Yeah, I ended up calling a lactation specialist and she said that breasts will go trhough all sorts of changes--increase/decrease in size, change shape...etc. I fall out of a C cup too now, and I started at barely a B. Thanks for the response. |

| Pregnancy & Parenting | Do any of you run while pregnant? | Jun 04 2008 02:47 (UTC) |

Sorry to bust into the conversation, but I feel some commonalities. I am a runner too. Mostly long distances, but since I was 10 weeks, I couldn't do it comfortably. I have resorted to elliptical, stairmaster, treadclimber (awesome), weight-lifting, and long walks with weights on the weekends. Sometimes, with my weekend walks I get like a side stitch...only its near my uterus. I figure its round ligament pain. Not sure. I miss running terribly though and can't wait until I can do it again with a stroller. My goal is to run a marathon before the one year birthday too! Thanks for the chat. |

You got it. I was worried that the anesthesia had entered his semen and could harm the fetus. Thank you. |

ekp, I have always been irregular, and I was not ovulating, so I started on Clomid. While on my second doseage, I was diagnosed with PCOS so I started on Metformin. I was on Metformin for about a month-1.5 months and I did my third and final phase of Clomid when I got pregnant. As far as I know (unless one is hiding), I am carrying one baby. Good luck. |

Smathless, I have no words of advice, only words of empathy. I feel the same way. I know that if I purge I can lose weight and so I always feel on the verge of resorting to that. Becuase when I eat well I gain weight and it seems like the weight gain will never stop. I have been bulimic for about 12 years now and also more in recovery for the past 3. Like I said, I have no advice; I can only tell you that I know your frustration. |

| Pregnancy & Parenting | Weight lifting/working out during pregnancy?! | Apr 07 2008 05:38 (UTC) |

Undertherainbow...congrats! I am 15 weeks now and I have been lifting weights throughout. I am NOT a doctor, but I did ask the Nurse practitioner and she said it was fine as long as I don't lift to the point where I have to grunt and struggle out my rep. So, I limit my weightlifting to lighter weights, higher reps and I listen to my body so I don't overdo it. There have been times when I think I have done too much. Usually by the end of my workout I am just completely spent and just want to sleep right where I am. So, I am extra careful now. I also don't do exercises that require me to lay flat on my back (as you listed). Even though I am not quite at the 4 months mark, I felt that I may as well asjust my regimen sooner rather than later. I think the most important thing is just listening (I mean really listening to your body) and remembering that you are carrying a life. Anyway, hope this helps. Good luck! Congrats again. |

Sunquest. I was just there. I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks too, but I was so scared to tell anyone for fear of miscarriage. Those 8 weeks, seemed to take forever, but I was glad I waited. It was time for my husband and I to take it all in and celebrate "just the two of us" without any suggestions and comments from others. Congratulations. Once I hit the end of my first trimester I looked back and it was as if the time had flown by. |

Well, I know I am joining in late to this group, but I was hoping there was still enough ooomph to keep it going. I am about 5'6 and 170 lbs. Blah. I guess I am just looking for some support. I workout all the time, but just can't seem to shake the weight. You know sometimes you get in that rhythm of losing weight? I can't seem to start the rhythm. Any ideas? |

Cowcow, I have the same problem. I am a recovering bulimic and I am already about 15-20 lbs overweight. I eat mainly healthy foods (no fried foods, lots of fruits and vegetables...), but I always overeat even when I am not hungry. It makes me deeply depressed. I don't know why I eat when I am already full. And I don't keep junk food in the house, but if I do happen to buy ice cream or bake for guests, once they leave I overeat the dessert for the next couple of nights. And if I go out to eat, I eat my whole plate...not just what fills me up. Why do we do this? |

I posted this on another thread just a few days ago. I like to make fried rice. I put sesame or olive oil into my wok and saute onions and garlic. The I add Bok Choy, carrots, (any other veggies you like), and some pineapple. Next, I put in the cooked brown rice. After a minute or so, I make a whole in the rice and add some eggs. I let it cook for a bit (you can cook the egg seperatly if you feel better about it), mix it all around and keep cooking. Finally, I add some soy sauce and Voila! Its delicious. |

I love making fried rice in my wok. I use olive oil, saute onions and garlic in it, then throw in some veggies (I like Bok Choy, spinach, carrots, whatever you like). Then, I add some cooked brown rice. After a couple of minutes I make a whole in the center of the wok and cook a couple eggs in it. I mix it all up and add some soy sauce. Mmmm...I am making some tonight. |

I think the odds are against me in trying not to hit the 200 mark, but I am going to work extremely hard to avoid it. Once again, I hate the numbers game, but once they are in my head, they seem to stick. At this point, I do not have an increased appetite, and I would love for it to stay that way, but I am sure that won't be the case. In the end, we all just have to remember that the end goal is a healthy baby. |

All of the articles and websites I have read suggest a weight gain of only 25 pounds; but everyone I talk to gains at least 30, some as much as 60. In addition, for people like me who started out a bit overweight (I was about 10-15 pounds over a healthy BMI), i have read that I should only gain 15-25 pounds. I hate the numbers game, but once I see the number, I am stuck to it. I have gained 3-4 pounds and I am in my 12th week. I guess I am just most fearful that when my nausea subsides, I am just going to eat out of control and gain a ton of weight. Right now I feel in control, but I just don't know what I am about to embark upon. Thanks for the help. My main concern is my baby, but I believe that being overweight and eating unhealthily will have an effect on my child. |

| Cecilyb, I just found out that I am pregnant with our first. I should be about 4 weeks along now. I am ecstatic. I am only nervous becuase I have only had a urine test. I have tested positive 4 times at 4 different times of day (yes, I am that neurotic--not really, I was just going through fertility treatments becuase I have wanted to be a mom for so long). Anyway, I am just worried that maybe they were falsepositives. I know that sounds ridiculous. There is just nothing in this world that I want more. I can't wait to tell the family, but I want to wait until its safe. I hear most people wait until they are through the first trimester. Any suggestions??? | |||
