Yah I say I cut back but is it really cutting back when you just drink all your drinks in one night instead of 2 or 3? lol idk maybe we get to lie to ourselves because we arent drinking every night like we used to!?! Ok so YCC is youth correctional counselor, its with the State of California! Im super excited! And for those who dont know. I will be working with youth in the "prison system" not "jail".... as for the difference jail is for people who have less than a year sentence, prison is for more than a year. Anywho the job is a long process but i am finally starting my background check, I believe, which is usually the longest part of any hiring process! Anywho I hope that answered the questions! Happy weekend to all! and screw it, lets have a drink! :o) nat |

Hello everyone! I am back! I just today finally got internet hooked up in my new apartment and this was one of my first stops! I feels so lost, there are new people and I am so out of the loop on convos! Good thing they all consist of drinking too much, or boasting about walking away from the liquid devil! I have actually done really well for the most part. I work at the bar friday and saturday nights so I dont have time to drink, however thursdays usually start at 6 and dont stop until 2 when they kick us out! So Im sure all that consumption really makes up for me taking days off! LoL Anywho I hope that everyone is well and is having a fantastic weekend! Cant wait to get back into the swing of things and visit this site more often! Nat |

so i am finally moved into my new apartment, its so nice to be on my own again. however that means saving money. so less drinks, which i guess is the point to losing weight but booo on that! i have been doing much better on the drinking, i think part of it has to do with the fact that i bartend fri and sat so no time to drink. but i do find time randomly throughout the week. i had to work st pats day which sucked, i wanted a green beer. i did have a poor mans cider, but only one! anywho i hope everyone has recovered from the "food coloring" haha! bottoms up! nat |

ok ok i know i havent been keeping up with this website but i have a good excuse or 12! My best friends just moved (one last friday and one this morning) to so cal about 5 hours from our hometown. so i have been spending ooodles of time with them! :o) I also started a new job, which helps me to stay off of the computer. i have also been taking tests and working my way towards becoming a Youth Correctional Counselor! i have still been doing well when it comes to saying no to drinks, except for last night. i got suckered into drinking. when i tried ordering a tall, not a double, but somehow the bartender conned me into a double tall which ended up becoming 1 part ice, 1 part coke, and 20 parts rum! lol but it was fun! anywho! oh and another excuse i have been apartment hunting, but i found one and am moving the middle of this week! im super stoked! i might not have internet there for a week so if i dispear again you know why! WELL thats my story and im sticking to it! nat ps yes i am a bartender its oh so fun! and stops me from drinking so much on fri sat! |

Well so far I have done pretty well on saying no to drinks. I have had a drink, or a shot here and there when Im out but nothing like normal. Blake Shelton sings a song about how if he has one drink then before he knows it he has 13, thats me. So for me to have one or two group shots im doing good! I even went out on wednesday for a huge going away party for my best friend (from childhood), and i only had 2 shots. which one was purchased for me without my say so lol and the other was a cheers to my best friends! cant say no all the time! Long story short I have done really well this week! I think that I am going to try to continue on that journey! I work thursday friday and saturday at the bar so looks like that will help :o) Hope everyone else is doing well! |

Jenn, (can i call you Jenn?, or is it Jen?) Haha ok sorry sometimes i make myself chuckle! but about giving up the drinks for a bit, i am so with you, i feel like im talking to my twin at times! I have had a couple bad days, drinks did the trick for a bit.. but somehow i always feel like more of an ass after a drunk week than i do a sober one! so im back on the "no thank you" wagon... sometimes its fun to see everyone's face when they find out the life of the party will be entertaining them sober! :o) good luck with your journey of less drinks! i know I will need it!! natoo ps i had the best time on vaca EVER! thanks! |

Jennifer- Seems i didn't get back to you before my trip, but i am back now and i must say that i had the time of my life! i totally slacked on the diet and drank anything i wanted... gained back a pound or 2, but id do it all over again in a heartbeat! we went to lincoln city, oregon, we being 13 of my girls from college/softball. we rented a very nice beach house, and got lucky enough to crash another even nicer beach house full of 20 or so boys there for a bachelor party! awesome time but now those cocktails are much harder to say no to. i enjoy my alcohol, and now i must say no! BOOOO!!!! lol but its ok ill figure it out eventually! |

| I am no exercise specialist, however Ive been an athlete all my life with many different trainers through college. I have heard that cardio helps to lose the weight around the mid section. For me personally I try to get cardio in as much as possible, and throw in ab work outs too.. but what i try to do is to change the ab exercises that i do all the time. so one day i do 4 styles, the next 4 different, and so on. obviously there arent a million diff ab workouts but that is what i feel helps me! good luck! | |||

