I do agree with Jen - the shape of your stomach is greatly determined by what you eat, but I do ab exercises almost everyday and I am pretty proud of my abs right now - check out my recent post to my gallery :) |

Hey ladies, I am back!! Sorry it has been so long, last time I checked in (about 4 wks) ago, I was at my goal of 125. I am now back up to 126.5, but determined to get back down to my goal weight by end of July for my reunion. Are we still doing Wednesday weigh-ins? Good to be back |

Hello Ladies, It has been a while since I logged on, but I lost my internet connection at home and I am too cheap to pay for it, so today is the first day that I have logged on in several weeks from an internet cafe. I hope you are all doing well! I miss logging on everyday and seeing the progress of all you ladies. Well, I just wanted to also let you know that I have been keeping up with my diet and exercise. Even though things have been a little hectic, I weighed in at 125 today!!! I can't believe it, I finally reached my goal and I think I could lose more. So, my previous goal was to get to 125 by July for my 10 year reunion, but I am going to modify and say 123 by July. I will check in when I can and let you know of my progress as well as check in your progress. It's good to be back :) |

simi - that is so awesome - kudos to you! burnyh - great bikini pic, i agree w/ the other ladies - no visible muffin top :) saucie - it's great when other people notice alll your hard work. I mean, I feel like I'm making a difference with my working out but I don't really believe it until I receive a compliment from someone else. It makes me want to get right back in the gym as soon as possible because I know it is working. margo - biggest loser finale tomorrow - i am super excited!!! I am also keeping my fingers crossed that you will when your bl bet :) so, about two weeks ago I was teetering above my goal weight (125) and I think I got a little "cocky" and thought oh i can eat whatever cuz i lost weight and I'm thin now. Unfortunately, I learned I am not invincible and I am once again fighting with the scale to get close to that number again. so, i guess i just am a little disappointed in myself for slacking with my diet. so balls to the wall ladies - especially since i have plans to pranch around in a bikini next month in vegas - no squishy wanted :)

wonderswhy - I think that your goal of 129 is totally attainable by May 9th. If you are having a probably with sweets than you just need to pick it up at the gym. You can always try to balance things out between gym and diet. But I do have faith that you can get to the goal and your pic is hot :) margo - so sorry to hear your are feeling sickey. When I had my bout of a brochial infection a few weeks ago, I was so gung ho about keeping my weight loss going that I went to the gym throughout my sickness. I am not sure if that was the best thing, but I didn't have to worry about "climbing back up" to where I was at when I got sick. I hope you start feeling better. burnyh - I completely agree with you and don't want to constantly watch what I eat and work out like a banshee, but unfortunately to stay thin I have to be willing to change my lifestyle i.e. eat healthy and workout and it's not so bad, I do feel much better now than when I was eating crappy and not working out so much. emily - Welcome! jen - congrats on all you have achieved and enlarging your fitness circle! hdubs - no worries, sometimes you just need a break. Do you work out with your fiance? Seems like he would be a good workout partner... |

Started (Jan 08): 131 Last week: 126.3 This week: 127.3(a little bit of a gain, but I know it is due to poor diet choses over past two weeks). I was soooo close to my goal and I know I can get right back to it, just need to control my cravings - damn cherry poptarts (love those frickin things) wonderswhy - I don't own a scale at my home, I only weigh myself at the gym. This is good motivation for me to get to the gym and see how I am doing. I would be too obsessed with having a scale at home. simi- i hope you start feeling better. I work in an office and colds/flus float around non-stop there, so with the first sign of a cold I load up on vitamin C and emergen-c - seems to work for me morisht - i do feel crappy on my cheat days, I try to remember that I do not need to get crazy with the junk food on my these days, but just allow myself a little something special. I also like to work out a little harder on these days too, so I can still feel good about my progress. Also, congrats on the 2 inch loss - it is always so motivating to see progress, makes you want to work that much harder! kathleen - wow! congrats on the weight loss! |

morisht - I am in the same boat with you with the calves. My mom has very big, muscular calves and I inherited them from her. I am not complaining though, I have learned to embrace them and the guys seem to love them. I get tons of compliments, but I do wish I could wear the knee-high boots as well! blackned_wings - congrats on your loss! It is such an exhilarating feeling to see the numbers go down on the scale and see that your hard work is paying off. |

Whoo hoo - I ran three miles in 29 mins without stopping today!! Jen- thanks for the advice on lower abs, I like the one you suggested with laying on bench and leg lifting w/ weight between ankles - i'll try :) glaserpu - i eat around 1500-1600 cals a day on average burnyh - congrats on your weight loss, I am sure you can reach your goal by June - post some of those bikini pics so we can see your progress!

