Smooth Move tea in the evening before bed. Let the bag sit in the water for 10 minutes and drink slowly. Do not make a habit of it but it does work when you are feeling a bit stuffed up.

Other things that really keep me regular are steel cut oats with 2 tbs ground flax seed for breakfast. I also take 1 tbs psyllium husk powder mixed with 8 oz of water/juice first thing in the morning followed by more water. Also try first thing in the morning hot water with a slice of lemon.

And last but not least I take a strong probiotic supplement every night before bed. All of these things keep me regular everyday. I hope you feel better soon! I know it's such an awful feeling to be bloated, but something will work you just gotta try them all out!

I've always wondered where to get the flaxseeds, or the psyllium husk powder... What's probiotic?

Oh, well, I was never strong willed enough to reach that goal, so I'll just take a baby step at a time. Besides, I have no time anyways... lol.

You're short like I am. We have longer plateau periods than taller people ... and a plateau period of no weight loss can last as long as 4 or 5 weeks. Also, you don't have much weight to lose. I have the same problem. Just hang loose and stick to the plan and it will come off, but it'll come off very slow. That's just how it is for us. The worst thing you can do is eat less for the sake of showing a different number on the scale. Use the measuring tape instead. It never lies and really is all that matters, IMO. It's my SIZE that matters, not a digital read on a machine.

Also, you are exercising a lot and building muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. Stop weighing yourself. Really!

That's good to know... Hopefully that's the case! Thanks tons!!

I have nothing to contribute -- but, could one person eat that ^ in one sitting and still have room for any cheesecake?

I used to be a high volume eater -- I ate fast and never knew when I was full so I ate way too much -- but I could not eat a pound of pasta plus 3 chicken breasts....

I eat super slow though... I'm always the last to finish! but I know for a FACT that the chicken pieces I had are not 3 seperate boneless chicken breasts....

This should be acurate. I'm about 130 lbs, 5'4, and I run at 5.5-6 mph, and I burn about 550-650 cal/hour. The incline adds to it even more!

I love the smell of cold winter weather after fresh snow on a feburary morning. It reminds me of when I was 6 in China and I would walk to school every morning and just look at the falling snow.

Others are like Bounce dryer sheets, my mom's cooking, and Asian bakery smells bring back memories, all different of course! XD

Weight Loss After dark eating - CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME? Nov 28 2007

One thing that helped me, this might be different for you, is to snack on healthy foods and eat slowly. This sounds simple but I found, especially the slow part, really hard. For example, other than dinner (which is always veggies), I only eat fruit when I snack in the evening. So for example, when I had some grapes today, I first counted (NOT estimate) 20 grapes, placed them into a small bowl so it seems like a lot, and took about 3 bites per grape. I took the time to slowly chew each bite and then only took the second bite when I have swallowed the first. After finishing one grape, I would pause for a second, mostly because I don't eat in front of the TV/doing nothing and thus I needed to continue whatever I was doing(in this case it was homework), and sometimes when I'm focused I forgot I even had food right next to me! This type of controlled eating doesn't make me feel guilty when I reach for another 20 grapes an hour later.

Another important thing is to really learn to tell yourself NO when you want to snack on junky foods. For me, my mom eats whatever she wants and still is skinnier than me, and she loves to eat cookies and sweets and such, so they are always around in the kitchen. But I have trained myself to ignore them and only focus on my fruits. Today I even counted my grapes infront of my mom's 5 lb container of Danish shortbread cookies, MY FAVORITE type for as long as I can remember.

However, if switching to fruit is too dramatic for you, you can start with healthier, but just as sweet snacks, such as fat free light yogurt. My mom comes home late so I eat dinner pretty late (still haven't eaten and it's past 10 pm), but I've never had a problem with eating late because my mom never makes anything other than veggies for dinner. Eating healthy is a much more important focus.

I hope that helped! ^^ Good luck!!

Motivation How do you find motivation? Nov 28 2007
03:52 (UTC)

My motivations come from

1) looking at pictures of myself when I was 12... I was skinny back then and, not gonna lie, had great legs!!

2) anything with fashion, let it be magazines (my fav is ELLE and Lucky), models(Morgane Dubléd!), or clothing (Juicy Couture and Victoria's Secret PINK are my reasons for living), I find that I'm more renewed in my resolution to lose weight after watching VS fashion shows than anything!
