Original Post by frokusblakah: Lmao Too funny. I do that too when I play ddr! lol My mom just bought a wii fit but, in her shape -and not really wanting workout- it was too much like exercise and not much fun. She gave me her fit after a week and my family has really enjoyed it. The kidos and I run races and have been doing yoga and strength training mostly. I'm in fairly ok shape and it it's funny how when I started shifting my weight forward to become more balanced, it kicked my *SS! My calves (which were pretty defined to start with) ended up feeling like they were 20 lb heavier *each* than when I went bed!

| Vegetarian | Portabello Mushroom Burgers??? | Sep 18 2009 20:36 (UTC) |
|
Here is the only mushroom burger I've ever seen that sounded good enough to try. if that link doesn't work it's "grilled portobella mushroom burgers" on www.vegetariantimes.com/recipes they do some special prep. poking holes in the mushrooms to help drink up the marinade which I thought was kind of a cool idea. I bet that would work with any marinade. =) |

Now it's been addressed. It personally made me feel better that someone address what got us here. Now can really do something to change it. Does it not blow your mind that a bank says they don't keep track how the bank is spending that money? I love the clips I've been watching today of that CEO being grilled on all the issues. Now can they end the seedy investing? and help real people? I big Capuno 2 thumbs WAY ! Now let that guy make some regulation for banks! |

Josie has the very valid thought. If you were using the wii fit on carpet your scale won't work right.

Thanks ladies. replacing shortening in pastries is the tough one. I'm wondering if "Calorie Commando" a long time pastry chef now healthy cook has some good recipes switching out shortening for a healthier fat? coconut oil, canola etc? My wondering has gone on long enough I think I'll have to get a copy of diet book by Dr. Oz for the recipes if nothing else. lol

One thing I eat often is a rough cut tuna salad (celery, onion, pickles w/ light mayo) and a few wheat thins. tuna on top of hearty green salad with some Asian dressing or half a sandwich with light mayo no cheese lots of veggies and can of light progresso soup Or chopped chicken breast, canned mandarin orange slices on top of green salad with light poppy seed dressing (edited typo) |

You might play with time laps photography? Life in fast forward? You can set your camera to take a photo every hr for 2 weeks and you'll have about a 2 min. long video at 15 frame a sec. (I think those numbers are right?) the liked all your ideas. I'm just tossing out ideas. I like the theme of life. Recently I was helping my DH with idea for logo and I got really attached to idea of human element blended with natural elements. I love hands of people in different jobs as thought just tossed out there. Old people hands, baby hands, dirty manual labors hands with just enough background behind the hands that can general see what they do. Ok I could ramble for hrs. lol Let me know what you decide. | Health & Support | Please give me some input about my night time (binge?) eating | Nov 09 2008 02:41 (UTC) |

You might think about drinking more water before you eat dinner, slowing down a little when you eat, and as others have mentioned eating more often. I eat at night sometimes out of boredom so, if I can just do something to keep my mind busy until I go to bed then I won't be so tempted to sneek in to the kitchen for an aditional snack. It's my feeling that you don't make your meals any bigger just more of them and more often. good luck

I've heard the most ugly unrealistic claims from my family who LOVE fox news. But the problem is you can't just get your news from one source and then be totally bind to EVERYTHING ELSE?! I'm really hopeful. I think OBama will bring really good thing that Mc Cain really couldn't bring to the office. Seriously I think the world will see use as a bit more progressive by the world stage after SO many years of Bush in office.

astralhippy- aka- Sue -You took my next idea right out of my head and THEN made it even better!!!lol I was thinking a good defense to eating unhealthy on such a tempting night is to be good and full on the good stuff. How charming the to serve a nice hot soups in a pumpkin shell. It would a great time to take the party outside with hot soup. How cozy and affordable? LOVE IT~! cellophane_star- Oh gosh that hummus is such a cute idea! thanks so much. I think I prefer that to my cheese ball idea. (lol No pun intended) It's over all healthier and a bit more trendy. Thanks again. |

Oh here's a recipe that I think might be good but haven't tried yet. It has a bit of an asian flare to it. Bone-Crunching Meatballs 1 Can sliced water chestnuts (cut into 60 halves) 1 egg lightly beaten 3 T soy sauce 1/2 C. chopped green onion 1/5 C. bread crumbs 2 T cilantro minced 1 1/2 tsp. ginger minced 1 tsp. garlic minced 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 1/2 lbs lean ground turkey
mix all ingreidents expect the chestnuts together blending well then portion into 60 balls and place a into each balls.(cookie scoops work well for this job.) Then sautee the meatballs in a little bit of whatever oil you like (making sure not to over crowd.) I like to rolls my meatballs often to make sure they keeps a nice round shape until nice and brown then bake at 350 degrees for about 15 min. just make extra sure they are really well cooked. Serve with plum sauce. |

One thing that is a pretty good idea is knowing your portions before hand and knowing the pitt falls. The thai restaurant I go to asks "white or brown rice" if you have the option go for the brown rice. It's a little more nutrition for the cal. buck. I usually get grilled salmon curry where we eat. It comes with steamed broccoli and I just don't try and get clear every drop of cream sauce off my plate. You could ask the waiter if you can substitute rice also for some veggies. You'll feel alot fuller in the long run.

nope and nope. The medicine I'm taking right now is an antibiotic. I looked up extreme thirst online and the only things I was finding was diabetic related results. Kind of odd finding since I've already lost a lot of weight and I don't have a family history but, it still happens? I'll keep a eye out for symptoms and read up some more. Thanks for the replies. |

it's funny because I posted this idea in an oatmeal forum but, it works here too. A couple weeks ago I started putting apple, walnuts, cinnamon, raisins maybe? , low fat milk, sweetener and little bit of butter in some prepared steel cut oats. YUM! it great with banana and blue berries too. It's like a bowl of hot satisfying bowl of heaven. |
