I know this is probably not what you want to hear, but I have to tell you. Don't buy a dress and try to work into it. Yea I know that when you are able to fit into it it will be that much sweeter, but it doesn't work. I was in the same situation last year for my senior prom. I found a dress that I loved in January...my prom was late April. It was a little too small in the chest area. I was planning on working my way into it. I live in Iowa, did not access to a gym and didn't have any exercise equipment at home. I went out every night in the cold and walked for 45 minutes to an hour. I watched what I ate and I did lose weight. I found some weights at home and did some weight training. 2 weeks before prom, my dress almost fit. there was about 2 inches that I couldn't get zipped. So two weeks before my senior prom I was making a mad dash everywhere trying to find a dress that would fit. Notice that I said fit, not loved. At that point I was just looking for something that would fit me. I was lucky and was able to find a dress that fit, and I ended up really loving. I found this dress 4 days before prom. So, I think you should either try to find another dress or take it in to get it altered. The last thing you want on prom night is to be in a dress that you don't love, one that just fits you, or to be in a dress that doesn't fit you right and you are uncomfortable all night. Have fun at prom!!!! And remember, it is one night out of your life, not something worth completly stressing yourself out about! |

| Yep you're right everyone is different. I think that what they were getting at is if most women start a weight training program, they are not going to get huge muscles. So often I hear girls saying that they don't want to do weights because they don't want to look like a linebacker. Odds are, they will tone up and build lean muscle, not big biceps. | |||

| I always hear people asking how they can turn their fat into muscle. When I tell them that muscle and fat are two completly differnt cells and the only way to lose weight and gain muscle is to burn fat and build muscle! | |||

I don't diet, but here are a few reasons why I started eating better and working out more and losing weight. Seeing my graduation pictures, and thinking, I am not that big! Seeing pictures from past christmas's and not seeing any improvement. Not having any self confidance. |

| it sounds pretty harsh, but good luck. Just watch what you swap for the fries. The sauteed mushrooms onions and peppers could be pretty high in fat. Maybe once in a while you can make homeade french fries that are baked, that way they will be less of a forbidden fruit. | |||

| My mom. She has lost 75 lbs since Jan 1st of last year, and whenever I am tempted to get something unhealthy she just reminds me that mentally I may want it, but my body doesn't. It really helps, and she is so supportive. She is such an inspiration to me. | |||

The fact that I am fitting into jeans I didn't know I had rocks. My first semester in college 4.0 gpa rocks. My clothes getting too big for me rocks. Losing another 7 lbs since starting cc rocks. Losing a total of 37 lbs since may rocks. Kicking the tredmills' ass last night rocks. Getting to see Bon Jovi in April rocks. Being happy and proud of myself rocks. I ROCK! |

| I think not caring. Before I would go to McDonalds, order whatever I wanted and just eat it. I didn't realize that when I did that I was getting close to my daily calorie target in one meal. I now know how much damage I was doing to my body, so I don't miss the food that I was eating, but I do miss being able to go somewhere order whatever and just eat it. Not having to do research before and see if I can have it. Another thing, my mom and I used to go to quizno's all the time. We had assumed that it was healthy. Then I went to log what I had eaten and had consumed more that 900 calories in one sandwich (a regular not a large!). I miss not being affected by my choices. I am going to olive garden this weekend with a friend to celebrate the end of finals, and I am going to get what I want (garlic Tuscan chicken) but will only eat half there. I won't let weight loss rule my life, but I sure as hell am not going to be fat anymore! | |||

I too am intersted in nutrition, I plan on becoming a nutritionist! I live in Iowa and am looking at a few colleges in Iowa. Right now my best bet is Iowa State(one of the best in the nation when it comes to Nutrition). I am currently attending a community college to get my gen eds done. I am hoping to find a college that has a good nutrition program. You see, I am a hawkeye, and I really don't want to have to go to cyclone country. The Iowa-Iowa State rivarly is famous....and messy, cities become ghost towns when Iowa and Iowa State play eachother for the cyhawk trophy every year in Football! |

| I friended you too! How did you do yesterday? I ended up with a B+ nutrition wise, and I did a good workout although it was short (30 minutes, 8 minute power walking 2 minute sprints.) I got a shot yesterday and now I am feeling crappy so I doubt I will get a workout in. Hope you have a great day! | |||
