I got where I was the same way.. around 1800 cals a day (didn't really reaslize how much) I ate more than my friends but was still loseing. You definatly have the right attitude... and congratulations on being healthy again. Try intuitive eating ( when your hungry... listen to your body) Now that you have your hormones back (your LADY hormones! haha) some weight should go to your chest and probably butt... more "feminine" areas. This is also dependent on your genteics, etc... but I think you'll have a girly shape soon especially if you add a couple more pounds. If you gain more, nothing bad is going to happen. I think a couple more pounds would give you a nice "cushion" (nothing dirty meant by thattt!!!) to fall back on if you were to get sick (stomach virus, etc) so you're sure you'll be out of the danger zone. Good luck! |

Hi everyone... I've had IBS-A for about 5 years, since I was 12 and we went through everything to findout what it was, even did gluten free diets and tons of medical tests. I have finally figured out something that sort've works for me most of the time... I also have GERD... I take nexium or double prilosec for that Breakfast- Decaf green tea, oatmeal or oatbran with "mushy fruit" like bannana, papaya, mango, mellon, etc... strawberries are also usually fine... Peanut butter, and my newest discovery:chia seeds! they don't upset me! Lunch- Baby spinach salad with turkey and lowfat dressing (hummus mixed with lite italian, or something of that sort) , cooked (grilled) mushrooms and sundried tomatos, Clif kids bar, Not the pb one... and a piece of less mushy, but still kind've mushy fruit- aka mellon, pineapple, apple w.o skin, or strawberries Snack- hummus (low fat made with chickpeas and grilled artichokes, garlic and spices, SOME tahini) on triscuts with tomatoe paste PB2 powdered peanut butter mixed with soy pudding or soy yougurt, layered with a mild cereal- oat baced work best, not too high in fiber, not corn based... Dinner- lean protein (salmon, tilapia, perch, swai, chicken breast, turkey breast, occasionally pork tenderloin) with lots of fresh herbs, wilted baby spinach and potaoto or sweet potato either steamed, boiled, or baked Desert- SMALL! 1/4 c. pudding with a few black berries Its really been working for the past couple weeks. Mine is super stress induced. I'm a runner... I get sick durring before and after practice sometimes. It's awful! I don't know what to do... Immodium causes C... Sometimes durring a race I come close to sprinting off the track to a bathroom. Ahh! The gastro doc said to try pepto bismol b4 races... Good luck to everyone... PS- tea ideas? Chamamile is blahhh,, I eat it if I have to, peppermint upsets The GERD. What else is calming? |

Soo today I walked into school in a good mood, after my 850 calorie breakfast. I was wearing shorts, and a girl that works at the same place as me came up to me. I don't even know her... "Oh my God, you're so skinny!" Wow, what a breakthru, I haven't heard that in a while... Me- "I know. I hate it!" Her- "You look so grossly unhealthy" Me- STUNNED "Well you do."
I continued down the hall when I saw my guy friend and I was PISSED. He goes "Aww, you look so cute when you're mad." FINE- THAT MEANS I'm CUTE- CUTE PEOPLE DON"T LOOK GROSS. SO I WENT HOME. BEEYOTCH!!! Keep in mind I've been the same size 2 and a half years. no taller, etc. |

| Weight Gain | How far will a clear liquid diet set me back... and WHAT is a light breakfast!? | Apr 19 2009 20:55 (UTC) |

Thank you all for your answers! I really appreciate it... Yes. There will be bowel prep. haha this is going to be awful!! oh well. Its hard because I'm only 16 and neither of my parents have ever gotten one... I don't like to say the word... they scheduled an orthopedic drs appt for before the test... So then I reserched a little and apparently I will be extremely dehydrated and getting explosive diareah, I'm sure the orthopedic surgeon will like that :-) So I'm going to tell them to nix that appt. I'm going to the market to stock up on your suggestions! thankss |

Yahhhhh- i definatly feel ya! My friends and family- it seems like- never eat! My mom skips breakfast, many times lunch and then has a huge dinner and M&Ms for dessert. I can't go 2 hrs w/o food! My dad "forgets" to eat until 6 o'clock at night. My brother keeps a box of cereal in his room that he eats if he gets hungry, wich is rarely, but he never will have a meal! My friends all skip lunch, I'm the only one at our table eating lunch- and NO ONE ever has snacks! I feel like such a goon with a clif bar in chem and my friends are like "you just ate- you're hungry again!?" Its so frustrating! |

haha You described me to a T! But one thing is missing for me:
I do track, xc and indoor and running is my passion! I im like the same situation as you guys. When my weight gets too low the Dr. won't let me run track wich really drives me crazy! Competition+endorphins+the sound of my feet on the pavement=peace |

| Weight Gain | A very low BMI without restricting? What does that mean for gaining? | Mar 02 2009 20:01 (UTC) |

Thanks so much... You're right I am really active, but I have been injured for a couple weeks and not running. I bet I get exercise I don't even notice though, so that would make sense. Part of the problem is running increases my hunger so when I'm out of commission it gets really difficult
My main concern was hyper-metabolism and stuff, but i hope I won't have that problem if I was never malnourished. Thanks again :-) |

I realized just now what could be contributing... Beofre my parents were both makeing efforts to exercise and eat healthy-ish. Now it seems they've given up and as much as I try , they are just becomeing extremely unhealthy and its scareing me. I want them around! So before motivation=wanting to be back to healthy, not hurt my parents... Now they're just hurting themselves. |
