The beginning is the hardest, I think.  Letting go of the soda, eating out, junk food and the emotional eating, etc.  Also, getting past the beginning pangs of hunger while the body adjusts.  And, of course, not giving up!

After #3 my metabolism did a 180.  I used to be able to lose weight as needed with very little effort.  Not anymore.  Now I'm carrying around at least 37 extra lbs.  ideally I would love to lose closer to 47 but you have to start somewhere.

It's good to know I'm not alone! :)

Thanks!  That helps a lot!

Do you think it's best to keep it on light activity or sedentary and then add in any activities I do?  And does sedentary assume any automatic calories burning?

I'm also I new member and mom of three. I'm 27 and my kids are 6, 5 and 3. I have successfully gained .5 lbs in my first week. :) Right now I'm finding my biggest challenge to be meeting the necessary calorie limitations to lose at least 37 lbs. The recommendation was 1250 calories a day and although I'm getting closer I was eating more than double that in a day before I started the program. I hope that the accountability will help!

I'm still confused.  If I put "light activity" because that best describes my activity level then it automatically assumes a certain amount are being used?  And then what activities should I be logging if some are automatically accounted for?  And how do these numbers help me in losing weight?
