| Health & Support | Please help, I'm spiraling into bingeing.... | May 06 2009 02:52 (UTC) |

Original Post by kathryth: I completely disagree. The best advice is to not calculate your calorie intake. Recovery is soooooooooooo hard, but even harder when you calculate and log and obsess over EVERY, SINGLE calorie (you know like counting the 3 calories in coffee or the 2 calories in sweet n' low). Just to put things in perspective calorie-wise. I am 5'3" and weighed 87 pounds at my lowest. I ate about 1700 calories a day, but exercised ALOT. I thought that if I ate any more than that or exercised any less I would BALOON up to like 150 pounds in a month..... Fast forward. I ate about 3500 calories a day for three months and went from 95 (my weight when I REALLY started recovery) to my current weight 105. So in three months I ate 3500 calories, did exactly 0 minutes of exercise and I STILL only gained about 10 pounds. A few extra hundred calories here and there is NOT going to make you gain a single pound - I promise. Accepting that notion is the first step to being able to start really helping yourself recover.

And go buy yourself a good pair of sneakers. There is nothing that makes running more horrible than the wrong pair of shoes. Good luck and have fun! |

Frozen banana? I don'tlike bananas, but there are people on here that swear by frozen bananas and claim they are a great substitute for ice cream.
Or smoothies - I use almond milk, frozen berries or fruit, a little bit of yogurt, & some ice. DELISH! |

Or ask them to give you 1/2 of a regular small size. i've done that and they've never even batted an eyelash. |

Make your own blizzard with low fat mint ice cream and the 100 calorie pack grasshopper cookies (or oreos). It will be way fewer calories and you'll still get the same thing basically. |

gi-jane I was going to cut back the few hundred calories by eating larger amounts of healthier foods because I ate total crap all day yesterday and tons of bad fats. And way too much saturated fat. I'm not doing it to punish myself I promise. Exercise was always my problem, not restricting, so if I really was going to punsh myself go out and run 10 miles to run it off (which I am NOT doing). And when I say I'm cutting back by a few hundred I just mean i'll actually stick to the 2000 I'm suypposed ot eat rather than eat 2300 or 2400 like I have been recently. Definitely no restricting is going on here but I really do appreciate the concern and advice : )

Oh and I did find this for the muffin. It is the kind that I had so I'm just pretending in my head that the info is correct and its really 460 (even though the logical part of me HIGHLY doubts the accuracy). http://www.thedailyplate.com/nutrition-calori es/food/safeway/gourmet-caramel-apple-cinnamo n-muffin
Now the cookie is tougher because I can find NOTHING about it anywhere and nothing that seems comparable. |

Original Post by bearvarine: bwahahahahahahaahahahahaha LMFAO. Have you seen Into the Blue? I think she's annoying because she makes horrible comments about her own ethnicity. Sorry but anyone that puts their own ethnic group is not cool in my book. She is gorgeous and does look healthy and have a great body though. I'll give her that. But she still sucks pretty bad. |

The tuna and salmon pouches (or cans) have tons of protein and omega 3 fatty acids and don't need refrigeration. You can add them to a salad or eat it on bread or with crackers. Other good protein sources are yogurt, nuts, Boca burgers (or other sot patties), beans, eggs or egg beaters, peanut butter (or other nut butters). There are so many easy & portable protein sources. |
