I hadn't heard that.

I can't see her writing a book though. But people will buy it just because Lauren Conrad wrote it and shes famous and blah blah.

bails_babe115 its ok to not want to count calories all the time. I have those days too lol. When it happens to me I just try my best to eat healthily and avoid a lot of processed food and food high in sugar like cookies and chips and stuff. For the most part, healthy food (especially fruit and veggies) is low in calories, so even if you don't feel like counting every calorie your should still be ok. And of course its fine to have a treat. I try to work something in every day so i dont go crazy lol

taykaybelle I'm glad you and your family didn't get hurt. and lucky you you don't have school lol

smokeysondrugs i usually eat between 1500 and 1800 calories depending on if i exercise and how hungry i am. i've read many times that teens shouldn't go below 1500 cals. We're still growing and even if your not getting taller your body is still developing and your brain keeps growing until you're 21. so i would try to eat closer to 1500 or more if i was you. but that's just my advice

I'm a social and emotional eater which is bad. I've been trying to lose weight since January and haven't lost a pound because of it. It's a daily struggle and I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever overcome it.

I had a boyfriend but I recently broke up with him. He was an amazing guy and loved me for me but I began to realize that I only liked him as a friend. It's been over a month since we broke up and I'm beginning to wonder if it was the right choice. I live in Kansas City Kansas btw

Do you guys think i can do it? overcome my eating habits? I know you dont even know me but it gets so hard waking up every day thinking i'm going to start over and lose weight and feel better about myself, just to end up overeating at the end of the day and ruining my hard work. i've tried everything i can think of to stop it and nothing seems to work....

I go back August 19th. I go to a private school so we have to wear uniforms. I had to move the buttons on my skirts from last year cuz they were too small but I'm hoping to be able to move the buttons back soon.

Mine says December 26th too, but I want to reach my goal weight before Christmas. I really think I can do it. My goal is to get down to 125 which means I need to lose 20 lbs, which I think is definitely possible by Christmas. If I stay on track, that is, lol. School starting up makes it easier for me, because I'm busy all the time which means I'm not just sitting around or eating just because I'm bored (which i've stopped doing but it's still tempting sometimes).

bleh...definitley not a good week so far. I tend to binge when I have emotional problems, and there's been a lot of bad stuff going on in my family, thus I've been eating a lot :/ But I've been trying to journal more to get my emotions out in a healthy way, so hopefully that will help. Anyways tomorrow's a new day!

taykaybelle, your birthday is 2 days after mine!! mine's august 28! lol. and about your parties, if you can, try bringing a veggie or fruit tray, so you know there will be something there you can eat. Try to eat as healthfully as you can, but since its a party don't feel bad if you indulge in one or two things, just keep portions small.

It's really good, but because there aren't any eggs to hold the cake together, it falls apart really easily. I made one for my mom for her birthday, and I tried to make it with 2 9" round pans, and when I tried to flip the cake out, it completley fell apart. So it's good, but be careful : )

Has anyone tried the take the cake flavor that is now a permanent flavor? I almost got that one...it looked yummy.

I bought the Take the Cake flavor...it actually tastes like yellow cake with frosting!! It's really good, but it's almost too sweet for me.

I've only tried Cheesecake Diva and Cookies and Dreams from the American Idol line. I think the cheesecake ice cream tastes too fake but I like the chunks in it. I like the cookies and dreams one better, but I prefer cookies with vanilla ice cream and not chocolate like that kind. I want to try One Split Wonder next....banana ice cream and fudge...yum!!

soulmaiden, journaling is a great idea! I used to journal a lot, but I haven't done it latley; I think I'll try to start up again. I still binge just about every day, but I'm doing better controlling them and making them smaller. One new thing I'm going to try is to pre-portion out my snacks, close the container, and take my snack out of the kitchen. I find that if I eat in the kitchen (unless its a meal with my family) I get this "feeling" that I'm not satisfied and that's when I start overeating. And when I'm in the kitchen, I have trouble talking myself out of eating, but I can reason with myself if I'm out of the kitchen. I also try to eat lots of small snacks throughout the day so that I don't get too hungry.

has anyone seen a nutritionist about their binging? since i started dieting about 7 months ago i've always had my "bad" days but this is getting worse and more frequent for me.. i'm looking into seeing a doctor but curious for some feedback from your experiences

I was going to see a psychiatrist about my binging problem, but then it seemed like it was getting better so my parents canceled my appointment. But now I'm wondering if I should reschedule it...

I have the same problem. Have you had your thyroid checked? That is a symptom of low thyroid.

I have low thyroid but I have a prescription and take it daily. Maybe I'll have my doctor retest me to make sure I'm still getting enough.

Thank you guys so much for all your suggestions and support!! I haven't been able to stop my binges completley yet, but they have gotten smaller. I decided to make my "cheat day" Monday because I'm out of the house for most of the day so I won't be tempted to keep going back to the kitchen. Plus, Mondays are a drag so now I have something to look foward to : ) When I started a binge on cereal tonight, I was able to stop, look at the box, and say "Wait for Monday," which is a huge step for me. I can't wait to try all the other suggestions though! I haven't had a bubble bath in a long, long time and it sounds like the perfect way to distract myself and relax. The cleaning and mocha are good ideas, too. I'll have to buy some decaf and try it : )

I know what the ice cream tastes like, I'm satisfied, and I don't need more : ) Thank you, because me going back for more usually ends up with me eating ice cream straight out of the carten : )

I can sympathise with you : ( I was anorexic for about a year, and now I'm struggling with BED myself. I'm seeing a psychologist in about a week, and hopefully that will help. I know how hard it is to struggle with food every day and hate the way you look and feel. I wish I could tell you the answer to our problem, but unfortunatley I don't know what it is. I'm so sorry you've had to go through all this, and I'm here for you if you every want to talk : )

My problem is breakfast. I have free period first hour. All the juniors and seniors who have been approved for this period sit in the caffeteria. Well, our cooks keep their doors open till about 8:30. I never seem to make it the whole time without going in and eatting a donut. It is only 190 calories, but it makes a difference. It seems like i eat it just because of the temptation and not because i am hungry. I pack yogurt, grapes, apples, oranges, fresh veggies, or rice cakes in my lunch. My friends really seem to pick apart what i eat though. It is annoying.

My friends pick apart what I bring for lunch, too!! They ask me why I bring "diet" foods and they make comments like "ooh what fruit did Hannah bring today?" It gets so annoying!!

sunkissedbliss is right. I know the feeling of binging and wanting to purge, because that's how I feel at this moment. I tried to make myself do it once and I couldn't and I'm happy that I couldn't. Throwing up is extremely bad for you, the acids in your stomach will wear away your teeth and throat lining and cause some serious health problems. I've binged today, and it was going to be my 5th day in a row without binging : ( But you know what? I'll just start again, and take it hour by hour. It takes determination and sometimes help from other people.

loveloveme, I know you may not want to, but it may be best for you if you see a councilor. I've got an appointment with one in a few weeks, because even though my family supports me and I'm fighting every day with binging, a councilor may be able to help me in some way others can't. A good tip for binging, though, is to try to keep foods that you binge on out of the house. That way if you absolutley have to have something, you have to drive to get it and hopefully you will change your mind when your in the car :)

katergater, I hope you got through the night ok!! I know that feeling and how hard it can be to resist
