKE when my friends decided to surprise me on my birthday with a party---they baked my old time favorite FUN-FETTI cupcakes and I would have felt HORRIBLE saying no! so i ate a cup-cake....the JUICE they had (which was NOT sugar free but i didn't care)---and even jelly beans cause they bought my fav. starburst kind!!--
i have tons of good memories--- |

I love Kashi GoLean cereal. It's 140 calories for a cup. It has 10 (yes, 10, not a typo) grams of fibers, which puts a dent in your fiber quota for the day. It also has 13 gr of protein. Ingredients include soy, oatmeals and a bunch of whole grains. I eat it with Almond Breeze, which is a light milk substitute, and add Splenda for sweetness. I have been hooked on Kashi for the past 3 years. At some point I tried 'Curves' but did not like it. Also, most 'healthy' cereals have more sugar and less protein than my beloved Kashi. I really really really recommend it. When I want a change, I make an omelette with Egg Beaters and fill it with a small banana 'stir fried' in a nonstick pan with butter Pam, with a bit of brown sugar and rum flavor.
yyeaah, curves has HIGH-FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP in it if you read the label.. not cool---so I don't eat it either-- i agree about the kashi

I successfully ate a healthy dinner and as usual,....since I've begun to eat again, was tempted to eat SWEET THINGS afterward! i avoided the honey-bunches of OATS in the cabinet :)----yeah,..cause If I would have gotten them out,...i would have sat there and eaten half the box simply D-R-Y without milk even!--:) :) I've also resisted the chewing and spitting thing----haven't done that IN SOOOO long and I"m SOOO HAPPY!! :) :) :) |