Happy Hump Day Ladies! I regret to inform you that I will not be participating in this weeks weigh in. I have had a bronchial infection for the past three weeks now and the stubborn person that I am I kept going to the gym because I was so excited about my results (weight loss, muscle definition, etc). Well, that didn't make my doctor too happy and she DEMANDED that I take a few days off from the gym, so.....I haven't been since Sunday (3 days off should be good right???) and therefore haven't weighed myself since Sunday. But I am happy to report that on Sunday I weighed in at 125.7 (down from 127.3 last week)- whoo hoo! I am sure that I have gained a little since then, due to lack of physical activity, increase in calories (comfort foods :(), and my monthly visitor. But nonetheless, I feel almost 100% better and plan to get back on track tomorrow.... Jen - I like your "justification". I am leaning towards the same idea with my eating of comfort foods when I was sick :) Congrats on getting your 4-pack back!! Question - how the heck do you get those bottom abs to have definition?? I also recently have seen my 4-pack re-emerge, but can't seem to get any definition on the lower abs. Any suggestions of particular exercises? New Ladies to the Forum - WELCOME! This is a great place to share ideas, get encouragement and learn quite a few things about health and fitness. I joined this forum back in Jan 08 at 130 lbs. I was very frustrated because I seemed to be at this weight forever and couldn't get my weight to even budge towards my 125 lbs goal. Just from the daily motivation from these ladies and incorporating their ideas/suggestions into my daily diet and workouts I finally started to see the scale dropping!!! I am so happy I joined this group and I swear that this forum is the reason I am so close to my goal!!! |

Wow, Jen thank you for the information. I am pretty much following your 4 key points to a tee already (because of all the awesome advice you have already given :)) besides the upping my weights/reps with each visit. I also work one body part a week, but I haven't been upping the weights or reps each time. I am glad you pointed this out. I am going to incorporate this into my workouts and hopefully start seeing that awesome definition that I have been striving for! Thank you! |

Simi - I am going to reevalute my goals when I do reach 125. I originally had a goal of 120, but was getting frustrated when I was not seeing results, so I decided to change my goal to something a little more attainalbe. I am really shocked that this weight loss thing is finally working for me - like i mentioned before, I really believe it is because I have all of you as an awesome support system. Ladies, I am proud to announce a new low for me!!!!! This week: 126.7!!! Last week: 127 I am so excited I don't know the last time I weighed less than 127. This is a great feeling. I feel that I could not have done it without the inspiration and help of all of you. My goal is sooo close (125). I got off the scale today and had the biggest grin on my face. All I could think about was racing home from the gym so I could post my success. Whoo hoo!!! |

Heather - 123.4!!!! That is awesome. I was reading your bio and you have come a long way from 150 back in July last year! Congrats! I agree with Brianne, I would like to know what your diet and exercise plan is because your results are great. Mango - Welcome. That's great that you are still in good shape and care about your health and physique. I think it is no problem at all that you want to lose the "vanity" weight. I think you will find some great inspiration on this forum. Good luck! simi- a note on your throwing up situation after two beers. I am thinking you must have also ate something bad or....dare I say... your preggers. I'm not sure if tolerance can change due to diet changes, but I notice that when I am focused on eating healthier I try to eliminate as much alcohol as possible then when I do go out with friends and throw some back I am affected much sooner than I used to be and have to watch how much I drink. greta - congrats on your news! Will this be your first? Of course you can stay on this forum, I want to hear how things are going!

Wow! So many posts in the past few days and such good news from everyone! Simi - CONGRATULATIONS! It's amazing how those protein breakfasts can make a difference. As far as the eliptical problem - I use that machine at least 4 times a week and at first, I was getting strange cramps/sore muscles on only one side and I figured it is because the sore side is compensating for the unsore side. So, in other words, you are putting more pressure on the sore side when working out. To correct this, I really focus on my food position and switch between grabbing the arm moving thingees (technical term :)) and keeping my arms stationary to focus on how my body is moving. Hope that helps a little... greta - enjoy your trip to Vegas! I used to live there a couple years ago and I go back often because I LUV it. Just remember - acoholic drinks add to your calorie count (I often space that fact when I am partying and then am rudely reminded when I get back home and step on the scale) Heather - congrats on fitting into the suit! That is one of the best things about losing weight is fitting into those clothes that have just been sitting in the closet waiting. Margo - Great job on politely declining the offer of sweets at the office. That happens to be one of my weaknesses and you have given me encouragement that I can just say no as well :) Burnyh - I agree with Jen, can you use these walking days as off days and still hit up the gym other days for more strenous workouts? Jen - awesome on the pullups and dips - practice makes perfect - you will get to five pullups in no time! Brianne - congrats on your loss! I am also trying to consume more water so I can kick out the sodium and try to keep my weight from bouncing around lately. Whew, that was lot of catching up. I hope to hear just as much good news on next weeks weigh in as well!

Brianne - yes, it's Jen or Jennifer, just not Jenny :) Sounds like a great trip, but a little too cold for me too. I am very jealous that you live in HI. I used to live in Vegas and miss the heat! Jen - my weight has been yoyoing like crazy for the past two weeks between 130.5 and 127. I haven't changed my eating habits. I am working out a teensy more than normal, but I don't understand why I am bouncing all over the place. I get so excited to see that 127, but discouraged to see the 130 or higher a day or two later. What gives? Any ideas or suggestions? |

leelee and jen - Congrats on your weight loss and reaching your goals! This weeks weigh in for me is 130.5. Last week was 130.6. I bounced all over the place this week - 127.5, 127, 129 and back up to 130 - grrrrr. It is TTOM, so I am hoping that by mid-week next week I will be back down. I will keep my fingers crossed and keep hitting the gym. Till next week..... |
