| The Lounge | Odd Habits? How does he still like me?! | May 04 2009 19:24 (UTC) |

i don't think he was aroused by it. I think he just was in a weird mood and needed to get his mind off stuff- and once he realized that it didn't gross him out either he could relax. He's been single for 7 years- He spent college being a ladies man and had the time of his life. He's realizing its time to settle down...and we were talking about it, and he said that he thinks the reason he's in the situation hes in right now (quitting work, then realizing he needs a job) was because it gave him an opportunity to find me :) which i love. I think his whole picking thing was just him opening up to me; and showing me he likes me the way i am. he specifically said-"Oddly enough, i'm not grossed out right now. With anyone else i would be." |

if you meet a loner, no matter what they tell you, it's not because they enjoy solitude. it's because they have tried to blend into the world before, and people continue to disappoint them.

wow, thanks for all the responses, guys! in all honesty, i'm against the resolution. I agree with the points made, but i was assigned the topic for my course and i wanted to get some feedback. i am not allowed to choose which side im on, i'm assigned to agree with that statement.
i just got home from the course, and it seems i was misinformed about the resolution. It was 2.5 instead of 3.5, but i suppose the information provided is still similar. thanks for everyones input! |

amazing. thank you! what form of communication should i do this with? i dont want to call him all the way out to my part of town for it..but text messages are totally lame. then again, most of our conversation is done that way...so im thinking maybe it might be ok? i dont know! but your answer would work perfectly. |

coffincritter: i agree that it is a bit disheartening to hear that you're lame, but the author really doesn't do that. he points out consistantly through the book that its not YOUR fault hes not into you, he just happens to be a douche nozzle. which i think is sometimes a bit overboard, but we need to hear it sometimes! its very positive in the female's light, i just think that in some places it's a little harsh on the guys. nobody can be perfect ALL the time...however, the do allow for a miniscule margin of error on the man's part... |

i totally agree! it's crazy...ive made all of these excuses for a guy at some point in time. and its funny...the day i finish reading the book, im texting this guy im dating, and i ask him to call me later. he responds with "i really need to study..." and i was like..OUCH. but then i get a text two seconds later saying "nevermind. i'll call you as soon as i get home. will you be awake?" hooray for keepers <3 |

In my opinion, everything that came out of her mouth was completely awkward, and even worse was her body language. She was completely uncomfortable and it definitely showed. |

wow, that was really helpful! thank you so much. so when do i stop being a "teen"? and by your logic, does that mean i should consume the same amount of calories as say, a 14 year old? because it doesnt really make sense to me...i stopped growing when i was like, 16. |

| The Lounge | the worst boyfriend or girlfriend you've ever had? | Oct 04 2008 05:06 (UTC) |

he was my first real boyfriend...i had never been in a serious relationship and when i met chad, i fell head over heels but i was nervous about being in a relationship. my pastor and i were very close and he challenged me to determine whether this guy was right for me by seeing if he would go 6 months without kissing me. well, we lasted six months, we began to kiss and fool around. but about six months after that, (a year into our relationship) he started to get violent and depressed. he took it out on me, hitting me and yelling at me when i didnt fool around with him. he was pretty much suicidal, and he was into cutting himself, and got me into it too...he made ME cut him. and i let him cut me too. (i was in 8th grade-freshman year at the time, easily peer pressured). six months after THAT, i got fed up and told him to F--- off. it broke my heart into a million pieces, but i learned from it, and i gained so much respect for myself in the process.
the love of my life...we broke up two years ago...took me to mcdonalds on our six month "anniversary" and didnt have his wallet. i had 4 bucks with me...he ordered two double cheeseburgers and a drink off the dollar menu. i had a small yogurt parfait. (do'h) his offense was forgiveable...i let him make it up to me, but then he dumped me on our year anniversary...for drinking because he ditched me for a concert. i was too drunk to realize he dumped me, and i left for mexico the next day not knowing we were over...when i came home, he had a new girlfriend.
boy, i sure know how to pick 'em... |

its not that they're fighting me on it, im sure they would allow me to go, i'm very responsible, i work very hard, and they wouldnt refuse anything. i wouldnt miss payments, and they know it, i work as much as physically possible for my time constraints and i save every penny i make. its just hard because my mom feels inadequate because im so good at saving and shes struggling to make any money at all. |

wow, guys. thanks so much for all your feedback. im really not worried about the homesick thing..im barely home as it is, and its really not a factor; my education is so important to me. i DID forget about how expensive the food is...but honestly SF is extremely expensive too. im going to keep thinking about it, but i really want my mom to ultimately leave it up to me, and i need some way to explain to her that im really considering this. |

pumpkin spice lattes from starbucks. my junior year of high school i had to go whale watching for a biology class. background info: i havent thrown up since i was 8 years old before this day...also on a whalewatching trip. SO i decided to play it safe, i wouldnt eat breakfast. heard somewhere that pumpkin settles your stomach...so i picked up a nice little latte. as soon as the boat left the dock, i had to lie down...it sucked. ended up falling asleep, and woke up surrounded by my orange puke. it was awful. luckily those are the only two times i can even remember throwing up in my life :) now that it's pumpkin spice season again, and i now WORK at starbucks, my stomach still gets a little tipsy when i smell/make it. i couldn't ever drink one again!
edit to add: i LOST points off my grade for throwing up on board! :( so lame... |