I work at a bar, I also happen to love hanging out there, so I tend to spend nights out there. Which means I run into a lot of regular, and of course I go in when my favorite co-workers are tending bar! It is so hard to not drink! Free drink offers here and there, I could go in with no money and leave drunk! BUT I went in last night, had one light beer, and that is it! My co-worker even mentioned she hadnt seen me lately and asked if id been ok.. i mentioned i was trying to cut out the alcohol, and she said she was proud! which made me feel good about what im doing! SO for all of you are resisting temptation, even only once, im proud of you too!!! Keep at it, trust me the weight loss is so much more inspiring that a drink or two! Special props to ricen... college towns are SO hard to say no in.. there are parties EVERYWHERE! I know I just graduated! BUT i must add i wouldnt change a single party moment in college for a pound... ok maybe one or two but I loved it, id do it again, and i def miss it! but keep at it! |

| Weight Loss | cardio before or after weight training??? | Jan 30 2008 02:27 (UTC) |

| I think personally for me cardio before warms the muscles, gets me all ready to work out! I find when Im lifting, I lift semi hard, so Im exhausted when Im done. So when its all over I cant even think about cardio! But I know some of my teammates used to run after our weight training and seemed to do fine, but I never had the energy. I would test it yourself and see which is more effective! BUT I don't know if what I do "burns" the most but for me Im working out and thats what matters! Good luck! :o) | |||

| I have to say that I find it hard to believe that you become ugly if you are beautiful with a few extra pounds, as long as you dont become like anorexic skinny, you should still be beautiful! but thats just my opinion... and if it were me, I would choose whichever makes ME the most happy! So when are you the happiest?! | |||

He was cute though and flirty all night lol... so I kissed him! It was actually nice and sweet! It wasnt anything too special and I dont think I ever talked to him after that night but ill never forget it! | |||

| WELL... those weekend cocktails that I have been avoiding def. caught up to me this last weekend. my birthday officially started midnight thursday/friday morning... i wasnt going to drink but low and behold when you visit your co-workers at the bar you work at and they know when your birthday is its damn near impossible to say no to alcohol. this night rolled into friday night where i partied again with all my friends... saturday i finally got a night off at work... then sunday i found my friend needing a beer pong partner at a tournament at a bar downtown.... im such a sucker sometimes! and its hard to say no to free alcohol! i think my problem is that i dont regret drinking with my friends, making memories, and loving every minute of it! anywho i thought id let everyone know how my birthday turned into a weekend lol... i had fun and have no regrets... just wish i could have done without the calories :o) | |||

| I have to say that I love this post because it helps me to know that Im not the only one that cant say NO to alcohol cold turkey! I have cut down so much these last couple weeks... It has been hard, lots of temptations... but its almost more rewarding to see less lbs on the scale! So thanks to all my alcohol friends on here for making me feel not so alone! :o) | |||

| liljdoll: yah being DD can be rough when you are the sole sober survivor! i however find humor in drunk people, especially my friends. there is always some sort of comedy with my group. however i do always wish i was drinking with them! that is why i have cut down my amount of going out! BUT there is no harm in a few drinks... so for now I just find ways to keep the alcohol i do consume to a minimum and try to drink the alcohol with the lowest calories! :o) | |||

| I agree it is so much easier to say no I dont need those calories, or to really decide if eating something is worth it. I think its also easier to calculate the amount of calories im consuming in a day and to stay closer to my goal! Glad to hear someone else out there is benefiting from keeping track! and congrats on throwing out the ice cream! I have a weakness for rocky road myself! |

| Finally a post i can relate to! I just recently graduated from college, where we all know that no drinking goes on! :o) I came home to find my friends party just as hard here. We go out multiple nights a week. It is so hard to say no to any social event for me, I love meeting new people! It is also really hard to go and not drink, especially when they are FREE! (I work at the bar we go to most often!) I have recently moved from blue moon (170 calories a pop!) to bacardi and diet, but I still end up having a good share of calories! Im also trying to be the DD as much as possible, therefore Im still around the chaos but I cant drink, it helps me to not be "allowed" to drink sometimes! I have actually been doing really well the last week or so, but my birthday is just around the corner so Im sure I will be making up for all my missed cocktails! Good luck to all my fellow cocktail friends! Try being the DD now and then... no drinking and driving might save some calories now and then! | |||
| Weight Loss | please help!!!! im in a loosing battle!!! | Jan 11 2008 23:16 (UTC) |

| I recently started a new diet plan. It is really really helping me to write down everything I eat. Seeing what Im consuming holds me responsible, and allows me to see my caloric intake as well. As for me I eat 1000 calories a day, and I try to get 30 minutes of cardio 5 days a week, 2 of the 5 days I work in about 30 more minutes of abs and light weights (curls, lunges, crunches nothing too fancy!). I have been on this diet for 3 days, today is my 4th and I have already lost 6lbs. Everyone can say women need a certain amount of calories, but every woman is different. I used to be a college athlete, if I was still doing that 1000 would not be nearly enough, but for me its generally fine. Good luck and feel free to message me anytime! :o) | |||

just a side note, and i could be wrong too... but i was once told that walking and running the same distance will burn the same amount of calories, however you burn more at a faster: more running than walking (duh). maybe a more intense 30 minute cardio workout would suffice?! this wont necessarily help with the whole being too tired thing. but maybe you can tell yourself just 30 minutes and be able to push a little longer! who knows i just know i hate cardio, but i tend to do ok when i just push for a shorter period of time rather than taking my time forever! good luck! |

| hey im kinda new to this site so lets see if this works... there is some good and some bad to your post. yes you "messed up" but life will go on, you are human and it happens to everyone. good news is you know what you did, had you not felt any remorse then yes we (well you, essentially i feel if one wins we all have hope so maybe it is we, thats another post) would have a slight problem. the way i see it is that everyone is entitled to mess up now and again, shoot super models eat cheeseburgers now and then. they just have metabolism on their sides! long story short dont give up! if we as humans never messed up life would never change, we have to lose to know how good winning feels, and we have to mess up to know what is right from wrong. learn as you go and keep on going! :o) | |||
